In November 2002, Fushun City's court secretly sentenced eight Dafa practitioners to lengthy prison terms. Ms. Wang Xiaoyan, Mr. Wang Tao, and Mr. Yan Jun and Wang Xiaoyan were sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment and Yan Jun to 6 years. The Dafa practitioners didn't acknowledge the illegal sentence and appealed to the court. The court maintained its original verdict. In March 2003, Yan Jun and others were secretly sent to Shenyang City's Dabei Prison, where they were inhumanely tortured. Ms. Wang Xiaoyan was in extremely poor condition, yet the police didn't allow her to post bail for hospitalization and are holding her at Fushun City's No.2 Detention Center.

Luancheng County's court sentenced three Dafa Practitioners to prison terms. Among them, Mr. He Anping was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment and is now held at Baoding City Prison; Mr. Xie Junxiao was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment and is now held at Tangshan City's Jidong Prison; Ms. Luo Ranran was sentenced to 3 years and is now held at Shijiazhuang City's No.2 Women's Prison. Prior to this, another Dafa practitioner, Ms. Lu Shu'e from Luancheng County was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment and is now held at Shijiazhang City's No.2 Women's Prison.

Practitioner Mr. Liu Duanrui was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. On February 26, 2003 he was taken back after the prison term had expired. The chief of the local "610 Office," *) Yang Zhongshu, publicly claimed, "If you dare to practice again, your whole family will be implicated." When Liu Duanrui arrived home, police assigned his neighbor Zhao Zhihe to watch him, to follow him wherever he went and report to police from time to time. Four days later, they deceive Mr. Liu into Yunxi District's Brainwashing Class in Yueyang City. Liu climbed over the wall and escaped after 25 days' detention, but is now living as a homeless person to avoid arrest and further persecution.

Beginning April 10, Hulan City's Xinjian Prison accelerated the persecution against Dafa practitioners. Seven practitioners were transferred from Harbin City's Liming Prison to the Xinjian Prison. More than 30 practitioners are now detained there. In order to get their bonuses and avoid a penalty, policemen tried to force the practitioners to give up Falun Gong. Practitioners were beaten, not permitted to eat in the dining room, not allowed to see their relatives, and also deprived of sleep. The police further instigated criminals to beat practitioners. Practitioner Mr. Qian Houmin has been on a hunger strike for many days. He is force-fed and his health is very poor. Practitioners Mr. Wang Hongbin and Mr. Duan Dewu also suffered torture to different degrees.

On April 17, Harbin City "610 Office" * in Heilongjiang Province allocated police cars for each residential area. This office also assigned temporary workers to monitor and locate practitioners in two buildings, using the ruse of "checking the rental certificate." If they found any strangers, they would interrogate these persons and then report to the police. They started work between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Police checked their positions at 11:00 a.m. These hired personnel earns 200 Yuan each month and the total amount was charged to the local residents under the name of "Social Security Fee." Some people from the local police precinct and other places said, "We do not want to be in charge of this, but the higher ups force us to do so."

In October of 2002, practitioners Mr. Zhou Qiaohang and Mr. Wang Dayuan from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province were arrested.

At about 6:00 p.m. on April 21, policeman Yang Zhigang from Nuu'erhe Police Precinct led seven to eight other lawless policemen from Taihe District' Police Department in Jinzhou City to break into Dafa practitioners' homes and abduct Mr. Cao Ce and Mr. Wang Keyu. At about 9:00 p.m., these policemen returned to search the homes and confiscated Cao Ce's computer and Dafa books.

On March 6, 2003, Dengta City's People's Court in Liaoyang City held secret proceedings. Yang Zhenduo was the chief judge; the other judges were Zheng Xueping and Zhang Jingsen. They illegally sentenced Dafa practitioner Mr. Bai Hewu to eleven years of imprisonment, and sentenced the following Dafa practitioners to other terms: Ms. Zhang Shujuan to ten years, Sun Yuhua to four years, Ms. Luo Li to four years, Ms. Yu Shuhua to three years, Wang Xiuwen to two years and six months and Ms. Wang Xiuzhi to two years.

Female Dafa practitioners, including Yang Fenglian, Li Suying, She Qiaoling, Bai Caiping, Liu Jinling and Nie Caixia were illegally held at Handan City's No.2 Detention Center. Although some of them have already been illegally held for over six months to a year, they are still in detention for additional persecution. The situation of male Dafa practitioners and details about their plight is unknown.

When Ms. Zhou Yingqiu went to Jiamusi City's Xinhua Police Precinct to apply for an identity card, policemen illegally detained her and searched her house, without any legal procedures. Now she is held at a detention center and her less than three-year-old son is left at home. Fortunately, a kindhearted kindergarten teacher has him in. Zhou Yingqiu's husband was illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor for practicing Falun Gong and is now illegally held at Jiamusi City's Forced Labor Camp.
