Mr. Wang and his son had been depending on each other for their subsistence. Now his son's whereabouts are also unknown. Mr. Wang had been persecuted in the past and his family was split up several times due to the persecution. As a result of the persecution, his son, Wang Yiguang, was expelled from school at a young age.
On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to openly persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It fabricated a lot of lies and caused people to have hatred against Falun Gong. Mr. Wang went to Beijing to clarify the truth and to appeal for justice.
However, he was beaten up and arrested by the police, and was then sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp.
During this period of time, Mr. Wang's wife looked after their son alone and the police went to their home frequently. Mr. Wang's wife was unable to bear the abuse resulting from the police officers' actions. She passed away due to the pressure. At the time, Mr. Wang's son was only four years old and was left unattended, so his grandmother took care of him.
After Mr. Wang was released from the forced labor camp, he was reunited with his son. With others' help, Mr. Wang married a practitioner named Ms. Zhou Aiying from Shuangbu Village, Chengyang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province.
Ms. Zhou has two children of her own. After they were married, they formed a family consisting of five people and were able to live a relatively normal life.
In 2005, because she continued to practice Falun Gong, Ms. Zhou Aiying was arrested at her workplace by police from the Bianfang Police Sub-station in Chengyang District. Later, she was sentenced to four years in prison.
Mr. Wang was forced to leave home in order to avoid being arrested. The three children in their household had no means of support and so they moved in with Ms. Zhou 's former husband's mother. Her mother was in her eighties and Ms. Zhou's elder daughter, who was in her twenties, shouldered the responsibility of taking care of her grandmother and siblings.
They barely survived on the small amount of money they had received from their aunt, and they were unable to support Mr. Wang's son. Mr. Wang was still moving from place to place to avoid arrest, but with no other choice, he took his son with him. The two of them wandered about withoutMr. Wang's son could not study in school. Once again, the family had been torn apart.
On September 5, 2008, Mr. Wang Yongkai was arrested by police in Jimo City. Until now, there has been no news about the whereabouts of the Mr. Wang Yongkai and his son, Wang Yiguang.
