1. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhu Yuhong and Other Falun Dafa Practitioners Receive Unlawful Sentencing

Ms. Zhu Yuhong, born in 1975, is a former teacher at the Jiafu Elementary School in Guangzhou City. She was also the assistant at the Falun Dafa Assistance Center located in the Southern China Agricultural University in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. In November 1999, a site for making Falun Gong materials was damaged, and Ms. Zhu was detained on criminal charges. She was unlawfully sentenced to thirteen years in prison for so-called "interference with the implementation of the law." She held firmly to her belief and has refused to provide any information to the authorities; thus she has remained in prison for over three years now. Along with Ms. Zhu, sixteen other practitioners were arrested at the same time, most of whom were practitioners from the site in the Southern China Agricultural University who were studying at the university. Besides the six who were unlawfully sent to forced labor camps, the other ten have received unlawful prison terms ranging from three years to eleven years. Zhu Dezhi, a student enrolled in the university, has been sentenced to eleven years in prison.

Evil people in Suining City, Sichuan Province are planning a trial of Falun Dafa practitioner Zeng Yonghao in the Suining City Suizhong District Court at 8:30 a.m. on May 16.

3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Lu Yingxuan and Chen Jianxiu from Xiangshan Town in Daying County Are Unlawfully Held in Custody

Ms. Lu Yingxuan and Ms. Chen Jianxiu were arrested on April 25 and April 26, 2003, respectively. Ms. Chen's home was ransacked, and a VCD player, a TV set, and a tape recorder were confiscated. Both Ms. Lu and Ms. Chen are currently being held in the Penglai Detention Center.

4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Police Officers from the Beiching Police Station Plant Falsified Evidence to Frame Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Dong Haifen

At 2:00 p.m. on March 13, 2003, a group of officers from the Beicheng Police Station, carrying Falun Gong materials (for planting and framing), pried open the door and broke into Ms. Dong Haifen's home to conduct a search. They then took Ms. Dong away. Yang Shuhua, head of the police station was relieved when reporting to the Political Security Section of the police department, "We finally got her." Ms. Dong is being held in the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Faun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Li at Wannian Factory Abducted by Officers from the Huangwajie Police Station

Ms. Li lives at the Wannian Factory in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She was abducted from her home on April 25 by officers from the Huangwajie Police Station. When the police ransacked her home, over 200 pieces of Falun Dafa materials, 4,000 Yuan in cash (including the money she collected from neighbors to pay for their joint utility bill), and a savings account certificate worth over 10,000 Yuan were confiscated [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. Her family members demanded the return of the cash and deposit from the police but were unreasonably rejected. Ms. Li's whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Ninghai County, Tianjin] Falun Dafa Practitioners Yang Zhiqiang and His Wife Dong Yuying from Lutai Town Remain in Custody

Ms. Dong Yuying, who is 50 years old, has been unlawfully held in custody for over two and a half years in the Dagang Women's Forced Labor Camp in Tianjin simply for practicing Falun Gong. Her husband Yang Zhiqiang has also been unlawfully held in custody for a year.

7. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Send Righteous Thoughts to Thwart the Shutdown of Internet Caf s under the Excuse of SARS Prevention

Under the excuse of SARS prevention, the Changchun police authorities shut down all the Internet Caf s across the city. A couple of days later, they allowed these Internet Caf s to open for playing computer games. However, all the connections to the Internet have been cut off and no one can access the Internet. Falun Dafa practitioners should realize that this is also a kind of persecution and interference. We should collectively send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the interference.

8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Cases of Falun Dafa Practitioners under Persecution

Ms. He Xianru, a 35-year-old English teacher at Tangshan University, went to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa on October 3, 2000. She was taken back by staff from her university and sent to the Tangshan No. 2 Detention Center. She has remained in custody ever since.

Ms. Sun Guiping is 40 years old. She rode a bicycle to Beijing to validate Falun Dafa in 2000. She was sent to the Tangshan No. 2 Detention Center and has remained in custody ever since.

Ms. An Xiaoping is a 38-year-old employee of Tangshan City Steel Company's Factory for High-Speed Wiring Materials. Mr. Zhao Xihua is 38 years old. They were arrested for distributing materials that present the facts about Falun Gong to the public. Their whereabouts remain unknown.

These two people have thrown numerous Falun Dafa practitioners into detention centers and brainwashing facilities.

9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in the Tianhe District Brainwashing Center Is Exposed

Brainwashing centers are currently being closed down in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, including the infamous Huangpu District Brainwashing Center. However, the Tianhe District Brainwashing Center is still operating. The Tianhe District "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] hired six collaborators (four male and two female) who have been brainwashed at the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp into helping deceive, torture and otherwise persecute Falun Dafa practitioners [Collaborators are former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture]. These collaborators are trying to extract information for the "610 Office" about the development of activity related to Falun Dafa. Each of them is receiving a monthly salary of over 1,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China]. At the end of last year, the Tianhe Brainwashing Center abused Falun Dafa practitioners by depriving them of sleep, forbidding them from going to the restroom, and beating them violently.

10. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Torture Deployed in the Huadu Forced Labor Camp (No. 1 Camp) in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province

A short while back, in order to achieve the so-called "rate of transformation," the Huadu Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province completely took off its benign mask and adopted vile approaches in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. The labor camp authorities have called in police officers known for their brutality to supervise the torture of Falun Dafa practitioners. One of the tortures was conducted by tying their two thumbs to their two big toes and hanging one's entire weight on them. Practitioners tortured in this way quickly pass out. These police officers are fully aware and afraid of the power of public opinion, and are doing everything they can to prevent the exposure of their brutalities.

11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Family Member of Falun Dafa Practitioners Is Unlawfully Arrested and Inhumanely Tortured

Clearwisdom.net reported on March 6 [see article in Chinese http://search.minghui.org/mh/articles/2003/5/8/49892.html] that several Falun Dafa practitioners from Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province were unlawfully arrested at a fashion company in the Bagualing area. Among them were a mother and a daughter. The daughter managed to walk away from the hospital that evening with righteous thoughts in her mind. In order to recapture her, the police broke into her home at 3:00 a.m. and abducted her elder sister Li Dongmei, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner. The police resorted to barbaric torture in order to force her to give out her sister's whereabouts. Both Ms. Li Dongmei and her mother remain in custody and their relatives and friends are not allowed visits.

The Shanglin Police Station has been merged with the Yuanling Police Station and are under control by the latter.
