(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Yao Yaoyuan graduated from the PLA (People's Liberation Army) Science and Technology University, and was assigned a job in the Wuhan City Army Equipment College. Because he kept practicing Falun Dafa, he was dismissed from his job in August 2000, and sent back to his home in the countryside. He was illegally arrested by local authorities multiple times. On February 7, 2002, he was arrested and brought to the Xinkaipu Labor Camp in Changsha City, Hunan Province, and sentenced to a one year term. After being released on January 30, 2003, he returned home and vomited blood as a result of the severe torture he received in the labor camp. He died on June 6, 2003.
Yao Yaoyuan was born in 1972, and was admitted by the PLA Science and Technology University in 1989. After he graduated, in July 1993, he was assigned a job in the Wuhan City Army Equipment College. He started practicing Falun Dafa in 1998. On July 20, 1999, Jiang and his followers started persecuting Falun Dafa. Mr. Yao knew Falun Dafa was good, and went to the Hubei provincial level government to appeal. He was abducted while on a train to Beijing in 2000, and his employer tried to brainwash him. He was firm in his faith, and said, "I can see the irrational points in every sentence they say." After two to three months of brainwashing in vain, the lawless officials threatened him, saying that they would kick him out of the Chinese Communist Party, kick him out of the army, and fire him from his job. He still knew that Falun Dafa was good, and that Falun Dafa was righteous. He felt that he would never give up cultivation.
In August 2000, 28-year-old Mr. Yao was dismissed from the Party, dismissed from the army (after serving one year as Vice Battalion Commander), and fired from his job. All of this was unthinkable given the circumstances. A farm boy who was admitted to a top university, now had to be a farmer again? And all this just because he practiced Falun Dafa, and wanted to be a good person?
He went back to Huxing Village, Niumasi Town, Shaodong County, Hunan Province. His family was extremely upset over the mistreatment he received, yet the persecution did not stop there. At the end of 2000, the town police came to his home to harass him. They tried to force him to guarantee that he wouldn't practice, by saying that they would arrest him if he did not. He did not hold to his faith, gave in to the evil request, and soon became seriously ill.
On February 23, 2001, the town government and police abducted him and brought him to a brainwashing class in Shaoyang (established on December 29, 2000 in the Party Institute, and was moved to the Wulipai Labor Camp around March 31, 2001). He went through inhuman brainwashing there. Retired Town Party Discipline Committee Secretary Xiao Lianfeng often helped out in the brainwashing class.
The workers in the brainwashing class changed many times. First (in the Party Institute location), Vice Chair Yi of the Party Propaganda Department was in charge. This changed around April 1, 2001, when "610 Office" (1) Director Liu was put in charge. Brainwashing class leader Chen Shunsheng (male, from the government) could not brainwash all these firm practitioners, so then, Li Qiling (female) from a local police station became leader around June and July 2001. Because Mr. Yao was a young military officer who graduated from a good university, he was under great pressure. The persecutors used all sorts of means, including putting pressure on his elderly parent. They made his parent and sisters all kneel in front of him. Seeing him not even flinch, they accused him of not loving his family.
In the brainwashing class, Mr. Yao declared all his guarantee statements made before null and void, which dashed the persecutors' spirit a great deal.
On the evening of April 3, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners were studying the Falun Dafa teachings together in the brainwashing class dormitory. Brainwashing class worker Wu Haiyan (female police officer from the labor camp) suddenly opened the door, and took away all their Falun Dafa books. Practitioners were in shock, but later thought they should protect their Falun Dafa books. They went to request their books back. Wu Said, "Why would I give these back to you?"
Under such special circumstances, practitioners took their books back right in front of Wu's eyes. Wu was very angry, and reported this to "610 Office" Director Liu. People from the "610 Office" and police came the next day, and had a group investigate this incident. Even so, they only managed to ask two weeks later who brought these books to the brainwashing class. Mr. Yao and others said they did, in order to protect more practitioners.
In order to resist the persecution, and request unconditional release from this brainwashing class, Mr. Yao and Ning Tieqiao, among other practitioners went on hunger strike. On November 13, 2001, under orders from the "610 Office," brainwashing class leader Li Qiling sent Mr. Yao to the Shaoyang Detention Center to be detained for 15 days. He had already been on hunger strike for over four days, and was very weak. Mr. Yao continued to clarify the truth inside the detention center, and many people learned the truth. One old man said that he would practice Falun Dafa after he was released.
After 15 days, Mr. Yao was sent back to the brainwashing class. He was abducted and taken to the Shaodong Drug Rehabilitation Center on February 2, 2002, and sentenced to one year of labor camp on February 7, 2002. He was sent to the Beginners Ward of the Xinkaipu Labor Camp on February 7. In May 2002, he was assigned to the No.9 Ward, known as Devil Ward, and started vomiting blood in October 2002. Without giving up his faith, he was released from the labor camp on January 30, 2003. Several days after returning home, his family had to send him to the hospital because he started vomiting blood. At the end of May 2003, he started vomiting blood again. The medical treatment was in vain, and with both eyes open he died on June 6, 2003.
