Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10 provinces. Thirty-five Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 16 practitioners were arrested.

2. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Honghai Persecuted in Dabei Prison's No.1 Ward
Mr. Qu Honghai, a criminal who was sentenced to life in prison, began Falun Gong practice after he met with practitioners in Dabei Prison's No.1 Ward. He used his cell phone to get online and exposed the brutal mistreatment in the prison to overseas sources, telling about forced labor, torture, and extortion. His cell phone has been confiscated, and he was transferred to a detention center.
3. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] More Than 30 Practitioners Held in a Legal Education School
Mr. Sui Tao, Ms. Yu Qian, and 52-year-old Ms. Lu Xianghong are being held in the Legal Education School's No.1 Division. Mr. Liao Hongwen is in the No.2 Division. It was reported that more than 30 practitioners are being held in the two divisions.

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Wang Xianhua Arrested
Policemen including Li Jianqiang arrested 38-year-old Mr. Wang Xianhua on September 11, 2008, and ransacked his home. He is in Langshan Detention Center.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Held in the Weifang City Brainwashing Center
Eight practitioners in the Weifang City Brainwashing Center are on hunger strikes. They are Ms. Liu Lili, Mr. Li Xinjian, Mr. San Chunwei, Mr. Hua Yuliang, Ms. Gao Xiuyun, Mr. Yang Bingju, Ms. Sang Meiyuan, and Mr. Wang Xile.

Ms. Li Nige is employed by the Xi'an Yangling Forest Institute. She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and is in the city's Women's Forced Labor Camp.
9. [Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Lei Xiuhua and Mr. Jiang Yuhui Held in the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Lei Xiuhua lived in away from home and made a living running a small business. Officials arrested her when she bought certain supplies for her business. She has been sentenced to three years of forced labor and is now in Tumuji Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Jiang Yuhui, who also lived away from home, was arrested recently and is now in a forced labor camp. He was forced to stand for several days and was subjected to sleep deprivation. He had been held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, where he sustained a severe back injury.
10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Dequan and Mr. Li Dexiang Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Li Dequan from Jilin City was sentenced to three years in prison and is in the Gongzhuling City Prison.
Mr. Li Dexiang was sentenced to four years in prison. His whereabouts are unknown.
11. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Personnel from the Jinshui District Domestic Security Division Ransacked Ms. Ye Guiying's Home
Four officers from the Jinshui District Domestic Security Division in Zhengzhou City broke into Ms. Ye Guiying's home in the district's Telecommunication Bureau and ransacked the place at 9:00 p.m. on September 23, 2008. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and other equipment. Fortunately, the family of three escaped through the back door.
12. [Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Qiongfang Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
Personnel from the Shengli Avenue Police Station in the Qiaodong District, Shijiazhuang City, arrested Ms. Lu Qiongfang at 1:00 p.m. on September 12, 2008. They also ransacked her home at No.4-102 Room, No.4 Building, 37 Shizheng Highway. Ms. Lu was sentenced to one year of forced labor on September 16, 2008, the sentence to be served elsewhere, due to her poor health.
13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Tiansheng and Ms. Zhang Lianqin Persecuted and Their Child Needs Care
Personnel from the Weifang City Domestic Security Division broke into the home of Mr. Chen Tiansheng and his wife, Ms. Zhang Lianqin, at 7:00 a.m. on September 24, 2008. Only their nephew and their child were at home. The police confiscated an exercise music tape and two photos. The couple could not return home. The home invasion and ransacking terrified their eight-year-old child. The couple's relatives took turns taking the child to school.
14. [Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Dongyun Arrested
Personnel from the Zhangwan Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Dongyun from the Xiangyang District, Hubei Province, at noon on September 27, 2008, and put her in the district's detention center. District Domestic Security Division chief Deng Yongshan harassed Ms. Wang's family.

15. [Shandong Province] Ms. Ding Fengzhen and Ms. Liu Guiqing Arrested
Ms. Ding Fengzhen, a retired teacher from Zhou Village, was arrested from her home in July 2008 under the pretext of Olympic Games security. Ms. Liu Guiqing from Menger Village, Mengshui Town, was arrested in early September 2008. Her whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Liu's sister, Ms. Liu Guizhen, was arrested on May 1, 2007, and held for two months. She died two days after her release.
16. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Kang Ruiqi Severely Persecuted
Ms. Kang Ruiqi, 58 years old, is a retired employee from the Changsha City Grocery Company. She was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in 2001 for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. While in prison, the guards beat her, leading to the loss of several teeth. Following her release, the authorities again sentenced her to one and a half years of imprisonment in 2006, this time for writing a letter of appeal to the regime.
Another deprivation of freedom followed: Personnel from the Changsha City 610 Office and from the Xichang Street Police Station sentenced Ms. Kang to one year of forced labor on August 5, 2008, under the pretext of maintaining security for the Olympic Games. She is being held in Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.
17. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Persecuted
Ms. Pu Yu was sentenced to three years of forced labor in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp on September 12, 2008. Ms. Gao Xiufeng and Mr. Zhu Lin were released shortly after their arrests. Ms. Su Yan was sent to a forced labor camp on September 10, 2008, but was released after being diagnosed with heart disease. Mr. Wang Kaiming is still in the Panjin City No.3 Detention Center, and his family's visits have been denied.
18. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yan Arrested
Ms. Zhang Yan, in her 20s, lives in Tianerzhuang Village, the Weicheng District, Weifang City. Personnel from the city's Domestic Security Division arrested her and ransacked her home. They confiscated a cell phone and a removable hard disc. Ms. Zhang is now in the city detention center.
19. [Huinan County, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced
Ms. Ye Guilan, Ms. Wang Shulan, Ms. Ma Shiyan, Ms. Li Fengqin, and Ms. Sun Baili were arrested on the night of November 12, 2007, for distributing Falun Gong flyers in Yangzishao Town, Huinan County. They are in the Chaoyang Town Beishan Detention Center and were put on trial on June 14, 2008. The following were sentenced to seven years incarceration: Ms. Ye, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Ma. Ms. Li and Ms. Sun each got three years. The five practitioners appealed, but the officials upheld the sentences during the second trial on August 14, 2008.

20. [Luquan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Jin Wenhua Sentenced to Forced Labor
Mr. Jin Wenhua, 40 years old, was arrested and sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor on the morning of July 14, 2008. He was taken to the city's Beicheng Street Forced Labor Camp on July 23, 2008.
21. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yu Yugui Arrested and Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor
22. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Bi Arrested
Personnel from the Antu County Police Station beat Ms. Bi and put her in a police vehicle at 11:00 a.m. on September 8, 2008. She is being held in the county detention center.

23. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Sun Yuqing Arrested
Mr. Sun Yuqing was held in the Dongxihu Custody Center for 15 days and then transferred to the Beihu Farm Brainwashing Center in the Qingshan District.
24. [Yishui City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xie Zhixia Arrested
Personnel from the Yishui City Police Department arrested Ms. Xie Zhixia and put her in the city detention center on September 24, 2008.
25. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Shu'e Arrested
Personnel from the Qiandazhang Township Police Station arrested 60-year-old Ms. Lu Shu'e from Luancheng County, Shijiazhuang City in Zhao County. Police informed her family on August 23, 2008, that Ms. Lu's case had been submitted to the Zhao County Procuratorate. Ms. Lu was on a hunger strike for several days and in physical danger. Her life was maintained by intravenous transfusion. Ms. Lu's family went to the detention center and requested her release, but failed in their effort.

26. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Guo Minggao Arrested
Police have arrested Mr. Guo Minggao from Datang Township, Guidong County, Chenzhou City several times. They confiscated a printer, a computer, 1,000 yuan in cash, and a hundred pounds of rice on May 16, 2006. The police had looted about 10,000 yuan worth of personal items from Mr. Guo's home on October 15, 2007. They arrested Mr. Guo and ransacked his home again and confiscated 1,000 yuan cash, seven satellite dishes, and Dafa books. This happened on the afternoon of April 16, 2008. His whereabouts are unknown.
27. [Hunan Province] Mr. Xiong Jinze and Mr. Yin Fuliang Persecuted in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Xiong Jinze and Mr. Yin Fuliang, both in Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp, are being tortured in the Tight Administration Group.

Personnel at the Hunan Province Women and Children's Hospital are still holding one of its employees, Ms. He Xianggu, from Changsha City in the provincial Neurological Hospital's No.4 Ward.
