Additional Information on the Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Shan Yuesheng from Jiangxi Province
Mr. Shan Yuesheng, 66, lived on Nongmao Street, Liantang Town, Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province. He retired from the Economics & Trade Committee in Nanchang County. Before he began to practice Falun Dafa in 1996, Mr. Shan suffered from a serious disease referred to as "an unusual syndrome of liver cirrhosis caused by late period bilharziasis." [1] After he began cultivating, he quickly regained his health.
After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, he peacefully appealed on behalf of Falun Dafa in Beijing in May 2000. When he returned from Beijing, members of the Liantang Township Government of Nanchang County and the Liantang Police Station searched his house without a warrant, confiscated 3000 yuan, and illegally detained him, as ordered by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The director of the Liantang Police Station Wang Yougen and the officer from the Economics & Trade Committee, Security Section, Liu Erkang, often made harassing phone calls to him, watched him closely, and deprived him of his personal freedom. This persecution caused his previous disease to return. He died in the first month of the Lunar Year of 2003.
