(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, quite often practitioners have become attached to developments in society. For example, practitioners had attachments to a certain prime minister, the upcoming Fourth Plenary Session, a particular date, the Olympic Games, or the end of Fa-rectification. These attachments make the persecution worse, and after many lessons, we should be more alert and mature.

In the past few days, some are saying among practitioners that the Hu-Wen government is secretly planning a nationwide persecution of "four unstable elements in society" this October. I would like to remind fellow practitioners not to get attached to any developments in society. Teacher taught us in "Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students":

"Even if the sky were to fall, a cultivator's righteous thoughts would stay unshaken--that is cultivation, and that is remarkable. A cultivator is not attached to anything in this world."

I hope that fellow practitioners will spend more time studying the Fa and doing the three things well. Let's not get swayed easily and not be affected by what happens in ordinary society. We are playing the main roles at this most important juncture in history.
