(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Guilan is an associate professor at the College of Public Health at Hebei Medical University. She had many health problems such as chronic inflamed gallbladder, migraines, early stages of cervical cancer, high blood pressure, a shortage of blood to the heart, eye artery convulsion, fear of wind, insomnia, hyperplasia in the neck vertebra and lower back, chronic back and leg pain, Schimmelbusch's disease (proliferation of the mammary glands) and abnormal menstruation. After she began practicing Falun Gong, all of these illnesses disappeared completely without any treatment and Ms. Wang threw away her medicine bottles. She also underwent huge mental changes. She no longer competed with others, she let go of fame and self-interest, and she got along well with colleagues and family members. She deeply experienced, both mentally and physically, the great power of Falun Dafa.
In July 1999, Wang Guilan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, but she was repeatedly detained.
On December 5, 2000, she was sent to the police station in the Chongwen District of Beijing. Because she held a hunger strike to protest the illegal detainment, four or five persons held her to the ground and force fed her through a rough tube despite the risk to her life. On December 25, she was again sent to Qian'an Detention Center in Tangshan, where four male and two female officers held her down after she had been on a hunger strike for 18 days. They stepped on her legs, slapped her, pulled her hair, and tortured her with the "killer rope." The rope cut into her flesh, and her arms became purple and blue. The torture made her arms numb for almost a year. Her feet were stepped on and thus ached for a long period of time. Even though she was subjected to all kinds of torture, she still told the police about the principle, "good is rewarded with good and evil meets evil," and advised them not to persecute kind Falun Gong practitioners who cultivate "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." Their reply was to beat her. Afterwards she went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong several times and she was repeatedly detained and tortured.
On November 9, 2001, Ms. Wang lost consciousness after being beaten and arrested by Ma Wenshen, Li Yong, Ma Yong, Wang Xiaofeng and Li Ruihai, from the Hebei Political Security Team. They confiscated the money in her pocket and her ID card, and restrained her on a metal chair for seven days, trying to extort a "confession" from her. She was then detained at the notorious Hebei Provincial Legal Education Center (also known as the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center). She was brutally force-fed, and those in charge added a large quantity of salt to the force-feeding milk powder to torture her. The mucous membranes in her nose were so badly swollen that the rubber tube could not even be inserted. She became emaciated and extremely weak, but she was still sent to the vicious "attack team" four times while she was in the brainwashing center. She was deprived of sleep, the longest time being for two weeks. She was also subjected to various forms of torture including near-suffocation by strangling, separation of her eyelids, having her eyeballs flicked, and having her head hammered, her legs beaten, and her flesh pinched. All kinds of vicious tortures were used attempting to force her to give up her belief. Her period became irregular and she lost consciousness. She was severely injured and extremely weak. Even though Ms. Wang became mentally traumatized from the torture, she was still forced to write the so-called guarantee statement that was used to deceive other Falun Gong practitioners.
In their attempt to destroy Falun Gong practitioners mentally and physically, the CCP regime uses these relentless and inhumane means to deceive and torture innocent people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance," and want to be good persons. They even sugarcoat the process by labeling it, "saving people." The scoundrel nature and evil essence of the CCP has been fully displayed.
Due to pressure from above, Wang Guilan's employer persecuted her financially. From November 2000 to April 2002, during which time she was homeless and detained, 17 months' salary was withheld from her. She was also no longer allowed to give lectures. In late February 2004, using the excuse that she persisted in cultivation and clarified the truth, the college withheld almost five thousand yuan from her salary.
In January 2007, because she was clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong to passersby, she was illegally arrested and taken to the Yucai Street Police Station in Shijiazhuang City. Incited by Director Tan Jun, police officer Shi Qiwu, together with five other officers, ransacked Ms. Wang's home for three hours without a warrant, despite the fact that her 85-year-old, blind, weak mother was lying there in bed. Ms. Wang's elderly mother was so frightened and shocked by the ransacking that she suddenly suffered a mental collapse and lost consciousness. She remained confused for some time, and whenever she sensed anyone coming she though it was the police coming for her daughter again! Everyone shed tears when they heard about this.
After Wang Guilan was released, at the instigation of the director of the police station, Tan Jun, the party committee at the college withheld two thousand yuan from her monthly salary, until ten thousand yuan had been collected as a "training fee" for the brainwashing session at the 610 Office.
