June 21, 2008 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Jiangsu Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhou Fenglin, 32, was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. She died on January 9, 2001 after being inhumanly tortured in a detention center for nine days.

Ms. Zhou lived at 148 Qingtan Fifth Village, in Apt. A-502, with her husband and son. On the evening of December 30, 2000, five officers from the Qingtan Police Station stormed into her home and tried to take her into custody without any reason. Ms. Zhou was cooking dinner, and she refused to cooperate. The officers pulled her hair, twisted her arms, and carried her down from the fifth floor. They took her into custody at the police station and took her to the Xilin Detention Center on January 1, 2001.

Ms. Zhou went on hunger strike to protest her arrest and detention. The guards brutally force-fed her and cuffed her wrists and ankles onto a torture board that is usually used on death-row prisoners. She was dragged into a cell at noon on January 9, 2001 after being tortured on that board for nine days.

Other prisoners saw that her face was very pale, like she was dying. The guards told them that they didn't care about Ms. Zhou and did not allow them to remove the force-feeding tube from her nose. Her cell-mates saw that her breathing was getting weaker and weaker, and she looked like she was about to die, so they called the guards to help her. The guards took their time and did not care about her. Finally, they saw that she lost consciousness, so they took her to the hospital to be resuscitated. Ms. Zhou died the same day.

At that time, Ms. Zhou's husband was detained in the same detention center. He was later sentenced to ten years in prison. Their son was only five years old, and he did not see his father until seven years later, in 2007.

The Qingtan Police Station Deputy Director Wu Caimin (male) was one of the officers arrested Ms. Zhou from her home. He met with retribution when he ran into to a parked car while riding a motorcycle and died as a result.
