(Clearwisdom.net) Many fellow practitioners say, "When facing the evil, Im afraid of nothing at all. I can achieve the state of truly letting go of life and death." After experiencing numerous tribulations and hardships during the past several years, I became strong and determined through the process of breaking away from the malicious forces. When I was illegally detained in a labor camp and prison, facing cruel persecution directly, it was impossible for me to break through tribulations without righteous thoughts cultivated from the Fa. However, an incident that happened very recently enabled me to enlighten to another meaning of "letting go of life and death."
A fellow practitioner contacted me by calling a cellular phone of mine to discuss something. For security reasons, we arranged that he would call and let the phone ring one time, then I would call him back by using a public phone. That afternoon, a strange combination of circumstances occurred. I thought that the several phone calls made by that fellow practitioner were "the voice system" utilized by the policemen to collect the voices of Falun Gong practitioners. (Several days ago, I received several similar phone calls. I saw through their conspiracy, and they failed.)
I began to look inside: "Where was my xinxing loophole leading the evil to continue to take advantage of me through phone interference?" My xinxing then wavered for a moment. After going downstairs, an older couple that I had little chance to meet greeted me. Usually, I would take this rare opportunity to clarify the truth and persuade them to quit the CCP and its related organizations. However, at that time my mind was occupied with "looking inside and worrying," so I just chatted with them for a few moments and missed the opportunity to save them.
While sharing the experience with a fellow practitioner that evening, he asked me, "Do you think that you can let go of life and death?" I kept silent. I asked myself if I could really let go of life and death. What really is letting go of life and death? Master said,
"In extremely difficult situations and when the most evil beings act most savagely, we're still able to be so merciful--this is the performance of the most magnificent Gods. When we're in the midst of the worst suffering, we're still saving others." ("Teaching the Fa at the Great Lakes Fa Conference in North America")
Under harsh conditions, I believe that many fellow practitioners who have come this far are able to withstand the evil and not cooperate with the evil. However, in a relatively easier cultivation environment, can we also let go of life and death, and let go of ourselves? Can each and every thought of ours meet the standard of letting go of life and death? When we heard that the evil would have a brainwashing class, how were our minds moved? Should I go into hiding, or eliminate and negate the evil with determined righteous thoughts? When a fellow practitioner, whom we know very well, is arrested, how are our minds moved? Are we afraid of being implicated, or do we maintain an unshakable calm and try to find ways to rescue him immediately? When hearing an unexpected knock at the door, how are our minds moved? Are we suspicious of evil harassment, or should we act in a dignified and upright manner?
After experiencing all this that in one afternoon, and comparing Teachers Fa to my behavior, I knew that I had not truly let go of life and death. As Dafa disciples during the Fa-rectification period, we should at all times puts others in our hearts first, completely forget about ourselves under any circumstances, and first think about saving sentient beings. If I can really be this determined, and can let go of life and death at all times, then I will eliminate "searching inward and attaching too much importance to my personal safety," and I will seize the opportunity to save sentient beings.
While writing about this, I could not help crying. It occurred to me that Master is saving all the beings in the universe with compassion.
Teacher said in "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference,"
"Whats stored in Masters heart are all the people there are."
The above is what I have personally enlightened to during this current period of time. Please, fellow practitioners, correct me with compassion if there is anything inappropriate.
