(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Gui Qionghua, a practitioner from Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, came home after she had been gone for more than seven months to avoid persecution. Several hours after she had returned, the local police came and arrested her and her husband, Mr. Wen Lianchun.
At around 11 p.m. on July 4, 2007, over ten police officers from the Hongta District Police Department in Yuxi City went to Ms. Gui's home in Huangyingguan Village. They parked their car on the street and surrounded Ms. Gui's home. Then they knocked on the door. When Ms. Gui's husband heard that the police had come, he told them, "Please come back tomorrow, I am going to bed." The police pounded on the door and tried to open it with a master key. They could not open the door because of the deadbolt, so they broke the window and entered. They badly beat Mr. Wen. Ms. Gui escaped, so they broke into her neighbors' home and caught her on their roof. They arrested Mr. Wen, Ms. Gui's husband, saying that he covered-up Ms. Gui's escape. Police also went to Ms. Gui's parent's home and her other relatives' home at the same time. They declared that they would not miss a single place.
On November 16, 2006, police officers He Xiaopei, Zhang Surong, Zhu Jiayong, and several others arrested Ms. Gui. Seven other practitioners, including Ms. Huo Shuxian, Ms. Huo Shuqiong, Ms. Sun Lanxian, Ms. Liu Huilan, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Ms. Deng Zhixu, were arrested with Ms. Gui at the same time. These practitioners were distributing truth clarification materials and were reported to authorities. State Security agents and officials from the 610 Office took the practitioners to the Hongtan District Police Department. At around 6 a.m on the next day, Ms. Liu Shuhua, Ms. Gui, and Ms. Deng miraculously opened their handcuffs and walked out of the police department with righteous thoughts.
On November 17, 2006, the same day the three escaped, He Xiaopei and several other officers from the Hongta District Police Department went to Ms. Gui and Ms. Liu Shuhuas' homes and ransacked them. Later, the police brought in both practitioners' husbands to the police department and interrogated them about their wives whereabouts. They also ordered many plainclothes police officers and agents to monitor the practitioners' home villages and arrest the practitioners once they were seen. The police also posted "Assisting Investigation Order" posters in Hei Village, Liuzongqi Village, and Chima Village. They lied to people, saying that they were trying to arrest a crime gang and would award 1000 yuan to anyone who would help.
On July 4, 2007, Ms. Gui came home. She was followed and reported to the authorities. Several hours later, more than ten police officers arrived to arrest her and ransack her home.
Later, the police posted the "Assisting Investigation Order"posters again, which still had the photos of the three practitioners who escaped on November 17, 2006, on them. The posters also stated that the person who reported the escapees to authorities would be rewarded 5,000 yuan, and the person who caught them would be rewarded 10,000 yuan. The posters said that the names of those providing information would be kept secret and the reward money paid by wire. They were luring people who don't know the truth to commit crimes against Dafa.
During the arrest of Ms. Gui, the police didn't dare to tell the public that they were arresting Falun Gong practitioners. When Ms. Gui's neighbors and relatives questioned them, they didn't answer and left hastily.
