(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners from Gothenburg and nearby areas carried out activities in downtown Gothenburg three days in row. After exhibiting a live anti-torture presentation on July 20, which caught the attention of the public, practitioners continued with the activities on July 21 and July 22. They collected signatures on a petition in support of Falun Gong and distributed a special flyer to mark the fifth anniversary of the persecution, with illustrations to reveal and expose the cruel torture methods used in China on Falun Gong practitioners.
The flyer also informed the public about how the persecution has spread outside China and about the lawsuits against those responsible for the persecution. It also explained a little about the very serious incident that recently took place in South Africa, where Falun Gong practitioners were shot at when they were on their way to prepare lawsuits against two high-ranking Chinese officials who were visiting South Africa. One practitioner was seriously injured in both feet as a result of the shooting. The police in South Africa have classified the incident as attempted murder. There are suspicions as to the Chinese regime having hired the gunmen to stop the practitioners because they were frightened that their criminal acts would be exposed to the world.

Falun Gong practitioners also demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises. They informed the public via loudspeakers about what Falun Gong is, about the persecution and that they were collecting signatures to stop the persecution in China. Lead singer Anders from the band, Yellow Express, also sang some songs and played the guitar.
Numerous people showed an interest and asked lots of questions. Many people, especially the younger ones, came forward to sign the petition. We felt that many people wanted to support Falun Gong, to bring an end to this terrible persecution that has been going on for five years.
