(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese Embassies in Europe were extremely nervous while Chinese Vice-Premier Huang Ju visited Ireland because he has actively taken part in the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Practitioners filed a complaint against him at an Irish police station for conspiring to implement the brutal torture against Falun Gong. The following is a report by RFA reporter Tian-Yi:
Falun Gong practitioners have utilized both the UN Convention Against Torture and international law to file a complaint against the officials and other persons who have actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in China. These lawsuits have attracted a lot of attention from European society and law circles. Many Chinese officials and others involved in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in China encounter problems and trouble at different levels while visiting Europe. Vice Premier Huang Ju, who began his visit to Europe in November, has encountered a complaint by Irish Falun Gong practitioners with the charge of conspiring to implement brutal torture. For this, the reporter interviewed Ms. Dai Dongxue, who took part in the lawsuit.
During the period in which Huang Ju, as a national leader, served as Shanghai Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Party, as well as Mayor, there were six Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death in the Shanghai area. Being the area's leader, he has to take direct responsibility. Therefore, on Saturday night, four Falun Gong practitioners and two lawyers handed in an application to an Irish judge seeking a warrant for Huang Hu's arrest. They accused Huang Ju of conspiring to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. The original complaint is under investigation by the Irish police.
Due to Falun Gong practitioner's actions, Huang Ju's visit became very tense. Before Huang Ju came, the Chinese Embassy gave notice that the building would be closed for three days. During his three-day visit, normal official business such as issuing visas was cancelled and the Embassy was closed.
With regard to the problems possibly brought to Huang Ju because of these actions, Ms. Dai Dongxue answered, "If the investigation shows he has a case to answer for, then if apprehended he will face trial and could be handed a sentence of life imprisonment. This is the most serious punishment because there's no death penalty in Ireland. If Huang Ju once again steps onto Irish land, he'll face a criminal trial; therefore they are actually still very scared..."
Ms. Dai Dongxue said, "When Huang Ju arrived, the Embassy informed the media that they would not hold the usual press conference. This caused strong condemnation by the Irish Journalists Association and by the Foreign Affairs Spokesman of the Labour Party. Accordingly, the issue of the Chinese government's persecution against Falun Gong practitioners again became a focus for the Irish media.
