(Clearwisdom.net) July 20, 2007, will mark the eighth anniversary of the beginning of Falun Gong practitioners' anti-persecution efforts. Two days before, practitioners from Los Angeles held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate in memory of fellow practitioners who were persecuted to death and called for an end to the persecution.

Human Rights Leader Supports Falun Gong
Wu Fan, a famous human rights leader and author, said at the rally that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is afraid of the righteous power of Falun Gong practitioners. He said that Falun Gong practitioners' spirits have won support from every social class.
Wu Fan pointed out that the 2008 Olympic Games should not be held by the CCP, because its behavior is contrary to the Olympic spirit.
Quitting the CCP will Bring Chinese People Wonderful Futures
Ms. Li from the Service Center for Quitting the Communist Party said that 23 million Chinese people have quit the CCP and its related organizations since the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published by The Epoch Times in 2004. Ms. Li called upon more Chinese people to quit the CCP for a wonderful future.
The Brutal Persecution
Professor Wu Yingnian from UCLA, a Falun Gong representative, gave details of the persecution. He said that in the last eight years, 3064 practitioners have been verified as being persecuted to death in China, and more than 100,000 practitioners were illegally arrested and jailed in detention centers, mental hospitals, and brainwashing centers. Professor Wu pointed out that the CCP is the real anti-China power.
Clarifying the Facts in Front of the Chinese Consulate
Falun Gong practitioners have clarified the facts of the persecution in front of the Chinese Consulate for eight years. Many citizens support them. One local resident, shouts, "Falun Dafa is good," whenever he sees practitioners at the Chinese Consulate. He also helps practitioners talk to Westerners and pass out materials.
Many Chinese people admire practitioners' spirit. After learning the facts, many of them quit the Party.
