The following is an account of the persecution experienced by a family of Falun Dafa practitioners: Perpetrators from the village committee, the police station and the town government often harassed my father, Liu Hongji, and mother, Han Zhengmei, because they persisted in practicing Dafa. My father was sent to a brainwashing class in 2002, held by the Qingdao City "610 Office" (1). In addition, 1,000 Yuan (2) was extorted from him. My sister, Liu Xiufang, went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. She was arrested on both occasions and was sent to a mental hospital to be tortured. Her house was bulldozed and her mother-in-law had 13,200 Yuan extorted from her. On January 11, 2002, my sister Liu Xiufang and Liu Xiuzhen, who is not a Dafa practitioner but who knows the truth about Dafa, as well as my nephew Yang Naijian, were arrested when clarifying the truth in Xianjiazhai. My eldest sister was sentenced to two years and three months of forced labor. She was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo, Shandong Province. However, a medical exam found her to have a uterine tumor and the labor camp refused to take her. My nephew was brutally beaten and sent to Qingdao City Forced Labor Camp.

Sixty-three-year old Dafa practitioner Ms. Xiao Shufen from Mudanjiang City was abducted several times and was held at the Xinglong Detention Center. In late 2002, Xiao Shufen was again abducted. The Mudanjiang City Police Department tortured her for seven days and seven nights. They tied her to a stool and force-fed her mustard oil. Then they covered her head with a plastic bag until she almost lost consciousness. They used iron pliers to pull her teeth, and to pinch her fingers and fingernails. They also subjected her to prolonged sleep deprivation. They tortured her repeatedly until she was on the brink of death. Xiao Shufen is currently being held at the Harbin Female Prison.

The persecution experiences of several Dafa practitioners in Chifeng City, Neimenggu Autonomous Region: On March 2, 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ruixia was abducted and sent to the Yuanbaoshan Mine Police Station where she was forced to stand for five or six days continuously. On March 8, she was sent to the Pingzhuang Detention Center where she held a hunger strike. She was savagely force-fed and 5,000 Yuan was extorted from her before she was released. Ms. Li was then forced to leave home in order to avoid further persecution. Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Qian was unlawfully detained several times and was also sent to a brainwashing class. He was incarcerated at a labor camp for two years during which time he was force-fed and beaten until his ribs were broken. Dafa practitioner Yuan Aiwu was unconstitutionally detained several times and fined, and was forced to leave home in order to avoid further persecution. Dafa practitioner Liu Jianghe was sentenced to forced labor and is currently being held at the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in Jalait Qi, Nei Monggol Autonomous Region. The perpetrators extorted between 30,000 Yuan to 40,000 Yuan from his family.

On April 25, 2004, young Falun Gong practitioners at the Taipei Minghui School, located at the University of Taiwan Business School, got together to study Dafa books. Falun Gong practitioners from the university's Law School told the young practitioners the story of the April 25, 1999 peaceful appeal that took place five years ago.

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2) Yuan is the Chinese currency; 500 Yuan is equal to the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.
