(Clearwisdom.net) Cheng Dongxiao (male) is head of the 610 Office in the Xiaguan District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. Since July 20, 1999, he has used all kinds of ruthless tactics to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in the Xiaguan District. As a result, many practitioners have been illegally detained, taken to the brainwashing center, or taken to the mental hospital for persecution. Some of these practitioners have also been taken to the forced labor camp. Two of those who have been been imprisoned are Mr. Zhang Xuefeng and Ms. Liu Kaimei. This couple has been sentenced to long prison terms by the Xiaguan District Court in Nanjing City.

Mr. Zhang Xuefeng used to work in research in the Nanjing Institute of Architecture and Engineering. He was known to be highly responsible and dependable. Ms. Liu Kaimei used to work as a managerial staff member in the Department of Education in the Gulou District, Nanjing City. They both firmly believe in Falun Dafa and insisted on telling people the truth about Falun Dafa despite the misconceptions and negative social pressure. They were arrested twice--in 2000 and 2001--by the 610 Office and the police department in the Xiaguan District. As directed by Cheng Dongxiao of the Xiaguan District 610 Office, the police, the Procuratorate, and the Judicial System sentenced Mr. Zhang to serve eight and a half years in the Suzhou City Prison in Jiangsu Province. Ms. Liu was sentenced to a seven-year term and was imprisoned in the Nantong City Prison in Jiangsu Province.

After Ms. Liu was released from the Nantong City Prison in 2006, the Department of Education in the Gulou District of Nanjing City made arrangements for her to work in a school as a contract worker. This was convenient because Ms. Liu has a child and elderly parents to take care of and they are on a very tight budget. However, 610 Office Head Cheng Dongxiao has sent people to harass Ms. Liu at school and at home multiple times. Due to this harassment, many of her colleagues have become very fearful. Consequently, they have decided to fire Ms. Liu Kaimei due to the pressure.

Not long ago, a group of people from the Sisuo Village Police Station and the Wusuo Village Residents' Committee from the Xiaguan District, led by Cheng Dongxiao, went to Ms. Liu's home and attempted to take her to the brainwashing center. They didn't leave until Ms. Liu's parents threatened to jump from the building to protest their unjust demand. That same afternoon, the group returned and smashed in Ms. Liu's door and yelled abuses at her family. Incidents like these make it impossible for the family to lead a normal life.

Mr. Zhang Xuefeng has remained in the Suzhou City Prison for over seven years, ever since 2000, where he continues to be tortured. Despite this dreadful situation, Mr. Zhang persists in his belief in the righteous principles of Falun Dafa. During the first half of this year, his wife and other relatives went to the prison to visit him multiple times. The prison authorities refused to let the family see him. His 13-year-old son was not allowed to see his father.
