Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

"Heaven monitors the human beings on Earth and determines a person's life span based upon his virtue and performance. When a person dies early, it's not because heaven wants him to, but because this person fails to do good deeds and instead seeks his own destruction." For nearly eight years, while the Chinese Communist Party has persecuted those who lead their lives according to "Truthfulness, Compassion Forbearance", Falun Gong practitioners have resisted the persecution with rationality and persistence, and the universal law of good deeds being rewarded and evil meeting with retribution has been distinctly manifested. In this series of articles, we enumerate some statistical data as well as some startling cases of how people at different levels have met with retribution in recent years after participating in the persecution of Falun Gong. We hope this will get the attention of those evildoers who still follow the Chinese Communist Party to commit crimes towards Dafa practitioners.

According to information collected by the Minghui (Clearwisdom) website after breaking through layers and layers of interference, the website has verified that over 3,340 Falun Gong practitioners were persecuted to death in the past eight years. Since 1999, when the CCP began to publicly persecute Falun Gong, these cases have occurred in over 31 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and autonomous regions in China. There are 5,536 cases of karmic retribution on record, involving about 10,000 people who actively followed the CCP to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. They have occurred in 30 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and autonomous regions. About 70 percent of the cases involved personnel in organizations related to public security, labor camps, 610 Offices, the political and judiciary system, and the cultural and education system.

Below are the 10 provinces and cities with the highest number of Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death and the highest number of retribution cases (in the order from highest to lowest): Hebei, Liaoning, Shandoing, Helongjiang, Jilin, Sichuan, Hubei, Henan, Hunan, and Beijing.

The above figures show that, in the areas where Falun Gong was severely persecuted, there are large numbers of retribution cases. The10 areas with the highest number of retribution cases and the10 areas with the highest number of practitioners persecuted to death are basically the same. The statistics for other provinces and cities also showed a surprising high correlation.

In statistics, a correlation coefficient is used to describe the relationship between two random variables. It is valued from 0 to 1. The closer the coefficient is to 1, the more closely are the two variables related to each other. Conversely, the closer the coefficient is to 0, the less of a correlation between the two. Generally, when the correlation coefficient is greater than 0.3, the two random variables are considered positively correlated, meaning that one variable will likely affect the other. Correlating the ten areas with the highest number of practitioners persecuted to death with the number of retribution cases in the same areas, the correlation coefficient is as high as 0.95!

Considering the law of cause and effect and the heavenly principle of "good is rewarded while evil meets with retribution," we can give meaning to the above statistics.

The CCP and Jiang Zemin have controlled the entire state apparatus and attempted to exterminate human beings' morals and conscience. They have attacked Falun Gong with fabricated charges, slanderous lies, coercion, and enticement. They have directly gone against "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." They have disobeyed the heavenly law and committed unforgivable crimes. Any life which participates in such a crime will be punished by the heavenly law, even though he may not believe in the existence of divine beings or heavenly law.

Some people think that the heavenly law and the ancient saying of evil being met with karmic tribulation is a curse or a threat. That's not the case at all. If a person is about to fall into an abyss, it is disrespectful to life if we just let him fall. It is truly being considerate of him if we warn him in time: "Stop, you are on the edge of a cliff!"
