A Story About the Son of a Public Security Chief

February 07, 2003 |   By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I was so touched by the story on Minghui Net, a story about a practitioner who became homeless to avoid persecution. He had to pick rotten food from the garbage each day to survive. I wonder how many more kindhearted practitioners have been forced to live on the street to avoid the persecution by Jiang's regime. This story reminded me of a fellow practitioner. He is about 30 years old, a university graduate and a technician. His father is the associate chief of the local Public Security Bureau.

He started to practice shortly before July 20, 1999. He had read Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Dafa) many times. When the dictator started to persecute Falun Gong soon afterwards, he talked to his father about Falun Gong, and told him that practitioners believed in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that they were all good people. However, his father would not listen. As the persecution intensified, to protect his political career, this practitioner's father threatened to put his son in jail if he didn't give up his belief in Falun Gong. Having no choice, the practitioner left home and went on a very difficult journey to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to others, with only a few hundred Yuan in his pocket, a backpack full of truth-clarifying materials and a copy of Zhuan Falun. Wherever he went, he explained to people that Falun Gong is good. When he ran out of money, he did some odd jobs or begged for food. When he ran out of the truth-clarifying materials, he wrote on street posts with some chalk: "Falun Dafa is good."

Over the course of a year, he had been to many parts of China. Most of the time, he lived with homeless people. Often he went without a meal for several days. He sometimes slept in a ditch where the gas pipes were. He had not had a shower for over a year. Then, he was arrested by police in Gansu Province and was taken into a detention center. The police notified his family to come pick him up. When he arrived at home, his family couldn't recognize him. He was skin and bones, and his face covered with dirt. His father burst into tears. He had forced his own son, who believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, into this. The father helped his son shower seven or eight times until his true skin color showed.

The practitioner told his father that even if he were sent to a detention center, he would not give up his belief. The father conceded, saying that his son could practice at home and that no one would touch him there. The story spread among the neighbors. No one said a negative word about the son of the associate chief of the Public Security Bureau. To the contrary, they thought he was truly remarkable.
