Good begets good, and evil begets evil
Young farmer Chao of Tianmen Village in Heping City would say to whomever he met, "Every day I tear down several dozen Falun Gong posters from the walls and power posts. I do this every day! How come I don't see retribution happening to me?" After less than a month, he drove a small four-wheeled vehicle and collided with a truck. One of his legs was broken into three sections and he had to be hospitalized. His wife who sells snacks, had no choice but to quit her business in order to take care of him. His family, which is not well off to begin with, now faces additional financial difficulties.
Former Party Secretary in Anxin County, Hebei Province receive retribution and dies
Huang Fazeng, former Party Secretary in Anxin County, Hebei Province, later became the Xushui County Party Secretary. A Party Secretary from another county visited him in early 2000 to get his suggestions for how to prevent Falun Gong practitioners from going Beijing to appeal. Huang Fazeng told him, "The villagers are most afraid of having their property ransacked and confiscated. Those that hold ranks are afraid of being fired. Thus, whoever goes to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, you should have his residence ransacked and property confiscated. If they are local officials who hold rank, you should have them fired. As a result of Huang's idea, many people who went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong had their property confiscated and were fired from their posts. However, slightly a month after this incident, Huang Fazeng was diagnosed with cancer and died not long afterwards. Subsequently, his son also died in a car accident.
[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]
