Facts of the Persecution
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Huo Yinshan is from Yuji Township, Linghai City, Liaoning Province. In November 2001 Mr. Huo went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. He was abducted and sent to the Jingzhou City Forced Labor Camp. In June 2002, because Mr. Huo tried to escape the persecution, his sentence was extended by eight months. One evening, the prison guards cuffed Huo's hands behind his back and put a helmet on his head. Huo was not allowed to sit or sleep. When he got too tired and started to doze off, the guards would hit the helmet with a wooden bat. In March 2003 prison guard Li Songtao forced Huo to sit cross-legged, and then tied Huo's legs with a rope, cuffed his hands, and hung him by his wrists. Several prison guards then took turns stepping on Huo's legs until he almost lost consciousness from the pain. Prison guards involved in the incident included Li Songtao, Zhang Chunfeng, Zhang Jiabing, and Yang Tinglun. Mr. Huo remains in jail and continues to be tortured.
On March 17, Daqing City Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Tang Zengyie was sent to Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center to be tortured and brainwashed. The torture methods used on Tang included the "Iron Chair" (1), electric shock, "Ghost Haircut" (2), "Riding an Airplane" (3), being soaked with cold water, being tied with icepack to the body, and being injected with unknown substances. In order to protest the persecution, Tang started a hunger strike. But she was tied to a chair and force-fed by prison guards Li Quanming, Yi Na, Wang Limei, and a few inmates. The force-feeding was so brutal that Ms. Tang bled all over her clothes on several occasions. Afraid of being held responsible for doing such evil, the guards had someone change Tang out of her blood-soaked clothes. After the force-feeding, Tang was dragged to watch brainwashing videotapes. Later on, the guards just pinned Tang to the floor during force-feeding. Finally, ordered by team leader Dong Meiguang, the evildoers dragged Ms. Tang to the bathroom for force-feedings.
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Guilan, from Luanping County, Hebei Province, tells her own experience during the persecution: Four police officers came to my home that day. They were Xu Yancheng (head of the local National Security Unit), Ma Haidong (assistant unit head), Cheng Liming, and Liu Shiwei (female). I did not open the door, so they broke in through a window. As soon as they got in, Xu Yangcheng and Cheng Liming hit me in my face. They handcuffed me and took me to a detention center, where Ma Haidong held me down while Xu Yangcheng used an electric baton to shock me. My back was covered with blisters from the electric shocks. The next day, six or seven policemen surrounded me. They stripped off my upper clothes and used electric batons to shock my breasts and nipples. One of them, policeman Zhang Hong, forced alcohol down my throat. They tortured me with "Riding an Airplane." I was also forced to squat down with my head clamped between Zhang Dajun's legs while the others used electric batons to shock me. They also violently yanked me on and off the bed by my handcuffs.
Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Ming, 34, is from Fulin Township, Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province. On October 25, 2000 Yu Jun, the Secretary of Fulin Political and Judiciary Committee, and a policeman brought Mr. Li back from Beijing, where he had gone to appeal for Falun Gong. Li Ming was detained at the Tonghe Detention Center. The head of the local National Security Unit, Ma Debo, and Cheng Yongkuan beat Li viciously. Prison guard Jin Minyu handcuffed and tortured him late into the night. On March 1, 2001 Li Ming was again secretly taken to the Tonghe Detention Center. He was beaten by police officers Ci Haibo, Guo Biao, and others from Nonghe Police Station. Guo Biao kicked Li's throat so hard that he could not speak for a long time. In the middle of a bitter winter, they stripped Li naked, forced him to face an open window, and did not allow him to sleep. Li was subjected to both physical and psychological torture.
Facts about the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in Xinji Township, Sanhe City, Hebei Province: On November 26, 2001, Falun Gong practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal were brought back to the township police station. Over two dozen police officers, including the head of the police station Wang Zhendong and the secretary of the local Political and Judiciary Committee Yang Shaolin were involved in interrogations and beatings of the practitioners. They forced all the practitioners to kneel down. Wang Zhendong asked practitioner Ms. Kan Yufang how many times she went to Beijing to appeal. Before Kan could answer, Wang Zhendong picked up a broom made of bamboo and started hitting her in the face. Ms. Kan's face was covered with bruises from the beating. Another practitioner, Li Qingzeng, was beaten until she lost consciousness, and she lost a lot blood due to a bleeding nose. Ms. Zhang Xiumin was beaten so badly that her face became deformed. The police also illegally searched Ms. Li Shujun and took 160 Yuan (4) that she was carrying. They then threatened her husband and forced him to pay 500 Yuan for her release. Facts revealed about the persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Lu Yirong in brainwashing centers in Guangzhou City: On February 23, the "610 Office" (5) in Guangzhou abducted Ms. Lu Yirong and sent her to Chatou Brainwashing Center, where Ms. Lu was tortured to the brink of death. She was so weak that she could not eat or drink. She was then transferred to Sanshui Brainwashing Center. Her family vehemently demanded her release, and on March 19 she was let go. While Ms. Lu was in the brainwashing center, she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong. The police thus cuffed her hands and hung her up so that only her toes were touching the floor. Ms. Lu was hung like this for 15 consecutive days and nights. Her legs swelled up severely from the torture. The police also ordered drug addicts to monitor her and beat her.
