1. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yang Fang on Hunger Strike at Huaiyang County's Detention Center and in Critical Condition
Ms. Yang Fang is a 38-year-old Dafa practitioner from Zhoukou City, Henan Province. Zhoukou City's Police Department officers had arrested her numerous times for appealing and distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials. She was held in custody centers and detention centers and sent to forced labor camps.
In the spring of 2003, Yang Fang was forced to live in exile because of harassment and pressure from Gao Feng, a police officer from the National Security Brigade of the Shanan Police Precinct. On February 20, 2004, Yang Fang was arrested and held at Zhoukou City's Custody Center. Later she was transferred to Huaiyang County's Detention Center. Yang Fang has staged a hunger strike since her arrest. In previous times when her family visited her, she could still walk by herself. But recently, several people carried her out in a sheet. She is in a critical condition.
2. [Tang County, Hebei Province] Arrest of Doctor Sun Dongchen, His Son and Daughter-in-law
Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Dongchen is a doctor who is nearly 60 years old in Beishangsu Village, Beiluo Town, Tang County, Hebei Province. On March 17, 2004, he was reported to the police. Officers from the Beiluo Police Precinct and Tang County's "610 Office" (1) arrested him, his son Sun Shuangjin and his daughter-in-law, though the couple are not practitioners. The policemen also took away some Dafa books, Minghui articles, and truth clarification materials and letters.
Right now, these people are being held at Tang County's Detention Center. The guards don't allow their family to see them. Dr. Sun Dongchen's two grandchildren, who are students, his over 60-year-old wife and his 92-year-old mother-in-law are left home without care. His wife could not eat anything and has been sick, confined to bed since his arrest.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Nine-Year Prison Sentence of Renowned Engineer Wu Yifeng
Mr. Wu Yifeng is a Dafa practitioner and teaches at the Jilin Architecture and Engineering School in Changchun City. He was an associate professor and the director of the Road and Bridge Department. The dean had promoted him to a professorship, but the promotion was withdrawn because he practices Falun Gong. Mr. Wu was one of the several renowned bridge experts in Northeastern China. According to an inside source at the school, in the summer of 2003, Zhu Yejing, the mayor of Changchun City, talked with Wu and told him if he gave up Dafa practice he could reclaim every honor and position. However, Wu firmly refused the offer and was later sentenced to nine years imprisonment.
His wife visited him at Jilin Province Prison recently and said he was emaciated from torture. Mr. Wu was then sent to Siping City for further persecution.
4. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Gao Yanjin and Chen Zhiguo
On March 22, 2004, officers from Longgang District's Police Department arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Gao Yanjin and Mr. Chen Zhiguo from Huludao City at their workplace. The detention location is unknown.
5. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioners Lei Yong and Shen Guifeng and Detention at a Brainwashing Class
Dafa practitioner Mr. Lei Yong is an employee of the Gezhouba Hydroelectric Dam No.1 Company. On March 15, 2004, Zhou Xiangdong, an official from Yiling District's National Security Brigade in Yichang City and Zhao Daqiao, the company's Security Section chief, summoned Lei Yong to the company's office under the pretense of work. When he arrived, they arrested him. They told his family that Lei Yong was studying "law" at Room 26 in Wuhan City's Hongqi Hotel, and he could not be released unless he gave up Falun Gong practice within one month.
Practitioner Ms. Shen Guifeng was also sent to the same brainwashing class. She had been forced to live in exile since 2002. In early 2004, officials told her family that they wouldn't arrest her if she went home, but they arrested her right after she returned home. Because Dafa practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts together, she was released one day later. The next day, unfortunately, officials sent her to Wuhan City's Brainwashing Class.
6. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of a Non-practitioner for Inputting "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance" in a Cellular Phone Text Message
During the Spring Festival of 2004, Mr. Shao Zhongquan, a Dafa practitioner's husband who does not practice himself, sent two friends short cell phone text messages, "Forever remember 'Truth-Compassion-Tolerance,' have a bright future."
Several days ago, Shao Zhongquan was arrested and held at Fuxin City's Xindi Detention Center. This small incident was considered by the authorities to be a serious criminal case.
7. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Zhang Shunying
In the evening of February 25, 2004, plainclothes police broke into the home of Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Shunying in the Dongpu District, Guangzhou City. They handcuffed her and her husband and took them away. They also took all of their Falun Dafa books and ransacked their home, as well as his son and daughter's homes. Afterwards, they took her husband Mr. Fang Jianmin to his factory dormitory and ransacked his residence there. They continuously interrogated him for 48 hours. Later, Fang Jianmin suffered a relapse of heart disease and his blood pressure reached 210 mmHg. He was on the brink of death, so the police released him to avoid being held responsible should he die.

8. [Beijing] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Guo Baowen
Dafa practitioner Ms. Guo Baowen from Beijing, around 50 years of age, is living at Beitaiping Village, Haidian District. She started practicing cultivation in 1996. Since July 20, 1999 she has been arrested for insisting on cultivation. On January 13, 2004, when she went to her own work unit to distribute truth-clarifying CDs and other information, someone reported her. At around 6:00 a.m. on January 15, six or seven officers from Xicheng District's Police Precinct went to her home to arrest her. At 2:00 p.m. they took her away and confiscated all of the Dafa materials at her home. She was taken to the police precinct and then transferred to Fengtai District's Detention Center. It is said that she was sent to the Xicheng District's Prosecutor's Office and the arrest warrant was issued recently.
9. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Persecution Cases of Dafa Practitioners from Tuanjie Township
On February 28, 2004, two officers from Shuangcheng City's Political & Security Section, along with Xiong Chunguo from Tuanjie Township's Police Precinct and Zhang Chenghua and Yu Hongfan from the township government confiscated Master's picture, a Falun emblem and a poster with the words from "Lun Yu" [statement of comments in the beginning of the book Zhuan Falun, the main Falun Dafa teachings] poster from practitioner Mr. Sun Huishan's home at Kuaile Village. They also confiscated Master's picture and Dafa exercise music cassette tapes from practitioner Mr. Song Zhiguang's home. In addition, they took cassette tapes of Master's lectures from Ms. Zhao Guoxiang's home at Tuanjie Village.
In Fuguo Village, Xiong Chunguo from the township police precinct, Yu Hongfan from the township government, Wang Yufeng, a village committee member and an official from the city's political security section confiscated Master's picture, tore off the wall signs and poetry at practitioner Mr. Zhao Guangxi's home. They also confiscated a greeting card from practitioner Mr. Du Wenju's home.
Several perpetrators invaded the home of practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuyan at Hongsheng Village. Four or five policemen from the city's Political & Security Section and Ai Changyan from the township's police precinct confiscated all of their Dafa books and Master's picture, and arrested Ms. Wang Xiuyan. Dafa practitioner Wang went on a hunger strike in the city's Second Detention Center to protest the unlawful arrest. They released her on the ninth day of her detention. After her release, personnel from the city's court led by Ai Changyan of the precinct attempted to arrest her again, but they failed since she was not there.
10. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Baoji City's Educational Administration Bureau Organizes Activities Slandering Dafa in Schools
After the start of the new semester in 2004, Baoji City's Educational Administration Bureau sent pamphlets slandering Dafa to every school and requested each teacher to read it to students or slander Dafa with blackboard journals. Some students told the teacher that they didn't want to read this. Recently they sent these pamphlets to the heads of villages and schools. Teachers forced students to curse Dafa, or the students wouldn't be allowed to go to school. In Baoji City's downtown areas, in the streets, roads, and parks, lawless officials had pictures defaming Falun Dafa hung up everywhere.
11. [Chongqing] Arrest of more than a Dozen Practitioners from the Wanzhou Area
As the Fa-rectification process is accelerating, many practitioners in the Wanzhou Area joined the process of Fa-rectification. In February 2004, officials in Wanzhou Area's Longbao Working Committee in Chongqing issued a document, a "100-day-plan of further persecute Falun Gong." If over 30 Dafa flyers were found in an area, officials responsible for that area were punished. A team was set up, headed by Luo Bin, the Longbao Police Precinct chief, for another raid against practitioners. Since February 14, the team has arrested over a dozen practitioners without any warrant, including Song Mingzhi, Liu Qingxiu, Zhao Xingmei, Huang Yonggui, Zuo Tianxiu, Dong Juyuan, Chu Taibo, Shao Guangyu, and Liu Chaohui. They arrested the practitioners and ransacked their homes.
12. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Yu Guoliang
In the early morning of March 22, 2004, officers from Chaoyang County's Nanshuangmiao Police Precinct arrested practitioner Mr. Yu Guoliang from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, 42 years old, and put him into the Shijiahetao Detention Center, where he is being held now.

13. [Chongqing] Persecution Against a Dafa Practitioner in Chongqing's No.18 Secondary School
There are over ten Dafa practitioners in No.18 Secondary School, two of whom have been sent to a forced labor camp.
Ms. Wang Shubi, 55, a teacher, is sentenced to two years of forced labor.
Mr. Chen Changjun, 52, a teacher, his brother, Mr. Chen Changquan and his daughter Ms. Chen Yan were illegally sentenced to two year of forced labor. After two years of severe persecution and abuse, Chen Changjun was disabled and upon his release left the forced labor camp on crutches. After he went back home his salary was cut, he received no bonus and he was demoted in his teaching position. Furthermore, the Party secretary and the personnel from the Security Section often harassed him. In 2003, police officers attempted to arrest his wife. His wife had to leave home and live in different places in order to avoid arrest.

On March 18, 2004, police arrested Dafa practitioner Luo Yunxi from Huoqiu County and sent him into Huoqiu County's Detention Center. Policemen Zhang Lizhou is the head of the National Security Team of Huoqiu County's Police Department.

Policemen from Wuxue City's Shifosi Police Precinct arrested Ms. Wang Feng'e, a Dafa practitioner from Jigongling Village, Shifosi Town, Wuxue City for making truth-clarifying materials.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Arrest of Several Dafa Practitioners in the Shuangyang District
On February 26, 2004, Dr. Song, a physician at the No. 3 Division, Lijia Village, Qijia Town, Shuangyang District was forcibly taken away. Cui Chunkui, an official from Shuangyang District's "610 Office" and Bo Ying, secretary of the town's Party committee, entrapped him to get in a car. His family had inquired about his whereabouts with any means possible. They were finally told that he was sent to Changchun City's Xinglongshan Brainwashing Class.
On the night of March 5, when Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Yulian studied the Fa at Zhao Suqin's home, officers from Shuangyang District's Police Department arrested them. They are now being detained at Shuangyang District's Detention Center.
On March 8, the police took away Ms. Tian Yuan, Dafa practitioner Zhao Suqin's disabled daughter.

18. [Gansu Province] Policemen of Jinchang City's Police Department Arrest Dafa Practitioners and Extort Them
On October 23, 2003, officers from Jinchang City's Police Department illegally arrested six Dafa practitioners. Practitioners Wang Yukang, Ms. Wei Fengling, Ms. Gong Yuehua and Ms. Cao Fang were extorted 1,500 Yuan each before being released. Because Ms. Li Dexiang and Ms. Zhao Fenglian had no money, they have been detained till now. However, on February 23, 2004, because of the two Party Conferences, policemen used that as an excuse and arrested Wang Yukang, Wei Fengling and Gong Yuehua again.
