A school in northern China arranged for the students to watch a movie. The school officials did not disclose the content of the movie beforehand. Once the movie started, it was full of propaganda slandering Falun Gong. Suddenly, the audience became restless. Many students said loudly, "It's all fake and deception! We're leaving, don't watch it!"

Although the teacher who had taken them there was trying to drag the students back into the theater and shut the door, many students managed to get away. One young Dafa practitioner came home and told others the story. She said, "They can't fool anyone anymore, not even kids."

Right after the Chinese New Year of 2004, officials from a city in Hebei frequently received phone calls from Falun Gong practitioners outside of China, telling them the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officials became panicked, and released a statement slandering Dafa and asked for it to be posted in every county, town, and village.

A Dafa practitioner living in a village east of the city learned about the statement and immediately sought out the village officials to tell them about the true nature of Dafa. The village officials said, "We only posted a few of the fliers. You can practice however you want and as for the announcements, you can remove them if you want. I will tell the higher-ups the wind must have blown the announcements down if they come to inspect us." The Dafa practitioner has been delivering information and VCDs containing the facts about Falun Gong to the officials on a regular basis.

Several police officers from an area in northern China did not initially know the true nature of Dafa. A practitioner from the same area used to go to Beijing to appeal because of the persecution of Falun Gong. Hence, the officers expended a lot of effort monitoring this practitioner. The practitioner and other local practitioners constantly explained the facts about Dafa to these officers. The officers gradually understood the truth and started to protect the practitioners.

One day, a person who did not know the true nature of Falun Gong came to the police station to report a practitioner for doing the exercises. A police officer asked him, "Did you see the practitioner exercise outside?" That person replied, "No, she exercised at home." The moment the officer heard this, he became angry, "Then why are you reporting her?" The person said, "Won't I be paid 10 yuan (1) for each practitioner I report?" The officer yelled angrily, "This Falun Gong practitioner never asked for one cent from the government. She works to support herself and does not cause trouble to anyone. It would be great if everyone would behave like her!"

Two officials came to a young Dafa practitioner's home one day before school started and brought the family's subsidy of 200 yuan. The young practitioner said, "I heard there was a practitioner that was denied the subsidy because he would not give up his belief and would not write a Guarantee Statement (2). Are you trying to make my mother write a Guarantee Statement? If so, we don't want the money." The officials burst into laughter and said, "We won't make your mother write a Guarantee Statement. This subsidy is for you."

These officials used to be poisoned by the deceitful propaganda broadcast on TV and often came to the young practitioner's home to harass the family and try to force them to write a Guarantee Statement. One time these officials reported the young practitioner's mother to the police because she would not write a Guarantee Statement. The mother was arrested, taken to the police station, and then imprisoned. The family spent 2,000 yuan to gain her release. The father was sent to a labor camp because he insisted on practicing Falun Gong. After other Dafa practitioners explained the facts about Falun Gong to these officials, the officials eventually realized that Dafa practitioners were good people and stopped persecuting them. The officials felt guilty about what they had done to the practitioners in the past and this is why they had brought the subsidy to the practitioner's home.

(1) Yuan: Chinese currency. 500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.

(2) Guarantee Statement: A statement declaring that he or she feels remorse for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and not to associate with other Falun Dafa practitioners.
