(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in Canberra participated in Australia's "National Folk Festival" on April 13-17, 2006. The following are some interesting incidents that happened during the festival.
Practitioners demonstrate the exercises |
The practitioners' booth is packed with people who have come to learn the facts |
Because there was such a large crowd of people, the festival lasted until midnight every night. To protect the precious paintings, two practitioners stayed in the booth with the paintings each night. After 10:00 p.m. on the second night, five teenagers came into the booth jumping and running. As the two practitioners were trying to figure out a way to stop them, these kids started to notice the stories in the paintings. They calmed down to look at the paintings and read the descriptions carefully, one by one. Then a girl in the group insisted on buying the "Buddha Statue" by Prof. Zhang Kunlun. They left quietly once the practitioners told them that the paintings were not for sale.
Introducing the facts of the persecution through the painting exhibition |
When a practitioner was demonstrating the exercises, a lady started to pass by. For some reason, she was deeply touched, tears running down her face, and she started to learn the exercises right away.
People learn the exercises
A young gentleman from Goulburn drove an hour to the festival to find the Falun Gong booth just to buy an English version of Zhuan Falun. He spent as much on an entry ticket as on the book, even though he had come only to buy the book. He spent quite few hours exchanging understandings with practitioners that same day, showing that he was eager to learn Dafa.
It was heartwarming that many visitors came especially to the Falun Gong booth to encourage the practitioners. Most of the visitors had heard of the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, and they expressed their admiration for the practitioners' uncompromising spirits and their best wishes to the practitioners.
