(Clearwisdom.net) No matter how intricate and unpredictable the relationships between countries and how entangled the many interests and powers, in the development of the human race, mankind has never ceased to seek justice and universal values. In both Eastern and Western history, self-reflection on morality and conscience has always been respected, admired, and praised.
Under the Chinese Communist Party's totalitarian rule, Falun Gong has been persecuted for seven years. The world has also been struck by this group's quick and wide spread across five continents, the diversity among its practitioners, and the severity, depth, and long-term nature of the persecution against it in China. Many groups and individuals have become increasingly impressed with Falun Gong practitioners' consistent appeal to end the persecution and their peacefulness and self-control. This is evidenced by the growing number of international groups that support Falun Gong, and various governments' and groups' (including human rights and lawyers' groups) resolutions that condemn the CCP's violence.
Since last year, we've seen more people who seek justice, including lawyers, reporters, former Chinese diplomats, former national security staff of China, hospital staff, with evidence of the CCP's brutal persecution against Falun Gong, risk their lives to appeal to the CCP to stop the persecution. They exposed to the world the inhumane and atrocious organ harvesting from live Falun Gong practitioners and cremation of their bodies. Driven by their conscience and with knowledge of the facts, they openly told the world they are not Falun Gong practitioners, but urged the international media to expose this persecution and the international community to help end the persecution. The morals and courage displayed by them and the countless Falun Gong practitioners outside of China who have given up personal interests and devoted themselves to saving people are the most precious asset in the development of human civilization.
Recently, after a speech by President Bush at the White House and before Chinese leader Hu Jintao spoke, a Chinese reporter shouted out in English and Chinese, "Falun Dafa is great," "Stop persecuting Falun Gong." Although her actions were arguably unfitting for the occasion, her call for justice was quite appropriate. For the last seven years, the international community has heard the call, and they are no strangers to it. What is surprising is that even after a large number of international governments and groups expressed their respect and understanding for the kind-natured group of Falun Gong, and learned the brutal nature of the CCP's persecution, the persecution has been able to continue, and even escalate to new intensity! Although this woman acted unexpectedly, her words were not without merit. On a very formal international occasion, she opened up a "wound" that the international community must face and treat seriously, which is the persecution and ongoing genocide by the CCP against Falun Gong practitioners.
The woman, who has a medical background, called for the end to the persecution at the risk of losing her media credentials and reputation. Her action was widely reported by mainstream Western media. This is not just an isolated, sensational piece of news, but a deep, pained call for help to the world. While we may not encourage her means, we do respect her for her call for justice.
"Stop persecuting Falun Gong" is not a human rights wish of Falun Gong practitioners themselves. We are indeed seeing more and more groups and individuals, be they Falun Gong practitioners or not, gain a clear understanding on the issue, and use various peaceful means to call for an end to the CCP's wickedness and persecution.
No dark cloud can hide the sun forever. We call on the world to unanimously support the most compassionate, selfless, and ultraistic plea that is for the lives, health, and freedom of others--"Stop persecuting Falun Gong." The vile CCP should be investigated by the international community without barriers, and take the historic and legal responsibility for its actions.
