1. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Hao Rong's Life Is in Danger Due to Persecution in Harbin Women's Prison

Ms. Hao Rong lives in Yangming District of Mudanjiang City. She is a retired employee from the Kindergarten of the Hengfeng Paper Industry in Mudanjiang City. She used to suffer from incurable illnesses and recovered after practicing Falun Dafa, which was well-known locally.

At the end of 2003, Hao Rong was arrested for insisting on practicing Falun Dafa. Soon after, she was illegally sentenced to three years in prison and sent to Harbin Women's Prison. Her family members were not informed of her detention and sentence.

In prison, Falun Dafa practitioners are forced to perform "military exercise drills" and to do heavy labor. Since Hao Rong hinted during a meeting with her family members that the prison conditions were very poor, she was punished. Currently Hao Rong's old illnesses have come back. Due to persecution, she can no longer take care of herself and her life is in great danger.

2. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Wu Qincai's Whereabouts Is Unknown After Over a Month's Hunger Strike in the Detention Center

Ms. Wu Qincai, in her fifties, used to suffer from arthritis, heart problems, and numb limbs. Since she began to practice Falun Dafa, all her illnesses disappeared and she had a more harmonious life with her family members and colleagues.

Due to her belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance, the "610 Office" (1) in Anyang City instructed local policemen to follow her and watch her. They broke into her home, illegally searched her place, and arrested her many times. In September 2003, policemen broke into her home again, searched her place, and attempted to arrest her. Ever since, Wu Qincai was forced to leave home in order to avoid unlawful detention again.

On March 15, 2004, when Wu Qincai went to see her daughter-in-law who was giving birth to a child in Anyang Hospital, she was wrongfully abducted. After twelve days in Anyang Detention Center, she left with righteous thoughts. Four days later, she was arrested again. She then went on hunger strike for over a month. However, even when her life was in danger, the "610 Office" did not release her. Instead, the police guards force-fed her. She became emaciated due to the persecution. Presently the police have transferred her to an unknown location for further persecution, blocking the news totally. Wu Qincai's whereabouts are still unknown.

3. [Shuangliu County, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Lie Xinmin Arrested

Lie Xinmin, an employee of Shuangliu Gear Wheel Plant and a Falun Dafa practitioner, was forcibly abducted by Party Secretary Su of Wenxing Town who is mainly in charge of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. Currently, he is being detained in the Zhengxing Brainwashing Class of Shuangliu County.

4. [Yintong County, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Guoyi Illegally Detained

Liu Guoyi, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Mengjiatun of Yintong County, was arrested while putting up truth-clarifying materials on the evening of June 30. After 11:30 pm, the police sent him to the detention center after they went and searched his home.

5. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] The Police Follow and Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners

On May 26, 2004, Wei Zhengyong was driven to Chengdu City by his work unit, to study high-speed internet technology. When the vehicle came to a toll booth in Ziyang City, several vehicles from the Ziyang "610 Office", the Politics & Law Committee, the National Security Team and the Public Security Bureau were waiting for him. The authorities dragged Wei Zhengyong violently out of the car. They removed Wei's leather belt and shoelaces and covered his head with a black cloth. Then they put him into another vehicle and drove him to Wohu Villa in Jianyang City, where they conducted an illegal interrogation. After that, Wei Zhengyong was detained for three days.

At the end of May 2004, policemen staking out the home of Dong Yuying a Ziyang practitioner, followed her to Dayi County in Sichuan Province. When she got off the bus, the policemen abducted her and unlawfully took her to the Ziyang Detention Center.

6. [Anning City, Yunan Province] The National Security Team Arrests Practitioner Guo Hongyun

Guo Hongyun, a practitioner from Phosphate Fertilizer Industry Limited Company in Anning City, was abducted on his way back from visiting his relatives at around 6:00 pm on June 30. Many plainclothes policemen were involved in the arrest. After that, the plainclothes policemen went to his home and searched thoroughly. They confiscated his family computer, more than ten copies of Dafa books, and notebooks without justification. At the same time, using a fabricated excuse of conducting a hearing, they forcibly took his wife, Ms. Wang Zhimei, to the police substation and interrogated her in turn till the next day without allowing her to sleep at all.

7. [Zhunhua City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Li Chunying and Her Family Are Subjected to Persecution

Ms. Li Chunying from Xiaonian Village, Baozidian Town of Zhunhua City, was illegally sentenced to a forced labor camp. She escaped later with righteous thoughts.

Her daughter, Li Guoxia, was sentenced to forced labor in September 2000. She was released after over a year's illegal detention. Currently she has had to leave home in order to avoid further persecution.

Her son, Li Guoliang, was sentenced to forced labor as well. In April 2004, Li Guoliang was unlawfully taken to Hehuakeng Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.

Her husband who is suffering from complications caused by a stroke, her daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren are left at home.

Her nephew, Li Haidong, was illegally sentenced to forced labor in 2002 and hasn't been released yet. Two more nephews, Li Guosheng and Li Guoliang, are detained in forced labor camps as well. Her younger sister, Li Chunyan, is to be sentenced to forced labor.

8. [Suzhou City, Anhui Province] Dangshan Policemen Arrest Many Falun Dafa Practitioners

In early 2004, many Falun Gong flyers, banners, and signs exposing the police's crimes against Falun Gong and explaining the facts of the persecution appeared in Dangshan County. The "610 Office" in Suzhou City assigned some people to stay in Dangshan County in order to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. They arranged plainclothes policemen to get close to practitioners whom they suspected. Shao Zhufeng, Vice Director of Dangshan Public Security Bureau, led a group of policemen and arrested practitioners Zhang Hongzhan, Wei Shezhang, Lei Ming, Zhang Liying and Hu Jinling, etc. Practitioner Wang Yuming has been placed on the wanted list. Once arrested, Practitioners are subjected to brutal beatings and attempts to extort a confession. They are currently being kept in custody in Dangshan Detention Center.

9. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Practitioners Huang Jinfeng and Wang Jinxing Are Sentenced to Forced Labor

Jinhua practitioners Huang Jinfeng, 69 years old, and Wang Jinxing, in his thirties, were abducted in May and taken to a brainwashing class. Presently, they are sentenced to two years of forced labor.

10. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Zhang Shuping Is Arrested Three Times

Zhang Shuping, a practitioner from Baifu Village, Gaomo Township of Yi County, Baiding City, was abducted for the third time by policemen from Gaomo Township Police Substation. Zhang Shuping's whereabouts are still unknown.

11. [Hangzhou City, Zhejinag Province] High School Teacher Is Illegally Detained

Ms. Zhao Mi is a teacher from Shuren High School in Hangzhou City. In 2001, she walked out of the brainwashing class held in Yuhang with righteous thoughts. After that, she has not been able to return home in order to avoid being unlawfully arrested again.

At the end of March 2004, Zhao Mi and a Ph.D student of Zhejiang University named Zhan Guohui were abducted in Zhengzhou City by Hanzhou Public Security Bureau. Due to the appeal of Chen Dongyu, Zhan Guohui's fianc¨¦ from New Zealand, Zhan Guohui was released one month later. However, Zhao Mi is still being detained. Zhao Mi's husband, Mr. Wei Xiaolin, is in North America.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zhang Jiehui and Gao Zhihong, a Married Couple, Are Arrested

Zhang Jiehui and Gao Zhihong, a married couple, were followed and reported while distributing truth-clarifying materials at around 9:00 pm on July 2. "110" policemen arrested them and forcibly took them to Kuancheng District Branch in Changchun City. The couple was then transferred to Xingye Street Police Station. The next day, they were taken to Daguang Detention Center.

13. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] More Than Twenty Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Arrested

Xingtai "610 Office", together with the National Security Team of the city, abducted about twenty practitioners including Zhang Baozhong, Yang Qinghua and Huo Guilan. Over a dozen practitioners were taken to Xingtai Brainwashing Class, where they were subjected to forcible brainwashing and extorted 10,000 yuan [equal to almost two years' annual income of an ordinary worker in China]. They were released one by one a month later.

14. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Kang Yunling Is Arrested

Practitioner Kang Yunling was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Dongfeng County on the afternoon of July 5.

15. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Practitioner Tang Qingfen Is Detained

Ms. Tang Qingfen, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Nanyang City, was detained for explaining the truth of Falun Dafa to people in March. On July 1, Wolong District Procuratorate illegally issued the arrest order. Currently she is being kept in custody in Nanyang No.1 Detention Center.

16. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Practitioner Li Houli Is Seriously Injured

In March 2004, practitioner Li Houli and three fellow practitioners were reported by patients' family members while explaining the truth of Falun Dafa in a hospital of Wuhan Steel & Iron Plant. Li Houli fell from the fourth floor and was seriously injured during the arrest.

17. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Two Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp

Two Handan practitioners, Ms. Zhu Jingxue and Ms. Yang Lihua were reported while distributing truth-clarifying materials. They were arrested and then sentenced to forced labor camp. Zhu Jingxue was sentenced to three years while Yang Lihua was sentenced to one year. They were taken to Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.
