(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 37 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 16 practitioners were "illegally arrested."
1. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yu Mei Arrested Again, Her Young Daughter Left Alone
Ms. Yu Mei is 39 years old. At about 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2008, more than 20 agents were waiting near her home. When she came back from work, she was forcibly taken to the so-called "Legal System Training School" (a brainwashing center) in Zhanjiang City. Her 12-year-old daughter was left at home by herself.
In 2004, Ms. Yu was taken to Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp, where she was detained for two years. Her husband could not withstand the harassment of the persecution and his health suffered. He passed away in June 2006 before he reached 40 years of age.
2. [Gongan County, Hubei Province] Ms. Qiu Xiaozhen and Mr. Fu Xin Still Detained
Four practitioners, including Ms. Qiu Xiaozhen, from Ouchi Town, Gongan County, were arrested and taken to the Gongan County Detention Center the night of August 28, 2008. Because of the strong demand of their families, Ms. Zhao Chunxiang was allowed to be picked up by her family, and Mr. Wu Wenan returned home on September 12, 2008, but Ms. Qiu Xiaozhen and Mr. Fu Xin are still detained in the detention center and are being subjected to abuse. Mr. Fu is from the countryside and his family is impoverished. His father is more than 80 years old, and has a hard time taking care of himself. Mr. Fu made a living by working outside.
3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Gengrong Taken to Shenxin Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Li Gengrong, from Sanmianchuan Township, Faku County, was arrested on July 10, 2008 by police officers from Sanmianchuan Township Police Station, and detained in Faku County Detention Center for 15 days. After he returned home on July 25, 2008, he was home for only five minutes before he was again taken to Faku County Detention Center by local police officers. His family was prohibited from seeing him or sending him clothes. When his family members went to the detention center a second time, they were told that Mr. Li was taken to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.But when they went to Masanjia, they were told that Mr. Li was not there. After more questioning, they finally learned that Mr. Li had been taken to Shenxin Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Yenchi City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zheng Baohua Brutally Force-fed, His Condition Serious
Mr. Zheng Baohua was arrested by police officers from Longhe City on September 10, 2008 and his home was searched. He is still being detained. M. Zheng has been deprived of sleep and been forced to stand for long periods of time. He held a hunger strike to protest the abuse. As a result, he was force-fed and given intravenous fluids. Because of the extended abuse, Mr. Zheng has become pale and emaciated. His condition is very serious.
5. [Xishui County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Yuan Xueli's Mother Harassed, Ms. Gu Mingying Arrested
Ms. Yuan Xueli used to work in the Industry and Commerce Bureau in Xishui County. She was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for persisting in her belief in Falun Gong. She was also fired from her workplace. A few days after she was released at the beginning of August 2007, Ms. Yuan was arrested at home again for refusing to write a guarantee statement to no longer practice Falun Gong. She was then secretly sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Recently, her mother, Ms. Zhao Dazhen, who is also a practitioner, was frequently harassed, and her home was searched. She was forced to temporarily live at a friend's home for several days. The police threatened to withhold her and her two sons' salaries.
Another practitioner in Xishui County, Ms. Gu Mingying, was recently arrested.

6. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Dingsheng Subjected to Long-term Abuse, Suffered a Stroke and Paralysis
7. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Peijin's Young Grandson Threatened by Police
On September 23, 2008, police officers from the No. 3 police station of Jidong Coal Mine forcibly took Mr. Wang Peijin's young grandson to the police station when he was walking along the road. They threatened and interrogated the 13-year-old boy, asking, "What does your grandfather keep at home and where does he usually go?" The boy said that he knew nothing. The officers could not get what they wanted, and had to release the boy.
8. [Zhejiang Province] Authorities of the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp Use Vicious Methods to Force Practitioners to Renounce Falun Gong
To coerce practitioners to give up Falun Gong, the authorities of the Shiliping Men's Forced Labor Camp did not provide them enough food, and they beat and verbally abused them. They forced the practitioners to sit for as long as 17 hours each day, and did not allow them to go to the restroom. When practitioners finally had to relieve themselves in their pants, the guards did not allow them to wash their clothes.

10. [Chongqing City] Ms. Tang Huying Sentenced to Forced Labor
On the afternoon of August 14, 2008, a group of police officers drove to Ms. Tang Huying's home in Guojiatuo Community, Jiangbei District. They arrested Ms. Tang and searched her home. Later, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor and taken to Dazhulin Women's Forced Labor Camp.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Changchun Intermediate Court Tried Practitioners
At about 8:00 a.m. on May 25, 2008, the Changchun Intermediate Court tried practitioners arrested on May 9, 2007. It was reported hat six practitioners were brought to court. Among them, Ms. Yang Youlan from Changchun City was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. Other practitioners included 38-year-old Ms. Zheng Donghui from Changchun City, 33-year-old Ms. Wang Juanfang (who was weak, yet boldly shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!"), 62-year-old Ms. Ma Xiurong from Changchun City, and Ms. Cao Yuqin from Gongzhuling City.

12. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liang Xiulan Arrested Again
On the afternoon of September 24, 2008, police officers from Qianan City pried open Ms. Liang Xiulan's iron security door and broke into her home. They arrested her and searched her home. Ms. Liang's whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Dongzhi County, Anhui Province] Mr. Liu Hongming Arrested by Police Officers from the Local 610 Office
On August 4, 2008, Mr. Liu Hongming was set up by being asked to go back to Dongzhi County from Tongling City to do paperwork for his lump-sum retirement pension from army service. Afterwards, he was arrested by the Dongzhi County 610 Office.
14. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Lanrong Arrested on the Night of September 23, 2008, His Whereabouts Unknown
15. [Qiqihaer City, Heilongjiang] Three Practitioners Including Ms. Jia Guilan Arrested
On September 8, 2008, police officers from the Qiqihar City 610 Office arrested three practitioners, including 60-year-old Ms. Jia Guilan, 40-year-old Ms. Wang Zhen and another practitioner.
Presently, practitioners detained in Qiqihar include Ms. Pan Guiying, Mr. Cao Zhiqiang
who is Ms. Pan Guiying's son, Mr. Wang Weijun, Ms. Wang Shuchun, Ms. Wang Guirong, Ms. Zhang Qing, Ms. Nie Shuxia, Ms. Song Xinhua, Ms. Sun Guixiu, Ms. Sun Yujie, Mr. Sun Dianchen, Jia Guilan, Wang Zhen and three other practitioners whose names are unknown.
16. [Pamzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Xiuying, Retired Physician, Arrested at Home
Ms. Huang Xiuying, in her seventies, is a retired physician of the Lannitian Clinic of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Co. Hospital. At about 3 p.m. on September 23, 2008, a group of police officers broke into her home. They arrested Ms. Huang, searched her home, and seized her Dafa books and materials. The home was left in a mess. At present, her whereabouts are unknown.
17. [Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Including Ms. Zhang Xianhao Brought to Xiuyan County Court
On September 18, 2008, five practitioners arrested in Muniu Township, including Ms. Zhang Xianhao, were brought to the Xiuyan County Court.
18. [Baiquan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Du Xiao Arrested
On September 24, 2008, Mr. Du Xiao from Baiquan County was arrested. Presently, he is detained in the Baiquan County Detention Center.
19. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] About Fifty Practitioners in Wangcun No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp Transferred
On September 24, 2008, about 50 practitioners detained in Wangcun No. 2 Women's Forced Labor Camp were transferred to Jinan No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp for further abuse.
20. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gai Guangqi Sentenced to Forced Labor, His Family Members Released
On September 4, 2008, Mr. Gai Guangqi was taken to Wangchun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City. His six family members were released and returned home on the afternoon of September 26, 2008. During detention, they were abused by Li Nianxun, a guard at the Laiyang City Detention Center.
21. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Cuifang and Ms. Guo Yumei Sentenced to Forced Labor
On September 23, 2008, Ms. Liu Cuifang and Ms. Guo Yumei, practitioners from Yaogezhuang Village, were sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor. They are detained in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp and are being subjected to abuse.
22. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
At about 10:00 a.m. on September 19, 2008, police officers from Jiaozuo City broke into Mr. He Zhanquan's home in Shanyang District, and arrested him and another practitioner, Ms. Yan. They also seized Mr. He's computers and other property.
Mr. He, in his fifties, used to work at the detention center under the Jiaozuo City Police Department.
23. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Recent Situation of Mr. Cui Dejuan and Mr. Yu Ming
Mr. Cui Dejun was transferred from Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. His whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Yu Ming was taken to the brainwashing center located in Luotai Mountain Villa in Fushun City.
24. [Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zuo Gang Facing Trial
Mr. Zuo Gang's legs and arms are injured. The 6,000 yuan cash in his bank card and 4,000 yuan cash from doing business were seized by the authorities. He is currently detained at the Daowai District Police Department and is facing trial.
25.[Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhao Meishuang's Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Zhao Meishuang from Zhuhai City was arrested for promoting Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. Her whereabouts are unknown. On August 2, 2008, Ms. He Xueping from Doumen District was arrested and her home was searched. Ms. He is detained in the Zhuhai City Detention Center. The details of her situation are unknown.
26. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shuxian Arrested on September 23, 2008 for Promoting Falun Gong, Her Home Searched
27. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiao Xiuping Tortured with Tiger Bench
In January 2000, Ms. Jiao Xiuping was abused by Du Xingze, a police officer from Changyi Police Department. In order to extort a confession, the police bound her to a tiger bench and beat her face. Then they pulled her by the hair onto an iron table. On September 16, 2003, Du Xingze and other officers arrested Ms. Jiao's husband and took him to the Lianhua Police Station.
28. [Nanbu County, Sichuan Province ] Five Practitioners Still Detained and Subjected to Abuse
On August 22, 2008, when some practitioners from Fuhu Town, Nanbu County were sharing their cultivation experiences, they were arrested by police officers from the State Security Division and Fuhu Police Station, and body searched on the spot. The officers seized all of the practitioners' money. Some of them had several yuan, some had as much as 700 yuan. Among them, two elderly ladies were released after their families each had 2,000 yuan extorted from them. The remaining 32 practitioners were taken to Nanbu County Detention Center. After being detained for several days, they had 1,000 to 2, 000 yuan extorted from them before they were released. Currently, several practitioners are still detained.

29. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Sixty-year-old Female Practitioner from Hongqi Community, Hongqi Street Arrested while Distributing "Truth-Clarification" Materials
30. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Supplementary Information on the Persecution of Mr. Wang
On May 5, 2008, when Mr. Wang, from Anguang Town, Da'an City, was distributing truth-clarification materials, he was arrested by police officers from the Anguang Police Department. He was taken to Da'an City Detention Center the same day. The police deprived him of sleep for one day and one night in order to extort a confession from him. In mid-June 2008, Mr. Wang was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor and taken to the Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp.
Mr. Wang used to be a company commander in the army. Being a Falun Gong practitioner, he was forced to retire from the army. Then he rented a home and lived with his 80-year-old mother. He made a living by working for others. After he was arrested, his mother was grief-stricken and traumatized and passed away on June 26, 2008 without getting a last chance to see her son.
His wife was arrested in another city before the Olympic Games. His school-aged son was adopted by a relative.
31. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Information about the Abuse of Ms. Tang Shude and Ms. Ma Fengyi
Ms. Tang Shude is from Changshan Town, Songyuan City. Ms. Ma Fengyi is from Anguang Town, Daan City. They were reported to the police when they were distributing truth-clarification materials in the countryside, and were arrested by police officers from the Anguang Town Police Station.
On January 2, 2008, Ms. Tang and Ms. Ma were taken to Da'an City Detention Center and subjected to abuse. During detention, their families were prohibited from seeing them or sending anything to them.
In mid-March 2008, they were tried by The Da'an City Court and sentenced to five years and four years of imprisonment, respectively. They are currently detained in the Heizuizi Women's Prison.
