1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Nangang District Court Illegally Sentences Dafa Practitioners to Long Jail Terms

Recently a judge in Harbin's Nangang District Court sentenced four Dafa practitioners to long jail terms. Zhang Zhen was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Liu Hongtao to 3 years, (Liu Hongtao refused to sign the verdict), Liu Lijuan to 4 years (already appealed), and Chun Mei to 3 years (already appealed).

2. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Chengan County Court Unlawfully Sentences Dafa Practitioners

On August 31, 2002, Dafa practitioners held an experience sharing conference in Chengan County, Handan City. However, this activity was reported to the police, and 67 Dafa practitioners were arrested. One of them has already died while in detention. Many Chengan County Dafa practitioners have been detained for long periods of time and penalized with fines of 2,000 to 20,000 Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan]. Chengan County Dafa practitioners Li Sheting, Xia Wenzhong, Li Lingde, and Bao Zhengshi are still being detained. They were cruelly tortured for their steadfast belief in Dafa and have been forcibly kept in prison for over a year and a half.

Between February and August of 2003 the local court twice held secret trials to convict practitioners. Many times practitioners' family contacted the responsible persons from the Court, Zhang Wenshen, He Jinyu, and others, to question these unlawful acts. The practitioners' families have not received any replies to their inquiries. The four Dafa practitioners were secretly sentenced one year ago. Li Sheting and Xia Wenzhong were sentenced to three years and four years respectively; both of them were sent to the Hebei Daming Forced Labor Camp. Li Lingde and Bao Zhengshi were sentenced to three years in prison and were sent to the Shi Jiazhuang Forced Labor Camp.

3. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Police Abduct Dafa Practitioners

Since the interception of local TV and broadcast of truth-clarifying videos occurred in Shahe County, Xintai City, the police have been arresting Dafa practitioners. Yongnian County, Handan City, Hebei Province Dafa practitioners Cheng Peiju, 70, his son Cheng Fengxiang, 43, and Cheng Fengming (non-practitioner), 36, were detained. On January 28, 2004 the province police station instructed the Handan City "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] and the Yongnian County Police Station to ransack Cheng's house and to detain both father and son. At present, Cheng Peiju and Cheng Fengming are detained in the Yongnian Detention Center and are on a hunger strike to protest their unlawful treatment. The location of Cheng Fengxiang is unknown.

4. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu] Pukou District "610 Office" Abducts Dafa Practitioners

At 8:00 p.m. on February 19, 2004 Li Youfa, Ping Gu, and Wang Ke (members of the Nanjing City "610 Office" and Pukou District "610 Office") along with Pukou District Chinese Medicine Hospital Chief Wang and the local police, a total of at least ten people, suddenly intruded into Ms. Yu Shuxia's house. Ms. Yu is a Falun Dafa practitioner and works at the Pukou District Chinese Medicine Hospital. The intruders intended to send her to a brainwashing class. Yu Shuxia firmly rejected the arrest. Finally, in order to escape, Yu Shuxia jumped from a second floor window, which resulted in injuries to several parts of her body including her head. She was sent to the hospital for treatment.

5. [Xianzhu City, Hubei Province] Father and Daughter, Chen Keijin and Chen Jing, Are Arrested

On the afternoon of February 16, Dafa practitioner Chen Keijin was taken from his home by officers from the Xianan Section, Xianzhu City, Hubei Province Henggou Police Station, and taken to the Xianzhui City No. 1 Detention Center after being turned in. Police ransacked his house that night.

On February 17, Xianzhu City Wenquan No. 1 Bridge police, together with the Xianzhu City Pharmaceutical Oversight Bureau chief, went to the Xianzhu City Pharmaceutical Oversight Bureau office to arrest Chen Kijin's daughter. Dafa practitioner Chen Jing was taken to the No. 1 Bridge Police Station for interrogation. On the same afternoon, officers from the No. 1 Bridge Police Station ransacked her house when no one was present. That same night, officers from the Xianzhu City Wenquan Development Zone Chalukou Police Station took Chen Jing to the Xianzhu No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Suizhong County Dafa Practitioner Liang Jianlin Is Arrested

On February 21, 2004 in Suizhong County, Huludao City, Dafa practitioner Liang Jianlin was arrested at his workplace -- the Post and Telecommunications Office by the Suizhong County Police Station political and security section police. The police searched Liang Jianlin and found Dafa materials in his bag. Liang Jianlin is currently being held in the Suizhong Detention Center.

7. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Three Dafa Practitioners Are Arrested

On January 5, 2004 Dafa practitioners Zhao Xincui, Chen Taiying, and Jiang Chunhong, from Tie Jiazhuang Village, Laixi City, went to Feng Huangtun Village to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Someone reported their activities to the Niuxibu Police Station and Laixi Public Security Bureau. Officers arrested the practitioners and took them to the Niuxibu Police Station, where they were kept for one night. The following day they were sent to Laixi Detention Center, where they were held until January 18. In the end, they were sent to Zibo Forced Labor Camp for two years. They released Jiang Chunhong because she has a very young child.

8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Wang Liping Is Arrested

On February 5, 2004 Harbin Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Liping distributed truth clarifying materials in the Daoli District. She was arrested after someone reported her to the "610 Office." Her home was ransacked and she is still being detained.

9. [Nanzhu City, Guangxi Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Huang Yaowu Is Sent to a Forced Labor Camp

Huang Yaowu from Nanzhu City is a Dafa practitioner and retired kindergarten teacher. In November of 2003, while passing Teacher's article to another Dafa practitioner, she was arrested by a policeman who had followed her. She was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and is currently detained in the Guangxi Women's Forced Labor Camp.

10. [Shanghai] Xinyang City Dafa Practitioner Zhang Jun and His Wife Liyan Are Arrested By Shanghai Police

Since year 2000 Xinyang City Dafa practitioner Zhang Jun has been exiled from his hometown and working in Shanghai. On January 29, 2004 he and his wife Li Yan (also a Dafa practitioner) were arrested by the Shanghai police while they posted truth-clarifying materials. The police ransacked their home, and it is not known where they are being held.

11. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] Linghai City Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Yanhua And Other Practitioners Are Arrested

On February 3, 2004 Dafa practitioners Ms. Wang Yanhua from Baishantun Village, Banjita Town, Linghai City, Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, practitioner Lui Zhenxue from Guajiasi, Ms. Wang Yanjun from Jinbaoling Village of Cuiyan Township, and Lui Fengrong from Jinzhou were detained by officers from the Shenjiatai Police Station while they were distributing truth-clarifying materials in Shenjiatai County, Linghai City. They are currently detained in the Linghai City Detention Center.

At 9:00 am on February 24, 2004 Tangshan Dafa practitioner Niu Hongyu was arrested at his home. Officers from the Tangshan City Police Station and members of the Jinkuangshan Security Bureau went to Niu's house to arrest him. Niu's family refused to open the door. Police surrounded Niu's house and intended to climb into the house through a balcony. Eventually, the officers broke down the front door and forcibly took Niu away.

In the Xinghuan Road Police Station in Guiyang City, the legs of a metal chair were placed onto the ribs of Dafa practitioner Ma Tianjun. A person sat in the metal chair and pressed down hard. The practitioner's four limbs were firmly held in place and he was not able to move. The policemen then used an iron plate to break each of Ma's limbs one by one, instantly disabling him. After this, he was taken to the Quiyang City Police Station No. 2 criminal investigation unit for further persecution.

While in the Quiyang City Police Station No. 2 criminal investigation unit, Ma Tianjun was hung up and suspended with his hands cuffed behind his back, and his feet were cuffed together so he couldn't move at all. He was left like this for four days and nights.

Ma Tianjun was later sentenced and detained in Duyun Prison in Guizhou Province. Exact details of this practitioner's situation are currently unknown.

Jilan Dafa practitioner Mr. Kou Jianhua, 32, and his wife Su Li, 32, from Shengyang, rented suite 12A, 512 Donghu Street, Yuhong District, Shenyang City to make truth clarifying CDs, flyers, and other Dafa materials. On March 27, 2002 the Tiexi District court of Shenyang City sentenced Kou Jianhua to 10 years in prison and Su Li to 3 years. They were detained separately in the Dalian Wafang Dian Prison and Liaoning Women's Prison (the city jail) respectively, and neither person is allowed any visitors.
