(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of December 11, 2005, several short plays were performed for the public at the art center of American University in Washington, D.C. All the plays were directed by theater students majoring in directing.
As the first act of the second scene began, a soothing but profound English song, "Coming for You" brought a sense of serenity to the audience. This melodious song was written by Falun Gong practitioners. The play, "Incident on Tiananmen Square," started with a western practitioner entering the stage with Tiananmen Square as the background.
In the play, the western Falun Gong practitioner runs into two Chinese art students on Tiananmen Square. They talked about traditional Chinese culture. The western practitioner told the Chinese students that the self-immolation on Tiananmen Square was actually a monstrous lie fabricated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to frame Falun Gong. A video of the self-immolation was played in slow motion on the large screen onstage. The murder of a self-immolation victim was clearly exposed to the audience. The western practitioner continued to tell the Chinese students that thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in China have lost their lives under the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
The two Chinese students were shocked. They realized that it would take a lot of courage to uncover the truth, but that it was a must for China's future. The western practitioner said calmly but firmly, "The people should know the true story of Falun Gong!" He demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises against the background of Tiananmen Square. The play ended in warm applause.
The play received warm feedback. The audience said it was a unique performance. They were deeply shaken and moved. They praised the Falun Gong practitioners' great courage in standing up to expose the CCP's crimes.
