(Clearwisdom.net) I read the article published in the No. 217 edition of "Minghui Weekly", entitled, "Walk My Path on the Fa and Do Well in the Three Things." I was deeply moved and I developed more understanding of the Fa. Here, I'd like to share my understandings with my fellow practitioners.
In that article the author said, "Recently, I came to realize that focusing on the three things and doing them well is the simplest way to deny the old forces' arrangements." In our cultivation, we have known that Teacher has changed our lives and arranged new paths for us to cultivate ourselves. Teacher said, "From the day that a Dafa disciple takes up cultivation his whole life is rearranged." ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles") However, in order to achieve their ulterior goals, the old forces also established a system for Falun Dafa practitioners. They tried to make the practitioners reach their requirements instead. Therefore, we would have taken the old forces' paths or partially followed the old forces if we didn't do what Teacher asked us to do or if we didn't do them well. How to completely deny the old forces' arrangements then? Let's review what Teacher said, in "Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York,"
"As for how to do things well, that means doing well in the three things that Dafa disciples should dothat is doing things best."
There is no doubt that we'll be able to completely deny the old forces' arrangements if we do well in the three things, since that's what Teacher told us. In that way, we'll be walking down the path arranged for us by Teacher. As true Falun Dafa cultivators, we are doing the three things that Teacher asked us to do. But we need to ask ourselves, "Are we doing them well? Have we reached Teacher's requirements?" The fellow practitioner in that article said we need to be totally focused. I think that is the correct state for doing the three things, which is having no other thoughts but being focused on the three things in order to validate the Fa and save sentient beings, and realize our grand wish that we made billions of years ago.
In order to achieve the state of being totally focused, we need to firmly believe in Teacher and the
Fa. In "Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles,"
"Disciple asks: If a person believes whatever Master says and doesn't think about it further, is that a correct state to be in?
Teacher: Gods will definitely think that person is extraordinary. But I would still like the person to read the books, and to study the Fa a lot."
I know a fellow practitioner who was illegally arrested in 2002. The police at the detention center interrogated her. No matter what the police asked her, her only answer was, "I don't know." The police then asked her, "So you believe whatever your teacher told you?" She said, "Yes. I believe everything that my Teacher told me." The police then asked with a sarcastic tone, "There is water in this plate. What if your teacher told you that it is dirt but not water? Do you agree that it is dirt then." She firmly answered, "Yes, it is dirt then. The water will be turned into dirt if my Teacher said so." The police didn't know how to make her give up her belief in Falun Dafa. Therefore, they let her go home. It was because that fellow practitioner totally believes in Teacher and the Fa that she was able to deny the old forces' arrangements, which in this case were to have her illegally detained.
Good cultivators are those who do well in the three things. We are supposed to cultivate in doing the three things. We are supposed to remove our attachments and improve ourselves when doing the three things. Teacher said,
"So you should try your best to do well the things that a Dafa disciple should do, and every single thing is of utmost importance. Ive asked you to do the three things well. You must do the three things well. You should do those things well all the way up to your Consummation. Your mighty-virtue and everything of your future come from those things." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Washington DC Fa Conference")
