Ms. Cui Zhenhuan, is a 58 year old resident of the Agriculture Science Institute, Tieling City, Liaoning Province. On July 11, 2000, because she was steadfast in her practice of Falun Dafa, the Hongqi Police Station, Branch Office of the Public Security Department at Yinzhou District, Tieling City, arrested and detained her at the Lieling City Detention Center. Not long after that, she was transferred to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp at Shenyang City, Liaoning Province for two years of unlawful detention. At the Masanjia concentration camp, she was subjected to brainwashing until she was released on November 17, 2002 when her sentence was completed. After her release Ms. Cui Zhenhuan suffered a mental collapse and became disoriented. Her family of four is all Falun Dafa practitioners and all of them have been persecuted. Her son was twice unlawfully detained at the Tieling City Forced Labor Camp, her husband and daughter were forced to leave home to avoid persecution. She is left with no one to care for her day-to-day needs. She now lives in a dilapidated house without windows or doors. She lives a random life with her relatives keeping an eye on her. Her relatives are experiencing intense pressure and harassment. Her mother who is more than eighty years old has been physically and mentally exhausted for a long time.

On March 31 and April 1, Dafa practitioners Mu Qin, Wang Zhou, Fan Dezhen, Ms. Yang Hong, the mother, and her daughter were arrested and detained. A Dafa materials site was destroyed and the Dafa practitioners were arrested and detained.

The Jinniu Branch Police Station arrested Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhu Zize from Tonghe Village, Jianyang County, Sichuan Province at the home of friend at Jinxi Gardens, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on September 29, 2002. He suffered all kinds of cruel torture, was not allowed to sleep for ten days and nights, and was not fed. Ten days later he was sent to the Chengdu Detention Center. He was detained for an extensive period and in December, 2003, he was sentenced to five years detention at the Chengdu City Detention Center transshipment site.

Together with him is his friend and Dafa practitioner from Chengdu City, Gao who was sentenced in February 2004.

The female Dafa practitioners detained at the Baoding Forced Labor Camp are forced to work for more than ten hours each day, starting at 5 a.m. they are forced to work till 11 or 12 o'clock at night, very often even till two AM. They are given food no ordinary person would swallow. When their relatives visit them, the police stipulate that no food is allowed to be brought in. They give the food at the camp fine-sounding names like "special cheaply priced" (actually it is over-priced). On every visit, the relatives are forced to purchase a publication, which in fact is not read by anyone elsewhere, otherwise the visit is not approved. Each publication costs 4 yuan (1). When the camps are under inspection, all the publications were removed and false materials are substituted.

The Police at Baoding Forced Labor Camp persecute Dafa practitioners. The practitioners are handcuffed and tied up with ropes. The intermediate leader, Zhang Haili, the junior leader, Zhu Manli told a person by the name of Li Yanli to savagely beat up Dafa practitioners, which she did, until they were all covered in cuts and bruises. They would not even let off those who were in their seventies and eighties. The pitiful screams and cries of the female Dafa practitioners are heard all over the forced labor camp.

On March 29, 2004, Jilin City Dafa practitioners Ms. Shan Juanfeng and Ms. Sun Shuqin were each sentenced to four years detention. Both have filed their appeals.

When Jiaonan Dafa practitioner Ms. Shi Taizhen distributed truth clarification materials at the first police precinct at Shangcheng, Jiaonan City on March 8, 2004, she was arrested by the precinct police officer and detained at Jiaonan City Detention Center. The police from the Public Security Department wanted to send her to a forced labor camp. They initially tried to extort her family members of 1,000 yuan, and then later demanded 500 yuan, but family members rejected both demands. On March 23, 2004, she was sent to a forced labor camp by the Jiaonan City "610 Office" (2) and the Public Security Department for one year of detention.

Wuhan City Dafa practitioner Mr. Wu Zhiqiang was putting up truth clarification materials on February 3, 2003, when he was arrested after somebody lodged a report. He was sent to the Hanyang District Detention Center. After six months, he was transferred to the Hewan Forced Labor Camp where he was sentenced to one year and three months of detention. When he was two months short of completing his sentence, the Hanyang District Procuratorate rejected the original detention warrant, and again sent Mr. Wu Zhiqiang from the Forced Labor Camp back to the Hanyang District Detention Center for detention.

On the week of March 29, 2004, the Dongchang Public Security Branch Office, Tonghua City, arrested many Dafa practitioners: Ms. Chen Li from the Law Administration Department, retired worker Ms. Dou Meifeng, National Trade staff Ms. Liu Xiaochun. Ms. Yan Xiaojun, Mr. Wang Gang (alias), an elderly person (name not known), an elderly lady (name not known), and Xu Tao. Mr. Gai Wenzhi from the Iron Factory and his wife (about seventy years old), and Song Bingxxiu were secretly arrested and detained by local police.

The Director of the Dongchang Public Security Department, Tonghua City, Wang Yufan personally led and instructed his subordinates to interrogate and extort confessions from Dafa practitioners with cruel and ruthless methods, including punching, kicking, and using electric batons on them.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Zheng Xiaoping, about fifty years of age, from Xinkai, Dawa County, Panjin City, Liaoning Province, was distributing truth clarification materials at Baqiangzi when he was arrested and detained by the Baqiangzi police. Two other practitioners who accompanied him escaped. At present, Mr. Zheng Xiaoping is being detained at the Panshan County Detention Center. Recently, the Baqiangzi Police Station Director Zhang Wenbao interrogated Mr. Zheng, at length, mainly to find out the names of the other two practitioners and the source of the materials. Mr. Zheng Xiaoping refused to cooperate. Zhang Wenbao started to beat him up and Mr. Zheng sustained a black eye...

At about 12 midnight on March 17, 2004, three Dafa practitioners in Puning, Guangdong Province, Mr. Peng Huisheng, Mr. Zhen Zeqiang and Ms. Chen Zena were arrested by the Puning Public Security Department and detained at the Puning Detention Center.

At about half-past seven on the morning of February 22, 2004, the Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee of Chouzhuang Village, Yang Guangfeng, and the Director of the Police Station, Dong Dehuai each drove a vehicle and under no proper formalities, arrested Ms Liu Guimei and sent her to the Tangshan Forced Labor Camp. It was on March 2, when they finally notified her family of the judgment of her being sent to the forced labor camp. (the date of judgment being on March 2.)

Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun Haiping of the Liaozhuan Brigade, Chouzhuang Village, Langfang City, was arrested and taken away on February 2, 2004. At that time, the Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee, Chouzhuang Village, Yang Guangfeng, made the cadre go in advance to find out if he was at home, then went to arrest and take him away. At present Mr. Sun Hailing is being detained at the Langfang Level Two Brainwashing Class.

On March 19, 2004, Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Shuhua was arrested and taken away by the Police from the Hedong Police Station, Shengfang Township, Ba County, Langfang City. Her present whereabouts are not known. Her husband is unable to care and provide for himself. On top of that, there are three school-aged children in the family. Their livelihood depended on Ms. Wang's hardware business. In the past few years, she had been persecuted many times, which has plunged the entire family into severe hardship.

(1) yuan: Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan.

(2) "610 Office": a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.
