Clarifying the Truth in the Police Station

While distributing truth-clarifying materials one day in mid September of 2002, I met an auto mechanic who was quite willing to take the materials I gave him. He even asked for more so he could give them to others. Unfortunately, someone reported him to the authorities and they arrested him. At the police station, he was forced to reveal that I was the one who distributed the materials. Thus, the police drove to my house in several police cars and tried to arrest me.

I thought to myself, "I am a Dafa practitioner. I should take all the responsibility so that the auto mechanic can be released." The police wanted me to get into to their car and go with them, so I said, "Ok, but show me a warrant first." This caught the police by surprise. I solemnly told them that their actions were illegal. My son, who was standing beside me, also condemned them. Not knowing how to reply, they slowed down and made a call for a warrant. I stared at them with no fear in my heart, while reciting Master's formulas for Fa-rectification. A little while later the warrant arrived. I thought that since they were so eager to have me, there was no need for me to avoid it. I might as well go to the police station and let the people there know the true story so they could be saved.

At the police station, the police said that I distributed the Falun Gong flyers in public, which was against the law. I immediately said, "Show me where the law is." The police were astounded by this question and did not know how to respond. I said, "You are the police and you should know the law. It should not count if you cannot show me the law. Jiang does not represent the law and he is putting himself above the law. The persecution of Falun Gong violates the 36th and the 41st articles of the constitution: namely, a citizen has the freedom of belief, and the right to legally appeal to the appeals offices."

The policeman who had been listening quietly broke in and said, "The constitution is the highest law." I replied, "This is true, the constitution is the highest law of the nation. However, Jiang has violated the constitution. His decrees in violation of the constitution are invalid."

The policeman could not argue with me, so instead he asked, "Have you ever gone to Beijing to appeal?" I said that I had. When asked why, I said, "Because I wanted to say a righteous word and to clear the name of Falun Gong and of my Teacher. I also wanted to tell the Appeals Bureau that before practicing Falun Gong, I had all sorts of diseases and bad habits. Through cultivation, my body and spirit have undergone remarkable changes. I have become a very healthy and moral person."

I told the police about my experiences. The policeman recorded everything, and then replied, "You stated that you were persecuted. Where is your evidence?"

I said, "This is a good question. This is exactly what I want to talk about." With that, I told him all the suffering that I had gone through since 1999. With so many factual instances, the policeman had nothing to say. He asked, "Are there Falun Gong materials in your home?"

I said, "Yes, there is all kinds of stuff." I stared at him while sending forth righteous thoughts and his hand shook so badly that he could not write. He stood up and got a glass of water and went to rest next to the wall. After that, I felt very much at ease and sent forth righteous thoughts toward the policeman on the other side. I said, "Why don't you fall asleep. I have finished all I wanted to say and I am ready to go. I don't want to stay here any longer."

Because I refused to sign my statements, the policeman went upstairs to consult with the chief. Since the policeman who had been watching me fell asleep, I went to the gate and found that it was unlocked; I walked straight out of the police station.

While I was walking, the policeman who interrogated me came after me on a motorcycle. When he caught up with me, he yelled and wanted me to go back with him. I told him that I was going home. He followed me to my home, where my daughter poured a cup of tea for him and we chatted for a while. At last he said, " Why don't we be friends. I will be a good person from now on." Then he said to my daughter, "I have brought her home and I'm leaving now."

Seeing that one more person had awakened, I felt quite gratified.
