United Kingdom: Exposing the Crimes of the Chinese Communist Party in London's Chinatown (Photos)

May 02, 2005 |   By a UK practitioner

(Clearwisdom.net) On the 24th of April, Falun Gong practitioners in the UK once again organized an activity in London's Chinatown to promote Falun Gong and raise awareness of the persecution against the practice in Mainland China. This was part of the series of activities held in the UK to commemorate the April 25th appeal in 1999, when 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners went to inform the Chinese Government of the human rights abuses that had been happening to their fellow practitioners.

About thirty practitioners attended the activity held in Chinatown, which is a very busy part of London. The people who came included two young men who had only recently started to practice Falun Gong and a Chinese practitioner who escaped from the Mainland not long ago after suffering persecution. A golden banner reading, "Falun Gong is Good" was displayed, along with plenty of posters about the Falun Gong practice and the persecution. Some of these posters were placed next to practitioners demonstrating the exercises while the rest were hung up on either side of the pavement. A TV screen repeatedly played a video exposing the persecution.

There were lots of tourists in Chinatown that weekend. The tranquil combination of the peaceful Falun Gong music and the exercise demonstration attracted a lot of attention. There were always many Chinese and Western people stopping to watch. An elderly Indian person sat down with practitioners to learn the meditation exercise. Two Chinese girls asked about the nearest exercise sites where they could learn the practice for free. One of them said that she got to know about Falun Gong two years ago and that all her family in China practice. Practitioners seized the moment to distribute leaflets and talk to as many people as possible. They felt that their focus to expose the terrible crimes committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was a strong message that many people were waiting to hear.

A Chinese gentleman who used to work as a lawyer in China and now lives in the UK told practitioners that he knows very clearly that there is no law in China under the domination of the CCP and that the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is illegal and inhumane. An Englishman who once lived in China and now teaches Chinese to English people in London had a very long conversation with practitioners. He said he is clear on the fact that the CCP could do all kinds of evil thing because of its power; the persecution of Falun Gong is just one example.
