1. [Hong Kong] Practitioner Lin Junhui is Sent to Brainwashing Class in Mainland China
Ms. Lin Junhui, a practitioner from Hong Kong, went to Shenjun, through Luohu, on November 22, 2003. She was detained by customs and sent to a so-called "education institute" (a brainwashing class). After 33 days of brainwashing, they could not sever Lin Junhui's belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. The staff from the State Security Department told her brother, "Your sister did not cooperate with us, we can do nothing." So they sent her to the Luohu Detention Center.
I have been calling the detention center and inquiring about her. They are terrified and deny that there ever was such a person. Once I called at night. They transferred me to an internal line and someone said, "This is the gynecology and obstetrics department." When I called again, no one answered the phone. Her brother also went to the detention center to request her release, but they refused.
Lin Junhui has been detained and tortured by the State Security Department. Her safety is uncertain.
2. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] The Persons Responsible for Wu Yuan's Death
The mayor of Lingyuan City, Ma Guotai, has been the head of the local "610 Office" since July 20, 1999 ["610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. He ordered local police to arrest Dafa practitioners, search their homes, and hold brainwashing classes. Because of his "achievements" in persecuting Falun Gong, he was promoted to mayor. 3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Behavior of Dafa Practitioners
On October 1, 2003, China's National Day, all Falun Dafa practitioners in Nanchang City were not interfered with on this so-called "sensitive day." They hung up over 200 truth-clarifying banners early in the morning. The longest one was four meters long. On November 9, early in the morning, they hung up over 100 banners again. Some banners were hung above the multi-level bridge, some were hung on the streets. Practitioners who did not go out sent forth righteous thoughts at home. Under the cooperation of the one body, all banners were hung up and all practitioners came back safely.

5. [Dabei City, Liaoning Province] Facts Surrounding Dabei Jail's Persecution of Huang Guirong
Dabei Jail has been using criminal inmates to torture Falun Gong practitioners. If any criminal is able to force a Falun Gong practitioner to give up his belief, his jail term is reduced. The jail strictly blocks news from the outside world. Steadfast practitioners are not allowed to see their family members, make calls, or talk to anyone.
A criminal inmate from Team Six in the Dabei Jail named Fu Lijuan (also known as Fu Dianjuan) is from Ciyutuo Town, Liaozhong County. In order to decrease his own term, he often plotted with other criminals in the torture of Dafa practitioner Ms. Huang Guirong. In order to avoid drawing other people's attention they gagged her mouth and hung her somewhere she couldn't be seen. They cut her at very sensitive points on her body. Huang Guirong could not endure the torture and jumped off the second floor. The jail's administration department did not handle the issue according to the law. On the contrary, the perpetrator's term was decreased. They continued to persecute and monitor Huang while lying to the outside world and saying that they were taking good care of her. Actually, while Huang was recovering in bed, Fu Lijuan continued to beat and abuse her. He strictly monitored her and prohibited her from making contact with anyone. The jail even refused to notify her family. Without consent from her family members the jail made her undergo an operation.
Someone asked an official in the government, "Don't you know that Dabei Jail beats people?" This official said, "Of course we know. It is all because the upper levels gave out orders. Otherwise, how could they dare do that?"
"What do you mean by ¡®upper levels'?"
"Of course it must be the Liaoning Justice Department and the Jail Administration Bureau."
6. [Chongqing City] Yan Changyu Is Detained in the Chongqing Female Labor Camp
Ms. Yan Changyu was an employee of the Chuanjiang Boat Factory in Changshou area, Chongqing. She was arrested at home on August 29, 2003 and is now detained at the Chongqing Female Labor Camp. On the eve of October 1, policemen forced Dafa practitioners from the Chuanwei Factory and the Chuanjiang Boat Factory to receive brainwashing. They tried to force them to write "guarantees" to stop practicing Falun Dafa, to tear up Falun Dafa books, and to step on Teacher's picture.

7. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan province] Two Practitioners Are Sentenced to Jail
Ms. Lin Qiongfang, 50, is a practitioner from Guangyuan City. She was arrested for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. In July 2003 she was sentenced to seven years in jail. She is currently detained in the Guangyuan detention center.
Another practitioner, Ms. Zhang Zhongbi, 65, also came from Guangyuan City. In October 2002 she was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials. She was sentenced to a three year jail sentence in May 2003. She is currently being detained in the Guangyuan Detention Center.

Dafa practitioner Zhang Xuguang is from Fanjia Town, Leizhong county, Huludao City. On January 3, 2004, he was reported to police while he was clarifying the truth at Bao Village, Fanjia Town. 9. [Guanshan Town, Shanxi Province] Guanshan Town Police Wrongfully Arrest Dafa Practitioners
A couple named Wang Lu and Zhao Mujian started to practice Falun Gong in February 1998. On February 3, 2001 they were brought to the Guanshan Police Department by Pingding City police under false pretenses. They received five months' brainwashing and two and one-half years of forced labor. The couple was arrested at the same time, leaving two kids at home; one was 16 years old and one was 9 years old, and they had no one to take care of them. After the couple was brought to the brainwashing class, they requested permission to go back to arrange for the lives of their two children, but no one paid attention to their requests. They were later released. While at home, they have been monitored and frequently harassed.
Ms. Han Linhua was brought to the Guanshan Town Police Station under false pretenses on February 3, 2001. She was sentenced to nine months' of brainwashing class and two years of forced labor. When she left home, only her 11-year-old son was at home (her husband Ren Yinping was unjustly sentenced to three years of jail on November 27, 1999 and detained in the Taiyuan Jinzhong Jail). At the beginning, she was forced to watch videos and read a newspaper attacking Dafa. The newspaper was written by Wang Maoyin, the assistant secretary of Guanshan town. One night, Wang Maoyin (male) broke into the rooms of female practitioners and pulled off their quilts. At that time Han only had on her underwear. In May 2003, Guo Zhenzhu led police from the Pingding police station in searching her home. They found Teacher's articles, so they took the couple to the police branch. Han's husband was beaten and two of his teeth were knocked out. They were interrogated for the entire night, which was followed by 15 days of detention, and a two-year sentence in a forced labor camp.
10. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Policemen Arrest Many Dafa Practitioners in Succession
On January 2, 2004 the Dafa material site at Hengshui City, Zaoqiang county was exposed. Dafa practitioners Meng Xianqun and his spouse, Liu Hongluan and his spouse, and seven others were all arrested by police from the Hengshui Police Department and the Zaoqiang Police Department. Computers were confiscated.
On January 3, 2004 at 7:00 a.m. Hengshui policemen went to practitioner Chen Yu's home to arrest her. They broke into the house by prying open the door. They ransacked the house, leaving it a mess. Later, they went to the house of Chen's sister to find her. At the time Chen Yu had not yet put on her clothes, but the policemen took her away. Chen Yu's husband Xiao Bin tried to stop the police from arresting his wife, and he was also arrested. Now they are being detained in the Hengshui Brainwashing Class.

Guan Juxia lives at North Huangnatuo Village of Ciyutuo Town, Shenyang City. On December 26, 2003, some corrupt members of the government of Ciyutuo Town, the local "610 Office" and Liaozhong Politics & Law Committee, broke into Guan Juxia's home and abducted her. She was sent to Zhangshi Brainwashing Class. She is currently protesting the illegal detention with a hunger strike.

13. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Liu Wenru Illegally Arrested
On December 18, 2003, Ms. Liu Wenru, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Harbin City, went to the Baiyi Hotel, at Harbin Engineering University, for an accounting meeting. Someone reported her for distributing truth-clarifying VCDs to those present. Police from Nangang Police Substation arrested her on the spot and confiscated 100 VCDs. The police tried to force a confession through brutal torture, causing serious physical wounds. They extorted 500 Yuan from her family members for medical expenses and illegally searched Liu Wenru's home. When they failed to find "evidence," they tried to abduct her father, but failed, due to strong resistance from her family members. Liu Wenru is currently detained at Daoliqichu Prison (the No. 2 Detention Center). After visiting her at the prison, her mother said that she had been beaten so badly that she could not speak in her normal voice. Liu Wenru had previously been beaten for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, and suffered a miscarriage.
14. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Zhang Limin Illegally Abducted
On November 27, 2003, around 10:00am, Zhang Limin was arrested at his work place. Police from Yong'an Police Substation at Qingjin District, Patrol Police 110, and the Qingjin Public Security Branch are involved in his detention. When Zhang Limin resisted the illegal detention, he was knocked to the ground, and a group of policemen came to beat and kick him. In order to prevent him from explaining the truth to witnesses, a policeman grabbed his neck so tightly that he nearly suffocated. Finally he lay helpless on the ground with injured ribs. Over a dozen policemen carried him to a police car and took him to the Qingjin Public Security Branch. About 100 people witnessed the police violence. A good-willed onlooker said, "It is too cold on the ground. Let him stand up," but he was quickly reprimanded by the police. With upright thoughts, it is reported that Zhang Limin has escaped further persecution.
15. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Wei Qingguo Illegally Detained
Wei Qingguo is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Chengnan Township of Meihekou City. On December 12, 2003, Qu Yan, a police officer from Hailong Public Security Branch, and policemen from the police substation at Ninghe District of Tianjing City, convinced Wei Qingguo to come out of his home for a "chat" at the police car. They said that it was no big deal, and they just wanted to confirm some details, but Wei Qingguo was not allowed to leave the car. He is currently detained at a detention house in Tianjing City. His family members are not permitted to visit him.
16. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] The Truth-Clarifying Material Site at Shancheng Township Is Destroyed
On November 23, 2003, at around 8:00 p.m., the truth-clarifying material site at Shancheng Township of Meihekou City was destroyed. Practitioners Zhou Lianfa, Shi Xingjia, 50, from Meihekou City, and Ms. Wu, 46, were illegally arrested. One fellow practitioner escaped persecution by maintaining righteous thoughts.
17. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Policeman Wu Xiaoguang Beats Falun Dafa Practitioners
On February 7, 2001 at around 2:30 a.m. fourteen practitioners illegally detained at the female cell of Benxi Security Detention Center were doing meditation when Wu Xiaoguang, a policeman on duty, rushed into the cell, wearing underwear and heavy boots. He asked, "If I don't go to Hell, who will." He jumped on the bed and kicked practitioners hard. I felt extreme heat in my right arm after a kick from him. Fellow practitioner Cao Guifang had sore ribs for several days, and she could not move her arms. Still, we were forced to do labor. Practitioner Li was kicked and beaten several times, and suffered several respiratory attacks. Zhang Zhongmei was kicked several times and slapped on the face. Wu grabbed her by the hair and knocked her head against the wall, creating a loud bang. When Wu Xiaoguang's evil behavior was exposed on-line, even the corrupt officials were shocked. He was quickly transferred to another unit.
18. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Lu Jinyu Sentenced to Prison for Practicing Falun Dafa
Lu Jinyu, 42, teaches physical education at Benxi Metallurgy College. In late December 2001 Qiu Qingliang, Party Secretary of the college, and Deng Xianyu, director of the Security Department, asked to meet with him at the college, and contacted Dongxing Police Substation to arrange his arrest. Lu Jinyu explained the truth of Falun Dafa to them, and found an opportunity to escape. Thereafter, he became homeless and destitute in order to avoid illegal detention. In August 2002, the Criminal Police Team of Mingshan Public Security Branch in Benxi City abducted him. To weaken his spirit, the police deprived him of sleep for about six days. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and is being detained at Wafangdian Prison in Liaoning Province, where he holds firm to his belief. Lu Chuangui, head of the police guards, placed him in confinement for shouting "Falun Dafa is good!" His family members are not allowed to see him. In Wafangdian Prison, there are over thirty steadfast Falun Dafa practitioners being detained.

19. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Exposure of Evil Deeds in Yanxi Police Substation
Wang Lianqiang and Wang Liguo from Yanxi Police Substation of Yanji City illegally abducted Falun Dafa practitioners many times in September 2001. Once they sent a female practitioner to the Politics & Security Section of the police substation, where the practitioner was brutally beaten. They dragged her by the hair, slapped her face, and kicked her knees. The torture lasted about six hours. Her face became deformed, and a third of her hair was ripped out. She was then sent to the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp where she was subjected to forced brainwashing from policeman Zangping. Both she and her family members have suffered spiritually.

22. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Tortured at Deyang Prison
At Section Two of Deyang Prison, practitioner Deng Weijian is forced to run every day from morning until evening. If he does not run, several criminal prisoners push him to run. Once they pushed him so hard that he fell and injured his hand. His family members recently went to see him, but the prison did not allow it, saying that "Deng Weijian is so stubborn, no matter what we do to him, he keeps saying that Falun Dafa is good." Practitioner Xu Bin is forced to stand from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. every day. A week has passed, and his current situation is unknown. Practitioner He Yuanchao was illegally sentenced to nine years in prison by the Panzhihua Court after he had been detained at Wanyao Detention Center in Panzhihua City for one year. He is currently being held at Deyang Prison. No family members or relatives are allowed to visit him, and he is not permitted to receive any necessities or food from them.
23. [Sichuan Province] Chuanhua Group Participates in Persecuting Falun Dafa Practitioners
Officers from the Chuanhua Group Limited Company in Sichuan Province, including Liao Hongbin, participate in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners by deducting monthly bonuses from practitioners' salary, and cooperating with the local "610 Office" in the persecution. In order to restore the monthly bonus, practitioners are asked to meet "six requirements." Four of the requirements are: 1. Hand in Falun Dafa books. 2. Write so-called "statement of guarantee." [A statement to declare that one is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.] 3. Denounce Falun Gong. 4. Expose other practitioners. Currently the company is implementing an early "retirement" plan, where state-run enterprises pay their employees a lump sum in compensation for their years of work and dismiss them. After dismissal, the employees lose all company benefits. Those who are close to retirement age are denied this "pension." Falun Gong practitioners are asked to write the so-called "statement of guarantee" in order to be paid the compensation sum.
