Eliminating Human Notions and Harmonizing as a Whole Body

September 22, 2007 |   By a practitioner from Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) With Fa rectification progress at the current stage, most practitioners are able to coordinate as one body and have a great impact on validating the Fa. In the process, some human notions have emerged, along with interference. I would like to share my thoughts.

Fear

Fear is a big attachment that hinders communication among practitioners. Practitioners who are controlled by this attachment often reveal it during regular contact with other practitioners. They don't want to be implicated, arrested, etc. We all know that true safety comes from Teacher, from the Fa, and from assimilating to the Fa. How can the evils even touch a golden life that is assimilated to the Fa? Fear is the deadly test for a life walking toward consummation. As long as we study the Fa well, we definitely will be able to eliminate all the attachments and become open and dignified practitioners in Fa-rectification. We can harmonize with the whole body and more efficiently utilize the power.

What the evil fears most is the indestructible righteous belief we have in Dafa. Fear is a human notion. It is a test and a roadblock on our cultivation paths. We can't acknowledge it, nor accept it. We should disintegrate all elements and factors of fear with our righteous thoughts.

The Importance of Coordination

Sometimes we think, "I cultivate myself and do the three things. Why should I coordinate with the whole body?" Hidden behind this thought is fear and wanting comfort, as well as not understanding the importance of coordination. For example, there are rats in a dormitory. The tenants in rooms 1 and 2 work hard to clean their rooms and catch the rats. The tenants in rooms 4 and 5 don't. The rats will run to rooms 4 and 5 and hide until the tenants in rooms 1 and 2 stop trying to catch them. The next time tenants in rooms 4 and 5 try to catch the rats and those in rooms 1 and 2 don't, then the rats will run to hide in rooms 1 and 2. The tenants will never catch the rats this way. They must all work together so that the rats will have no place to run and the tenants can finally catch the rats.

Teacher said in "Fa-Lecture at the Conference in Florida, U.S.A.,"

"I can tell you, with five minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts together, the evil in the Three Realms will never exist again--that's how important this is."

Teacher not only told us about righteous thoughts but also how strong the power is when we work together. If everyone coordinates well, the evil will have no place to hide and what awaits the evil is elimination.

Attachment of Speculation

A lot of times when it is important to coordinate, such as when rescuing a practitioner or exposing the evil, all of a sudden there is a rumor, "This person is questionable and might be a special agent." This causes instability and partitions between practitioners, and it interferes with what needs to be done.

Everything is geared toward out human notions. Under such circumstances, shouldn't we calm down and look inward, "This is not an coincidence. Maybe we have the attachments of fear and wanting to be safe? We fear that 'impurity within practitioners' will jeopardize what we do and we will get in trouble. Is the evil exploiting our gaps?" When we say things like that, we have to be responsible to other practitioners and the whole body. If other practitioners have mistaken us for being informers, we need to reconsider whether we have had the same attachment to speculating about others or are we being careless in Dafa work and not being rational? Since we are practitioners, if something happens, there is always something that we need to improve upon.

Teacher said in "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference:"

"Why is it that the students who live in some areas cooperate well, while the students in some other areas don't cooperate so well? You can't say that it's because we have special agents there causing interference or blame it on this or on that. Actually, I talked about this long ago: When your minds are very righteous, a special agent wouldn't dare to stay where you are. He only has two options. One is to be assimilated by the righteous field, since the pure and righteous field that Dafa disciples give off purges everything that's bad in a person's mind. The pure, righteous field would disintegrate it, disintegrate everything that's unrighteous in the person's consciousness, and that's another manifestation of salvation and a reflection of compassion."

Our human notions and attachments are the places the evil can exploit most easily. If we act righteously, we can negate and break the evil.

Lives come from different places and levels. Hence they have different characteristics and understandings of the Fa principals and manifestations when they practice. Practitioners should be considerate and harmonize with each other. If one argues who's right and who's wrong, that's an attachment to self. It manifests in such a way that one always insists he is right and the opposite party is not based on the Fa. One must have one's way when working on a project instead of considering other aspects based on the Fa. If we can all step back during a problem, we would see that every life is different and every life is good at something. No one is absolutely wrong when doing Dafa work, it is just that there are always small flaws. No matter whose method is adopted eventually, as long as no one insists and everyone helps each other, the Dafa work will be accomplished well.

For example, an ax and a sword argue who's the best weapon. Ax says, "I am strong and fierce, I can chop open a mountain. A sword is too thin and can't do much." Sword says, "Look at you being so clumsy. I am fast and sharp and no one can stop me!" They argue and accomplish nothing. Only when they can learn their own ways and let go of self will Sword be able to benefit from from Ax's help and vice versa. This way they can fight together and win every battle. Much like we practitioners. Attachment to one's self amplifies "selfishness" and not being responsible for the Fa, and hence sabotaging the harmony of the group.

If a life takes Dafa as a priority every second of its life and will give up everything it has for the truth of the universe, isn't this the realm and mighty virtue of an enlightened being? For the Fa, and for the countless lives yearning to be saved, what is there that we can't let go?

Jealousy also stands out in coordination work. Some coordinators often compare how well different groups achieve in doing Dafa work. Some practitioners complain about coordinators and speak ill of them. Practitioner A complained about Practitioner B. Practitioner B is closer to Practitioner C and excluded A from certain Dafa work. There are those who always compare who's better in writing, who's better in speaking, whose idea is worth adopting, etc. Their hearts are always angry.

Under any circumstances, we should never forget that we are practicing and that we have come for the Fa. We must be extra careful when our human notions emerge and we become angry. Jealousy is demon nature and must be corrected immediately. If jealousy emerges, you will most likely hear it from the people around you, "Hey, A is not so great, you are much better." And most likely A is the practitioner you don't like. At this moment, you should calm down and yank out this attachment that loves to hear praises and be respected. The evil is using every devious ploy to try to interrupt coordination between practitioners. We should eradicate the attachment of jealousy. Who is there to judge who's better and who's not? In fact, comparison itself is a human notion and breeds conflict. In this situation, a practitioner should know that there is an attachment making him/her feel uncomfortable and that it is time to eradicate it.

It's Dafa practitioners that help Teacher to rectify the Fa and save the sentient beings; it's all us. There isn't a reason to attribute the merit to one person and not the other. We do whatever we can if the Fa rectification needs us. There is no difference in the work we do.

The Safety Issue and Minding Our Speech

Minding our speech is cultivation of mind. For the practitioners who make truth clarifying materials, we should be responsible for their safety and not casually tell others about the work they do. I am not advocating being overly careful, but we shouldn't act like we don't care about anything like we have no attachment. This is a matter of whether we can truly place ourselves in others' shoes and be responsible for others. Not minding one's speech could be intentional or not. I will give a few examples.

During experience sharing, I occasionally hear, "I didn't do well. See, as old as Ms. Zhang is, she can use the computer and go online! I am ashamed of myself." This practitioner found his shortcoming but exposed another practitioner's identity. Sometimes a practitioner has openly told another practitioner, "The truth clarification materials you made this time aren't good enough! They are not clear and we need to pay more attention. We are responsible for the Fa and the sentient beings." However, the practitioner who said this forgot to be responsible for the other practitioner's safety.

Being practitioners, we need to pay more attention to details in the great things we do. The evil exists! We can't bring losses to the group because we are careless. In many occasions including experience sharing, we don't have to mention names. We can just say, "A practitioner is..."

Phone safety and distributing materials are old topics. After so many painful lessons, we should have learned. Being numb, careless, and leaving things to chance are still gaps the evil can exploit. Wanting convenience in the short run can bring a lot of trouble. We need be careful about small things and hold ourselves to high standards all the time. Otherwise, "Ants may bring down a thousand-mile-long dam."

Compassion and Harmonization

Sometimes when a practitioner has troubles, instead of pointing out the practitioner's attachment and trying to help, other practitioners place blame or complain or even think, "I knew it was going to happen." This exposes one's selfishness and and need to show off. At the same time, the above responses are acknowledging the old forces' arrangements, which puts pressure on other practitioners and weakens the power of the group.

Practitioners form one body. No matter where the problem emerges, we are in it. We need to think how we should look at the problem and examine whether we have attachments. Do we shift the responsibility to others or look for what we didn't do well and try to help?

To shift responsibility and blame others are notions that exist as matter. Sometimes these notions hide so well that we can't find them. One time Practitioner A made a mistake. Practitioner B accused A and said he/she shouldn't have done it. Practitioner C accused B, saying that B shouldn't have treated and talked to A that way. Practitioner D, who was standing beside them and saw what happened, said to C, "Though your intention is good and you tried to stop practitioners from accusing and complaining to each other, you may not have noticed that you used the same attitude and tone as B when you talked to B." All the practitioners at the scene enlightened, "Why didn't we see this? Because we were all looking outward. We saw others' wrongdoings but we didn't look inward. We might have had the same notion-matter in us, but it just so happened that this incident didn't happen to us. What we really need to do is to eliminate the attachment of blaming others."

Sometimes when we attend a Fa conference or join a Fa study group and see some flaws and shortcomings in what other practitioners are doing, we think, "This field isn't righteous enough. I can't improve. I shouldn't have come." Or, "So many senior practitioners slow down the Fa study. It's better I stay at home. I will learn more." These thoughts emerge from selfishness as well--one just wants to take but not give. If we think, "What is my attachment? What can I do for this group of practitioners?" then we are not selfish. If the environment isn't good enough, it is up to us to fix it. If others think ill of us, we shouldn't run away, but should discuss it with others and improve together, and if we can't stand something, it is a notion to eliminate. If the field isn't righteous enough, we should try our best to provide our opinion and rectify together in the Fa.

Sometimes we are embarrassed to point out a practitioner's gap or interference. This is an attachment of wanting to feel good and not wanting to lose face. Not wanting to correct an acquaintance's problem is another form of selfishness. On the surface, we don't want the person to get upset and worry that he can't take it well, while deep inside we don't want the other person to be angry at us and blame us. We are protecting our feelings.

Our environment will change if we let go of self, walk the righteous path, and be responsible to other practitioners and the whole group. This is also what we need to do to harmonize the group. In our local area (I apologize if I am wrong and please point out any mistakes) I believe we need to establish Fa study groups and ensure an environment for Fa study because it is the Fa that helps us solve all problems. There should be a coordinator in each group. Coordinators from three or four groups could often get together and communicate. Between these three or four coordinators, there would be an overall coordinator as well. This coordinator would communicate with other similar coordinators at regular intervals. This way, there are channels for groups or individuals in the entire area to communicate together. If there is a problem, the whole area can provide help, and if there is something that needs to be done or a message that needs to be passed on, there is systematic coordination.

What I shared is an experience that I have had plus thoughts from the hearts of practitioners wanting to be responsible for the Fa. If practitioners in certain areas do well, it is because all of them work hard together toward the progress of Fa rectification. There are different levels of Fa and Fa rectification. Today we need to let go of self and harmonize the whole body. We should coordinate well to completely eliminate the dust from the old cosmos.

My personal enlightenment: "The whole body is a giant cosmos composed of countless small universes. The attachments and existence of selfishness are life as black matter that block the meridians of the body. Dafa rectifies all human notions. As the whole body improves and sublimates, the grand wave of Fa rectification will penetrate this giant cosmos and make it free of self and attachment."
