(Clearwisdom.net) On April 17, 2007, two forums with the goal of exposing the CCP's harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners were held, one at the Inter-Continental Hotel and the other at Case Western University, both in Cleveland. Mr. David Kilgour, the former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific and Parliament member; Mr. David Matas, a famous human right lawyer; and Mr. Li Xiangchun, a Falun Gong practitioner, spoke at the forums. Mr. Kilgour and Mr. Matas are the authors of the investigation report of the CCP's harvesting organs, and Mr. Li was jailed in China for three years because for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong.
Mr. Kilgour and Mr. Matas introduced their new evidence on organ harvesting. Since the first version of the investigation reporter was published in July 2006, they have traveled to more than 30 cities in the world to expose the CCP's crime and have collected more evidence. On January 31, 2007, they published an updated report with 15 new pieces of evidence. Mr. Kilgour said that the Chinese government has not responded to 20 suggestions made by the investigation group. The only response that the Chinese government made was to point out that two city names in the report were wrong. The Chinese government did not disprove the report's conclusion--that large scale organ harvesting exists and is going on.
Mr. Matas said that they have already submitted the evidence to the United Nation Human Rights Commission and anti-torture organizations. The UN Special Rapporteur on Torture has required the Chinese government to answer the questions related to the organ harvesting. With more and more people knowing about it, more action will be taken to stop it.
Mr. Kilgour said that it is the time to reconsider if the 2008 Olympic Games should be held in China. He said that a tyrant government, which maintains its power with lies and violence, is counter to the spirit of Olympic Games. Mr. Kilgour pointed out that the 1936 Olympic Games, which were held in Nazi Germany, didn't keep the war from happening and even promoted the persecution of Jews.
Mr. Li Xiangchun told the audience how he was tortured in a CCP prison. He was forced to read and watch the brainwashing materials and threatened to write a "Feeling Guilty Letter." His mother passed away during his imprisonment, but the government didn't allow him to go to the funeral. Mr. Li said that compared to other Falun Gong practitioners, he was lucky, because he is still alive.
During lunch, Mr. Matas and Mr. Kilgour ran into a doctor from the organ transplant department of the Cleveland Clinical Foundation, who has done a lot of collaborating with doctors in China. They urged him to stop training organ transplant doctors from China.
Several local human right organizations, college students, and professors volunteered to pass out flyer and put up posters for the forums. Many doctors, media reporters, and students attended the forums.
One professor said that international society and governments of other countries should take action to stop this horrible crime. A Chinese student said that his reason for attending the forum was to learn what China is like these days and to help his family members recognize the true nature of the CCP. A doctor from Mainland China said that he would quit the party right away because the party is really evil.
