1. [Wuqiao County, Hebei Province] Police Beat Dafa Practitioner
Du Hongyue
On April 2, 2004, officers from Wuqiao County's Police Department collaborated with policemen from Jing County's Police Department. They captured Dafa practitioner Ms. Du Hongyue by staking out the vacant house of her non-practitioner sister, which had been entrusted to Ms Du's care. They took Ms. Du to Wuqiao County's Police Department, and interrogated her while torturing her with excruciating methods. A witness saw Du Hongyue's face beaten black and blue; her clothes were torn in many places. Du Hongyue has begun to stage a hunger strike to protest the cruel torture.
Another news source says policemen went into and ransacked Du Hongyue's home after she had been arrested. They stole a cell phone and 100 Yuan in savings when nobody was at home. Detailed information is under investigation.

2. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Dafa Practitioner Li Ruqin Arrested
Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Ruqin from Zhaoqing City was arrested. She was once held at the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp between 2000 and 2001.
3. [Wuqiao County, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Gao Lihua Passes Away
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Lihua, 43 years old, was from Liuji Village, Liuji Township, Jing County, Hebei Province and was an employee of Wuqiao County's Food Administration Bureau Food Factory. Prior to practicing Falun Gong, she had severe heart disease and many other health problems. After Falun Gong practice, her diseases disappeared.
From late 2001 to 2004, in order to avoid being illegally arrested and brainwashed, she and her practitioner husband Mr. Liu Zhigang were forced to live in exile. During that period, policemen from Wuqiao County's Police Department and Jing County's Police Department harassed them several times. Policemen from Jing County's Police Department ransacked their living quarters, intimidated and even beat the couple's parents and relatives. Gao Lihua didn't have the privilege of her former free environment; she suffered for a long time in stressful situations. As a result, many of her diseases recurred and she even had apparent symptoms of stomach cancer. She was sent to a hospital on January 22, 2004, and passed away after unsuccessful medical treatment in March 2004.
During the funeral, officers from Wuqiao County's Police Department monitored Lu Zhigang's home village Mazhuang in Jing County and interrogated all persons who entered the village. They also followed Liu Zhigang's relatives who attended the funeral in an attempt to arrest him.
4. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners from the Anju Community Arrested
Around April 5, 2004, officers from Suining City's Anju Police Precinct in Sichuan Province broke into practitioners Mr. Zeng Jimin, Mr. Liao Xianbin and Mr. Zhan Zhengzhong's homes and arrested them.
Dafa practitioner Zhan Zhengzhong, a retired forestry industry employee, is nearly 70 years old.
This is the third arrest for practitioner Liao Xianbin.
Dafa practitioner Zeng Jimin, 40 years old, is a renowned Anju area veterinarian who is kindhearted and willing to help others. Everyone in Anju Town and in the villages thinks highly of him. Because of his arrest, he had to close his own veterinary medicine business and food store, creating great inconvenience for many farmers. Now Zeng Jimin's frightened, 70-year-old parents are left at home without care.
5. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Arrest of Dafa Practitioner Chen Xuerong
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Xuerong, in his forties, from Quanzhuang Village, Yeyuan Town, Linqu County, Shandong province was abducted by police and taken to Liqu County's "610 Office" base. Her situation is unclear at this time.
