Community Manager Prevents Police Harassment

Under the pretext of "improving security" for the Olympic Games, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) intensified its persecution of Falun Gong. It directed police to monitor, harass, arrest, and detain practitioners. At the same time, practitioners made efforts to eradicate the evil arrangements by sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the truth.

One day, a new officer from the local police station planned to come to my home and force me to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. When he arrived in my community, he ran into the community manager. The officer asked the manager to take him to my home. When he learned the officer's plan, the manager told him, "That won't be necessary. I know this old man. He is the most well-mannered and law-abiding member of this community. You don't need to go to him." The officer asked, "Can you guarantee that?" The manager answered, "I certainly can." So the officer replied, "In that case, I'll go back to the station."

I had actually met the manager only a few times before. He had come to my home to collect the property management fee and to repair the water pipes. Other than that, I had had no contact with him. But each time I met him, I treated him with compassion.

This incident helped me realize that although the persecutors continue to behave irrationally, many people are awakened and can distinguish good from bad. I also realized that in our contacts with people, practitioners must not only maintain righteous thoughts in every word and deed, but also treat others with compassion and grace. Even a compassionate smile will influence people and dispel the evil influences around them.

Township Cadre Prevents Arrest of Practitioners

In an area near Jinan City, a group of people began practicing Falun Dafa in the spring of 1999. They all conducted themselves according to Teacher's requirements. As a result, some of the older practitioners were cured of their diseases, and others were able to change their selfish ways. The improvement in their appearance was particularly noticeable. One of the older practitioners had once broken her leg when she was hit by a bicycle. But after she had practiced Falun Gong for a while, she recovered completely. All the practitioners were strong, their complexions were rosy, and they walked gracefully. Many of the villagers said, "Falun Gong is really good! I will learn to practice when the fall harvest is over."

After the CCP launched its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the local people said, "The CCP has outlawed such a good practice. It is obvious that the CCP does not want us to lead good lives!"

On August 5, 2008, our village cadre went to my neighbor's home and told him, "A practitioner from a neighboring village distributed fliers and was discovered by the police. The local police may come to your house to search it. They could arrest you if they find so much as a single flier." The other people there were so afraid, they told the practitioner to hide.

The next day, five or six police cars drove up, along with the township chief. They were planning to arrest the practitioner's entire family. But Mr. Yan, a township cadre, said, "You cannot arrest them. They are all out. Nobody is at home." The police officers just sat and waited for a while, then they left.

Mr. Yan had learned the truth about Falun Dafa. He knew that all practitioners were good people, so he frequently protected them.
