(clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in northern California held an Anti-Torture Exhibition on Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco on June 26, United Nations International Day to Support Torture Victims. The exhibition revealed the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin's regime in China and called for conscience and the end of persecution.

A Cage Is No Place That Falun Dafa Practitioners Deserve
A woman Falun Gong practitioner demonstrated the torture method of confining the victim to a cage. As soon as she entered the cage, she had a strong feeling that it is no place that Falun Gong practitioners deserve. She told reporters that Falun Gong teaches "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Because it benefits so many people, more and more joined the self-cultivation of Falun Gong. Out of jealousy, Jiang Zemin ordered the persecution and caused such torture: kind Falun Gong practitioners are confined in cages.
She also said that tortures of Falun Gong practitioners have received international attention. On June 4, 2003, United Nations Special Rapporteur, Theo van Boven, wrote a letter to inform the Chinese government about a torture method used in Chinese prisons: water dungeon. Naked victims are forced in a small steel cage with nails pointing inward all over the cage. The cage is then lowered to a filthy water tank in a dungeon. Water can go as high as the victim's chest or neck. He is usually confined like this for days or even weeks. Urine and excrement have to be passed in the water.
Anti-Torture Exhibition Motivates People to Work against Torture
Many people watched the entire torture demonstration. Some stayed as long as two hours. Some asked Falun Gong practitioners, "Please tell me what I can do." Some said, "I will tell my family, friends and colleagues about the persecution of Falun Gong in China." Many people signed their names in support of anti-torture movement.
Mr. Brian Lee is a high school teacher in southern California. He teaches East History and has a lot of respect for Chinese history and culture. He knew about Falun Gong. After visiting the exhibition, he decided to tell his students about the persecution of Falun Gong when he went back.
Some people were so shocked to see the torture demo that they asked Falun Gong practitioners if they need any help with calling 911.
The Chief Perpetrator Will Be Brought to Justice
For the past five years, Jiang's regime has been persecuting Falun Gong practitioners with the most extreme tortures. The chief perpetrator, Jiang Zemin, has committed crimes against the nation's constitution and abused his power to coerce the government, party and people to assist with his crimes.
The Chinese government, under Jiang's control, claimed that nobody had died from torture and that the deaths were caused by suicide, heart attacks and natural causes. As a matter of fact, police burned Falun Gong practitioners on the body, mouth, and genital area with electric batons. Other torture methods include driving nails into the fingers, beating with batons and steel rods, sexual insults and raping. Crimes are too numerous to list.
The "610 Office" was established to carry out the policy to persecute Falun Gong of "destroying them physically." Up to today, confirmed deaths from torture have reached 996. According to the Chinese Communist Party's official statistics in October 2001, the death toll had hit 1,600. The arbitrary use of violence is due to Jiang's order of "You are free to beat them to death. Their death will be treated as suicides" and "cremation without identification."
Jiang is facing lawsuits in many countries for the persecution of Falun Gong. The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and attorneys are holding discussions on how to bring torture crimes and the chief perpetrator to justice. Punishment for those responsible for the persecution is also on the way internationally.
