(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communst Party (CCP) has illegally persecuted Falun Gong for over eight years, and this persecution is testing the conscience of everyone. Recently Mr. Wang Zhaojun, a standing member of the Anhui Province Political Consultative Commission, wrote an open letter to Chinese leaders Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. In this letter he mentioned the urgency of stopping the persecution of Falun Gong and bringing its originator, former party leader Jiang Zemin, to justice. This letter triggered attention and responses from people from different walks of life.

Chen Shaowen: "I Admire the Benevolence and Unselfishness of Falun Gong Practitioners"

Chen Shaowen, a member of the democratic movement in Hunan and Independent Chinese Pen Center, believes that the open letter from Wang Zhaojun expresses the conscience of an official within the regime, and that it is imperative for the CCP to allow Falun Gong to exist freely in China.

Because Chen Shaowen posted more than forty articles critical of the CCP on the Internet, he was charged with subversion of state power, sentenced to three years of imprisonment and deprived of political rights for one year. While he was in prison, he found that seventy percent of the political prisoners were Falun Gong practitioners. He was locked in the same cell with a Falun Gong practitioner who had been illegally sentenced to seven years. He learned about Falun Dafa as he chatted with the practitioner, "What's unforgettable to me is their bravery, unselfishness and fearlessness. Even when their lives are in danger they still think of others. I am completely amazed in my heart."

"The persecution of Falun Gong is illegal. It's the result of Jiang's decision to override the Chinese Constitution and the will of Chinese people with his own will. Falun Gong beliefs can upgrade human moral standards. It violates logic and rational principles to claim that it is a cult. Falun Gong practitioners were deprived of their legal rights just because they protested to safeguard their rights. It's outlaw logic."

Chen Shaowen also pointed out, "The CCP tried everything it could to nip the growth of Falun Gong in the bud. Although Falun Gong was severely persecuted in China, did it disappear? It will never disappear. The effect and power of Falun Gong's resistance to the persecution is already rooted in the hearts of the Chinese people."

"From last year to this year, more and more local people received Dafa truth-clarification materials and news of Chinese people quitting the CCP. I feel inspired and hope that our Falun Gong friends can hold the line. They are models in the fight for freedom and their indomitable spirit will be marked in history," said Chen Shaowen. "I would like to be a friend of Falun Gong practitioners and I admire their benevolence. I feel warmth and compassion when I am with them."

Chen Shaowen believes that the awakening of the Chinese people requires that people like Falun Gong practitioners clarify the truth to one, ten, and thousands of persons, exposing the CCP as the evil cult and illegal organization. Allowing Falun Gong practitioners, who are now deprived of their freedom of belief, to live freely in China is the only hope for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Li Datong: "Bring Those Who Illegally Persecuted Falun Gong to Justice"

A reporter for China Youth and a former editor of "Freezing Point," Li Datong said that the problems brought up in the open letter from Wang Zhaojun were intense, true and important. They are things most Chinese people want to say but dare not say.

Wang Zhaojun said in his open letter to Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao that it's urgent to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and to bring the head criminal to justice. Li Datong agrees with Wang Zhaojun and he said, "It's against the constitution to use the state machinery to persecute Falun Gong throughout the entire country without any legal evidence. It's necessary to bring any accused people to justice according to the law."

Li Datong stressed, "How can a party deem something as true just because someone says so? Isn't there a rule of law? According to the rule of law, if you think someone has done something illegal you should point out which law and regulations he violated, then file a lawsuit against him. Without a trial, how can a group of people be deemed illegal? Legal procedures must be followed, otherwise there is a problem."

Li Datong said, "The persecution of Falun Gong has a negative effect on non-Falun Gong practitioners and the whole society. Illegal harm to any citizen is illegal harm against everyone, this is a fundamental principle. For any citizen, if you ignore the persecution of some people, in fact you are ignoring harm against yourself."

Mr. Huang Liangtian: "Restore a Society in Which Everyone Can Speak Freely"

The former editor of Baixing, Mr. Huang Liangtian, praised Mr. Wang Zhaojun's courage to write an open letter to Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. Mr. Huang Liangtain believes the open letter from Wang Zhaojun represents the voice of the Chinese people, therefore he is stepping forward to support Wang.

The most striking part of Wang Zhaojun's open letter is the call to stop the persecution of Falun Gong, to bring Jiang Zemin to justice, and to give nationwide reimbursement to Falun Gong practitioners who suffered persecution. Huang Liangtian agrees with Wang Zhaojun and points out that the persecution of Falun Gong was erroneous policy caused by Jiang Zemin's insistence on previous wrong decisions, which put the CCP in an awkward dilemma.

"I hope we can return to the best times of our history, in which everyone enjoyed freedom of belief. Everyone can find a way to improve one's body and mind. A good society is a society in which everyone can freely express his opinion."

Ma Xiaoming: "The CCP is the Largest Evil Cult Organization in the World"

Mr. Ma Xiaoming, a member of the democratic movement in Shanxi, said that all Falun Gong practitioners he knew were kind. In China it's the CCP that has caused social turbulence and harmed the people. Therefore the CCP should be banned. Ma Xiaoming said, "I meet some Falun Gong practitioners in daily life and I feel they are very kind and sincere, they don't have ill will towards others and they want to help others. I have been in jail, and although I did not see detained Falun Gong practitioners, I heard that they would consider and assist others even when they were in jail. It really is the action of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.

When Ma Xiaoming was detained, police asked him for his opinion of Falun Gong. He recalls, "I said then, that I did not do research on Falun Gong or practice Falun Gong. However I think the persecution of Falun Gong is a violation of people's freedom of belief. If there is any evil cult, the CCP and Marxism are the largest evil cult. I think that Wang Zhaojun and Gao Zhisheng have openly requested the restoration of Falun Gong's name and and end to the persecution of Falun Gong."

Mr. Ma Xiaoming was a former editor of economic information for the Shanxi Television Station where he was a senior media professional. He said that the CCP media always lies and their reports on Falun Gong are not credible. The news was exclusively reported by the CCP media. No independent media reported or verified the news. There was only one voice--how could one believe the propaganda from the CCP? The CCP utilized media to mislead people with huge lies.

Li Changyu: "Dare to Speak up for Falun Gong"

Li Changyu, a retired teacher who appealed for the restoration of the so-called "rightists'" reputations after their persecution by the CCP, praised Wang Zhaojun for daring to request the restoration of Falun Gong's good name. "He is very courageous and his spirit is commendable."

As an official and non-Falun Gong practitioner, Wang Zhaojun righteously proposed punishment for Jiang Zemin. It's a huge strike and threatening for Jiang Zemin, as well as a warning for Hu Jintao and Wen Jiabao. CCP officials never hesitate to persecute the Chinese people. It is very valuable for Wang Zhaojun to request this publicly."

Ma Jian: "The Persecution of Falun Gong Is a Crime"

Ma Jian, a writer from Qingdao who currently lives in England, said that what's most magnificent is that Wang Zhaojun proposed the concept of political consultation and he also dared to speak up for Falun Gong. As a businessman, his action should make Chinese intellectuals feel shameful.

Ma Jian said, "Overseas or in mainland China, Falun Gong practitioners carry very heavy shackles. In China many people believed what the CCP says. Among Chinese intellectuals, people always avoid talking about Falun Gong when it's mentioned because they think the nature of Falun Gong has already been decided. Basically Falun Gong is a topic that cannot be touched deeply. It's very brave for Wang Zhaojun to bring up this problem in public. Fundamentally, he recognizes the illegitimacy of the CCP in China. The persecution of Falun Gong is organized crime.

Ma Jian said, "I made phone calls to China and found that many people did not know about or read Wang Zhaojun's open letter. However, after I told them, most of them believed Wang spoke the truth. The environment in mainland China suppresses people. Some people get used to it and become numb. Others feel that they cannot live with their head down, and they have stood up. They feel sorry for the country and the fate of the Chinese people."
