(Clearwisdom.net) Every time I recite the article, "Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People," I feel limitless inspiration. It is this very article that has guided me on my path to approach thousands of homes for the sake of offering them Teacher's salvation. It is this very article that has given me courage to save sentient beings until the end. It is this very article that has inspired me to prevail over difficulties and resolve conflicts.
1. Falun Gong Practitioners Are the Sentient Beings' Only Hope of Salvation
One day a fellow practitioner, who I will here refer to as Amy, went with me to a village to sell socks and to persuade villagers to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and/or its two affiliated organizations. When we entered one home, we found only a middle-school child.
Amy said, "Child, we are sock peddlers." The child said, "I am not interested in buying socks." He had a TV remote control in his hand and didn't even bother to look at us.
Amy turned and left. I followed her out and asked, "Why didn't you clarify the truth to him?" Amy said, "I lost interest when I saw how he responded to me." I said, "Isn't it a pity if we should lose the opportunity to clarify the truth to him?" Amy fell silent for a short while and said, "I have come to save people. Why did I lose interest?" We returned to the home together.
It was fortuitous that a school friend had called him to play together. Amy approached them and successfully persuaded both of them to withdraw from the CCP's Youth League. Another two lives were saved. It is true that only one thought can determine a sentient being's future.
Teacher said,
"Dafa disciples, don't forsake the magnificent responsibility that has been bestowed upon you in Fa-rectification, and even less should you disappoint those beings, as you are now their only hope for entering the future." ("Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People")
Now I truly understand Falun Gong practitioners' function in saving sentient beings. I feel we are truly pressed for time, and we shoulder important responsibilities.
2. Improving Ourselves While Saving Sentient Beings
One day a fellow practitioner I will refer to as Briana went with me to a village 30 kilometers away on a motor scooter to clarify the truth. Briana and I called on one household after another and persuaded one villager after another to withdraw from the CCP and/or its affiliated organizations.
When we entered the Xie household, Mr. Xie was laying on his bed. From his facial expression, I quickly judged him to be a cunning and wicked person. I was most reluctant to clarify the truth to him. But Briana spoke to him, and I had no choice but to send forth righteous thoughts. He kept listening and finally sat up. He gladly agreed to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. He even consented to have Briana remove a portrait of Mao Zedong from the wall.
I was quite impressed by Brian's powerful righteous thoughts, eloquence, patience and compassion. I remembered a conflict I once had with another practitioner, Cecilia, when we worked together to clarify the truth. If I had clarified the truth at the time with the same mentality as Briana, the conflict might not have taken place. Why had I been playing the role of side-kick all the time? What kind of human notion had stopped me from clarifying the truth? I realized that it was my uncultivated side that had a negative influence on my saving sentient beings. I feared that I might scare sentient beings away because I didn't think I could clarify the truth well. I was attached to my own feelings. Why didn't I search inward? Why was I attached to identifying who is in the right? Why did I see only fellow practitioners' faults? Why did I fail to tolerate fellow practitioners? How can I possibly disintegrate the evil beings from other dimensions or save sentient beings while harboring selfishness and fear? Teacher said,
"The only thing you have a role in is saving people." ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Chicago")
We mustn't let a person's wicked character stop us from saving them. We are saving people's lives. Their acquired notions or jobs do not matter to us.
3. Determination
The winter in northeastern China is bone-chillingly cold, but I remind myself that there are so many sentient beings awaiting Teacher's salvation. One day Amy and I took off on a motor scooter again to clarify the truth. The cold wind was biting our skin. It was so unbearable that we had to stop and walk the scooter for a while. We sent forth righteous thoughts as we walked towards the village so that all the predestined villagers would be saved. Each time after learning the truth, a villager saw us off reluctantly. I felt Teacher's enormous compassion and the Fa's mighty solemnity and sacredness. All of sudden, all the impediments stopped being problems. I forgot completely about the sub-zero temperature, slippery roads, and time. Instead, I felt wonderful and sacred.
I understand that the reason Teacher came to the human realm to rectify the universe and what practitioners are doing are all for the sake of saving sentient beings. Hence, I must keep sentient beings in my heart at all times.
