One day before New Year's Day of 2003, at twelve o'clock noon, a truth-clarifying video program was successfully broadcast in a residential area in Northeast China. The program ran for over 40 minutes. Many people in the area watched the truth of the "Self-Immolation Incident".

Practitioner Liu Guihua (female) is from the 8511 Farm in Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province. On December 5, 2002, she was illegally sentenced to four years in prison for posting truth-clarifying materials. At the same time, her brother and mother-in-law were also illegally sentenced to four years in prison, and her sister-in-law received a sentence of three years.

Xinbin practitioners Liu Mingzhen, female, 53 years old, and Li Feng, male, 63 years old, a married couple, are retired employees from the Broadcasting Bureau of Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. They were reported for posting Falun Dafa banners on February 25, 2003. Zhu Jianping, the Party Secretary of the county, instructed Song Junlin, the General Secretary of the Politics & Law Committee, to issue an order to arrest Liu Mingzhen and Li Feng. They are currently being illegally detained in the Xinbin County Detention Center. The news of their arrest is being blocked, and their family members are not allowed to visit them.

Since 2002, Li Feng's work unit had stopped paying his pension. Meng Qingyu, the President of the Broadcasting Bureau once sent him to the detention center simply because he refused to give up cultivation practice. Li Feng went on a hunger strike protesting the illegal detention and was later released unconditionally. Liu Mingzhen's daughter, Xin Lijuan (31 years old), is a permanent resident of Singapore. Ms. Liu's son-in-law is the director of the Singapore Television Station. We hope that the Global Rescue Campaign Team can help rescue this couple.

The China Ocean University, originally named Qingdao Ocean University, refuses to hire Falun Dafa practitioners for any job. They indicate this policy on their "Employment Opportunities" notice on their website, even listing the requirement of "being against Falun Dafa" as a priority for potential new hires. Furthermore, they fired Falun Dafa practitioners who were already employed, for no reason other than that they practice Falun Dafa.

Practitioner Dong Mei (female) was illegally sentenced to forced labor camp for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She is being detained in the Longshan Forced Labor Camp. The police there don't allow her family members to visit her and don't allow her to write to them.

Xishui County practitioner Du Xiansheng has been threatened and harassed for a long time by the local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.] and by the police, simply because he remains steadfast in cultivating Falun Dafa. He is also persecuted because his brother-in-law is a Falun Gong practitioner in the United States. Du Xiansheng was secretly arrested before the 16^th Party Congress, and his current whereabouts are unknown. We appeal to the Global Rescue Campaign Team to help rescue Mr. Du. We also appeal to the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong to place his case on file and help rescue him.

Dalian practitioner Sister Shi started to learn Falun Dafa in 1995. After the persecution began in July 1999, she went to Beijing several times together with her daughter, appealing for Falun Dafa. She has been arrested many times. She has been detained in a medical center for drug addicts, in the Public Security Branch, in a detention center and in a forced labor camp, but each time she was able to break away from the evil's control in a noble and upright manner. In the spring of 2001, when she was clarifying the truth and distributing Falun Dafa materials, she was followed and arrested by the police. However, she walked out of the local police substation using her righteous thoughts. After that, she had to become homeless and destitute for eight months in order to avoid further persecution. During this time, Sister Shi traveled widely, clarifying the truth to the people around her.

By the end of 2001, she was again arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials. The police attempted to sentence her to a forced labor camp. With her powerful righteous thoughts, she once again walked out of the Public Security Branch. In the spring of 2002, some vicious people reported her to the police, and she was ambushed and arrested when she went back home. Her daughter was arrested as well. Sister Shi's whereabouts are currently unknown. It is said that she and her daughter have been sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

Police in Linxia City illegally detained several Falun Dafa practitioners before the 16^th Party Congress. They arbitrarily searched practitioners and their homes and confiscated their property, including around 30,000 Yuan in cash (equal to five year's annual average income of an ordinary worker in China). Practitioners currently detained include Chen Keyun, former President of the Party College in Linxia City, Bai Chunyan, former teacher of Jianguo Primary School, and her husband, and Shi Guangping, former teacher of No.10 High School in Linxia City. Also, Jiao Yunlin and He Xuehua are currently being detained in the Jishi Detention Center, where they are subject to severe torture.

Peng Lekuan, from Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province, was detained in the Webei Jail, and was illegally sentenced to five years in prison. His home has recently been searched by the police.

Unlawful officers in Xinxiang City actively persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Besides forced labor "reeducation," jail terms and long-term detention (some practitioners are illegally detained for over two years for no legal reason), other means have also been employed to persecute practitioners, including dismissal from employment and extortion of huge sums of money. These "fines" are so high that even the police are shocked at the amounts. For example, the Oil Exporting Administration Department extorted 380,000 Yuan (equivalent to around US $40,000) from practitioners. Below are the details:

In a certain area in northern China, several Fa-conferences have been held around the time of the Chinese Lunar New Year. Practitioners helped each other to gain a better understanding of the Fa. Those who had never stepped forward before came out to explain the truth of Falun Dafa to people around them and to distribute truth-clarifying materials. Practitioners put truth-clarifying booklets into envelopes together with flyers bearing the words, "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" and "Falun Dafa is good!" in eye-catching fonts. Then they put double-sided tape on the envelopes so that they could be affixed to vertical surfaces. Every time before posting these envelopes, they sent forth righteous thoughts together as a group. As of this time, the group has put up over 16,000 copies of these materials.

It has been learned that a Changchun City couple named Wang Zhigang and Song Jiangfeng compiled a book defaming Falun Dafa. This book was used to deceive many Falun Dafa practitioners in detention.

Policewomen in the Jiamusi Female Forced Labor Camp persecute Falun Dafa practitioners using extreme torture. They shouted that they would intensify the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners after the Chinese Lunar New Year. We hope that the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong will pay attention to these vicious police officers and help bring them to justice. They are:

Chen Jing, Wang Yan, Wang Xiurong, Li Xiujin, Lin Wei, Liu Yadong, Zhou Jiahui, Zhang Xiaodan, Sun Limin, Chen Chunyan, Gao Jie and Yin Hong.

Ma X, from Deyang City of Sichuan Province, monitored and reported on local Falun Dafa practitioners. As a result, Ma was killed by a truck in a traffic accident in April 2002. It happened very strangely. At the time, Ma X was riding a motorcycle and ran into the back wheels of the truck. Later on, some people said that he had received retribution, but many people didn't believe it.

Not long ago, a well-known local fortuneteller saw Ma in another dimension and found him in a very bad situation. He is subject to all means of punishment in Hell. Ma told the fortuneteller that he had received retribution for persecuting Falun Dafa, and he felt so regretful. He asked the fortuneteller to tell people in the human world to be sure not to persecute Dafa, and not to show disrespect to Dafa practitioners! Otherwise, they will go to Hell after death!

The fortuneteller told Ma's family what he saw, as well as his own family members, relatives and friends. The news was soon spread throughout the local area and caused quite a stir.
