Clarifying the truth
(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in New Zealand took part in the annual Parihaka International Peace Festival on March 10-12, 2006. Parihaka was originally a gathering place for the Maori people. A hundred and sixty years ago, the colonial British drove Maori far men away from their homes to do hard labor, and detained the women here at Parihaka to do slave labor. The Maori people later regained their freedom. To commemorate this period of history and to remind later generations to never repeat such a tragedy, a commemorative activity is held each year.
Practitioners set up the "Falun Dafa Practitioners Validating the Fa Photo Exhibit," as well as an anti-torture exhibit to expose the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. They also demonstrated the exercises, and gave waist drum and dance performances. Through the practitioners' clarifying the truth, many people learned about the persecution. People were shocked that there still is such brutal persecution in today's world. They inquired about how to help stop the catastrophe, and signed their names in support of stopping the persecution.
