[Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioners Qi Zeshui and Song Qisheng Are Secretly Sentenced
On August 5th, 2002, Dafa practitioner Mr. Qi Zeshui from Dingxing County was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials and was detained at Dingxing County's Detention Center. In mid January 2003, he was secretly sentenced to seven years imprisonment. There was no court trial. One lone person read the so-called verdict.
In mid November 2003, after Dafa practitioner Mr. Song Qisheng had been detained for one and a half years beyond his term at Dingxing County's Detention Center, he was secretly sentenced to seven years' imprisonment, during which time his family members were not allowed to visit him.
The two practitioners mentioned above were sent to Tangshan City Prison in Hebei Province at the same time.
[Mancheng County, Hebei Province] Personnel from the Huiyang Factory's "610 Office" Ransack Dafa Practitioners' Homes
Personnel from Mancheng County Police Department, Bailong Township Police Station, Shenxing Town Police Station collaborated with personnel from the Huiyang Factory's "610 Office."* They repeatedly went to the homes of Dafa practitioners who work in the factory to ransack their belongings and attempted to arrest the practitioners. During the evening of October 28, 2003, Liu Tongquan, head of Huiyang Factory's "610 Office," together with policeman Liang, collaborated with a group of people from Bailong Township, Shenxing Town and Mancheng County. They ransacked the home of Dafa practitioners who work in the Huiyang Factory, and claimed this was a "uniform action" of Baoding City.
"610 Office"*: an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
[Baishan City, Jilin Province] Two Officials from the Wangou Coal Mine Persecute Dafa Practitioners
A high-ranking official from the Wangou Coal Mine actively cooperated with police to persecute Dafa practitioners who work there. He caused the arrest of several Dafa practitioners and their sentences to forced labor.
Ever since July 20, 1999, Yang Shuxiu, director of the Xinggong Street Administration Committee in the Wangou Coal Mine, has been following the Jiang regime's directives to persecute Dafa practitioners. She is behind the orders to have many Dafa practitioners' homes ransacked, a small Dafa materials production center destroyed and a practitioner arrested. This practitioner later walked out of the detention center with the power of righteous thoughts.

[Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Gao Fengyun Arrested
Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Fengyun, who lives on Wenfu Street, Nangang District, Harbin City was arrested at home. Ms. Liu Shuqing, a fellow practitioner from the Measuring Tool Factory, Dongli District was arrested and had implicated Gao Fengyun. At present, Gao Fengyun's house is still being monitored.
[Nanning City, Guangxi Province] Brief News from the Nanning District
Recently, Nanning District's Dafa practitioners' overall truth clarification has been interfered with. Some Dafa materials production centers were destroyed. Things are not working properly. Police officers on a stakeout at certain locations arrested some practitioners who were making truth-clarification handouts. Police followed several practitioners who attempted to find out the materials center locations; other practitioners were arrested at home for no valid reason. According to inside news, Nanning City authorities are doing a rush job to build a new detention center to persecute Dafa practitioners in Guangxi Province on a larger scale. They are planning to set up mass brainwashing sessions by the end of this year.
[Da'an City, Jilin Province] Persecution Cases
During the morning of October 17, 2003, Li Aimin, director of Da'an City's Jinhua Street Police Precinct in Jilin Province, led a group of people to ransack practitioners' homes and took abducted two practitioners to a detention center.
On October 17, 2003, seven to eight policemen from the Huiyang Street Police Precinct went to practitioner Mr. Li's home. Without producing any legal documents, the police ransacked the practitioner's home and sent Li to a brainwashing class. They did not release Li until they had detained him for 20 days and extorted 4,000 to 5,000 Yuan from him. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China].
In the middle of October 2003, police from the Huiyang Street Police Precinct arrested practitioner Ms. Zhao Guiqin, 60 years old, and detained her at the Criminal Police Team location for three days. Afterward, Zhao was sent to a transition team, where she was tortured. Police officer Chen Yamin, chief of the Political and Security Section of the police precinct, beat her savagely. Zhao went on a hunger strike to protest the inhumane torture and eventually escaped her captors with the power of her righteous thoughts.

[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Deaths of Practitioners Xu Xiu'e and Zhuang Caixia as a Result of Mental and Physical Torture
Practitioner Ms. Xu Xiu'e, 55 years old, was living at Dunhuang Street in the Shahekou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She obtained the Fa in the beginning of 1997. In the beginning of 2002 she was arrested by the Houjiagou Police Precinct. Ms. Xu was detained at the Yaojia Detention Center for about a month. Her family had someone bail her out, but they spent over 30,000 Yuan to get this accomplished. After she was released, police officers and residential committee persons in charge of her area often went to her home to harass and threaten her, which caused her severe mental pressure. On November 20, 2003, she died at a hospital.
Belated News - Ms. Zhuang Caixia, 46 years old, was living at Shacheng Street in the Shahekou District of the city. Because of multiple detentions and torture, she died at home in 2001.
[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Police Force Practitioner's Family Members to Abuse People
The police from Shenyang City's Prison (also called Shenyang City's Dabei Prison/ No. 2 Jail) force practitioners' family members to use " a pass" every time when they met with practitioners (each pass costs 50 Yuan). In addition, visitors have to be directly related to the practitioners. When practitioners' family members ask permission to meet with practitioners, the police force them to curse Dafa and Teacher. If they refused to do so, they were not allowed to meet with the detained practitioners. Some relatives who came from faraway places to meet with the detained practitioners did what the police requested against their will.
Most of the time, the diet in this prison for the practitioners consists of steamed corn buns and sometimes there is sand in the buns. The practitioners receive only scant quantities of vegetables. In order to improve the practitioners' diet, every time they visit practitioners, the relatives often order a meal that costs 150 Yuan in the prison, the same meal that only costs 30 Yuan outside the prison walls. The police forbid the visitors to take anything except money into the prison. Everything in the prison supermarket is exorbitantly priced. Every visit is difficult because it requires approvals from many levels, and sometimes the relatives have to wait from morning to evening to finally meet with the detained practitioners. A few policemen monitor these visits to be at the ready to block any persecution facts from leaking out.

Recently, the authorities of Xinji City, Hebei Province intend to "ask each one to express one's attitude" regarding Falun Gong. They sometimes force Dafa practitioners and everyday people to write the so-called "four statements" or "three statements*."
Three Statements *Practitioners are coerced under brainwashing and torture to write these as proof that they have given up their belief in Falun Dafa. Concocted by the "610 Office," the three statements consist of a letter of repentance for having practiced Falun Gong, a guarantee to never again to practice Falun Gong, and a list of names and addresses of all family members, friends and acquaintances who are practitioners.
[Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Jinfang Detained at a Brainwashing Class
Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Jinfang is an employee of the Babaishang Branch of Daqing City's Industry and Commence Bank in Heilongjiang Province. During the afternoon of November 17, 2003, when Liu Jinfang was on duty, five to six people from Daqing City's and the bank's "610 Office" forcibly packed her into a car and took her away. Currently she is being illegally detained at Daqing City's Hongweixing Brainwashing Class.
Several months ago, some personnel of Daqing City's Industry and Commence Bank and the Babaishang Branch often harassed her. They suspended her from work for several months in order to try to force her to give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and write the "three statements," but she refused to comply with all their unreasonable requests. They also tried many times to put Liu Jinfang into brainwashing classes.
[Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Brief Information about the Persecution against Dafa Practitioner Couple Li Jinxiu and Tong Jinfu
1. Dafa practitioner Li Jinxiu and his wife live in Xibo Village, Yongling Town, Xinbin County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province. Policemen often harassed them because they practice Falun Gong. In order to avoid illegal arrest, they had to leave home to escape their persecutors.
2. Dafa practitioner Mr. Tong Jinfu from Jiahe Village has frequently suffered persecution for practicing Falun Gong. In April or May 2003, policemen took him away and put him into Xinbin County's Detention Center. He staged a hunger strike for more than ten days during the detention in protest. He was released when his life was in danger. But after he went back home and recovered, policemen continued to harass him again and again. In order to avoid illegal arrest, he had to leave home. His whereabouts are unknown.

[Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Illegal Arrest of Dafa Practitioner He Shurong
Dafa practitioner Ms. He Shurong lives in Cuijia'an Village, Lingshan Town, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. During midday on November 12, 2003 when He Shurong went shopping, Dong Quanqi, head of Lingshan Town's "610 Office" who is also the deputy mayor for Lingshan Town, led a group of people and snuck into He Shurong's house. They waited there and arrested her as soon as He Shurong returned. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Dong Quanqi had led people to climb over the yard compound wall and break into practitioners' homes. These individuals unlawfully invaded the homes of He Shurong, Mr. Fang Shaoliang, Ms. Shao Shouxiang, Ms. Zhang Xianying and Ms. He Xiuxiang.
Many Dafa practitioners in Lingshan Town have been illegally put into brainwashing classes, some seven or eight times. Their houses have also been frequently searched. In August 2002, Dong Quanqi entrapped seven or eight Dafa practitioners, including Shao Shouxiang, Fang Shaoliang and Wang Xin, who were sent to Wang Village or Qingdao City for four months of brainwashing.
[Laixi City, Shandong Province] The City's Authorities Again Hold A Brainwashing Class
In November 2003, Laixi City's "610 Office" colluded with the Shuiji Street Administration Office to hold a brainwashing class. Dafa practitioners in charge of the Shuiji Street Administration Office were harassed to different degrees.
At about 5:00 p.m. on November 6, 2003, Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Jie was forcibly taken away from home and then detained at Laixi City's Xinzhuang Brainwashing Class. He has been detained for 13 days so far and his family is not allowed to visit him.
