The biggest difference between other beings and us is that we study the Fa. "Since Dafa disciples are studying the Fa, they're actively assimilating to the Fa." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference")

All beings in the cosmos are undergoing Master's Fa-rectification, including us of course, and all will be rectified. However, the way we are rectified is different from that of all other beings, and the reason is that we are actively studying the Fa and we are actively being rectified, from the microscopic to the macroscopic. One part, that we have cultivated well, has completely met the standards of the new cosmos. The part we are cultivating in Fa-rectification is the remaining part needed to assimilate to the Fa. If we cannot cultivate well now, this part will not be able to join the fully cultivated part, and we will not be able to reach the great consummation. Apart from Master, no one else knows the true state of our cultivation, because through Fa-study the part of us that has been cultivated well in the Fa has met the standards of the new cosmos. That part is completely assimilated to the Fa and is separated from uncultivated part. It is totally different from the cultivation in the old cosmos with old principles. Beings in the old cosmos cannot see at all the true state of our cultivation, no matter how high a level they are at, because it belongs to the new cosmos. All of what we are doing at the moment is to enable our remaining part to reach the standards of the new cosmos.

The biggest difference between other beings in the cosmos and us is that we study the Fa. For a while I often thought that Master's articles were aimed at other people, and I would always find faults with others, not paying much attention to looking inward. Also Master has said, "It becomes even more difficult to save you." ("Fa-lecture at Fa Conference in Europe," non-official translation) I used to think that it meant to say that Master is compassionate and has put all of his heart into Dafa disciples, and it has not been easy for Master. After studying the new articles, I realized that it also meant Dafa practitioners. The reason why Master said that it was difficult to save us is because sometimes our attachments are too strong. How strong our attachments are when passing a test, or how weak our righteous thoughts are in the face of tribulations in Fa-rectification will cause corresponding difficulties for Master in saving us. Just like the example of eliminating illness for people, "The method the old forces used to obstruct me was to arrange countless, innumerable Gods to instantly block where the root of the person's ailment was. They became very small. Sometimes a Dafa disciple often sees a bright, golden speck flash before his eyes, and that's them. They became tiny, but their density was quite high, they'd pack together densely, and block where the root of the ailment was. But in fact, they couldn't block me. I could grab them and throw them away, and I could strike them down." "But, in order to safeguard the old laws of the cosmos- they couldn't see the laws of the new cosmos- they stubbornly blocked there, and after I removed a batch of them, another batch would come, continuously replenishing. Master didn't have the heart to do it, I couldn't destroy so many Gods just to be compassionate to an everyday person, even though they don't understand the Fa-rectification." "Of course, in this Fa-rectification when our students act righteously, then those problems won't exist. When the gong and energy that I left at this place in the cosmos, in the Three Realms, do things, and if students don't act righteously, then the old forces resist, and a state of obstruction appears." It would be a lot easier if the person receiving treatment cultivated firmly at that time. But he only wanted to have his illness treated, and even if his illness had been cured he still might not cultivate. When the climate changes as it has recently, he might even turn the opposite way. This is where the difficulty lies. It is the same with the current situation. If we could do everything righteously under any circumstances, Master would have no difficulties in whatever he does and we would not experience any situation of obstruction. I understand the reason why Master said it was difficult to save us is all because of us, and that Master was talking about us, and the Fa is always taught to us.

My father is over 60 this year. The persecution I suffered during the past three-plus years has brought him enormous mental torment. Today, when I was selecting and printing out some appropriate truth-clarifying materials for him, I suddenly remembered what Master said, "Let me tell you, every person in the entire world was at one point part of my family (applause), including the worst people, or else there'd be no chance to be a human being during this time. What happened in history is what they have gone through and what they chose for themselves. The most despicable are the old forces. They dare to massacre my people at will since they don't belong to them. What's stored in Master's heart are all the people there are." ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") My understanding of what's behind these lines is that Master has compassion for all human beings; even now Master still treats everyone as part of his family, including those who are still viciously slandering Master....

I was truly melted by this immense compassion. I'm so careful when choosing materials for my father, then how could I be so casual with others, with no consideration of their ability to understand, and their backgrounds? Isn't it as bad as taking a perfunctory attitude in doing truth-clarification work? Isn't this driven by selfishness? How could we call what we do with such a mentality "spreading the Fa and saving the people with compassion"? Isn't this exactly what I need to let go? We should treat everyone in the same way as we treat our father in clarifying the truth.
