Some Understandings Regarding Fa Study and Reading Articles on Dafa Websites

(Clearwisdom.net)

My xinxing (heart or mind nature, moral character) has gone through many changes since I started reading articles on Dafa websites. I was able to access Dafa information through the Internet at an early stage. Although I had great admiration for fellow practitioners' heroic acts to validate Dafa with their lives and their righteous enlightenment in the Fa, quite often I was unable to accept it. Actually those negative thoughts were precisely the manifestation of my attachments and not my true self. Through reading the articles, I gradually came to realize that appealing in Tiananmen Square to validate the Fa was the right thing to do, and it was not participating in politics.

Later on, I was not able to access Dafa websites to read Teacher's new articles or other material for about four months. During that time, I could not understand why practitioners had to clarify the truth, which delayed my stepping forward and the Fa rectification process for my local region. In Teacher's article "Eliminate Evil" to Clearwisdom, Teacher said, "The ClearWisdom website runs positive articles that are truly in accordance with the requirements and that provide guidance on how cultivators should inform people of the truth and regard the Fa correctly amidst the current circumstances." My personal understanding is that the articles written by the practitioners are part of their enlightenment to Dafa; and especially in the current situation, through reading each other's articles, we can learn from each other and thereby hasten the Fa-rectification process.

Some practitioners only wanted to read Teacher's articles and nothing else on Dafa websites. There could be many reasons; maybe they did not really understand the benefits of a cultivation environment that is fostered through learning from each other. Actually, "Studying the Fa and doing cultivation are a person's own affair." ("Path") Each practitioner walks his own path in cultivation, and regardless of how high someone else's enlightenment, it is not a substitute for one's own cultivation. However, there is a distinction between sudden and gradual enlightenment to the Fa. What each practitioner enlightens to after going through a lot of thinking or a difficult test is most likely the process of gradual enlightenment in the individual's path of cultivation. To the reader of the articles however, it may be a process of sudden enlightenment through learning from each other. The establishment of a pure and righteous cultivation environment is very important for every practitioner.

Another reason could be that the practitioners did not have an adequate understanding of the Fa. The Fa conference is a form of cultivation practice that Teacher personally passed down, and is of special importance during the Fa-rectification period. Since the old evil forces began persecuting Dafa, Clearwisdom has become the de facto worldwide Fa conference. The practitioners all over the world exchange freely and advance together. Clearwisdom also has become a symbol and the site for truth-clarification, eliminating evil elements, and advancement for all practitioners. Everyday there is worldwide exchange of ideas, and it is a very precious cultivation environment, one to be cherished. In "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston," Teacher spoke about tolerance and kindness for fellow practitioners; as for the practitioners who do not like to read the articles on Clearwisdom, isn't there something for us to cultivate?

Of course, we need to allocate our time well. Fa study is the number one priority. There is a lot of information on the net, so it often takes several hours to go through them. When we are busy and pressed for time, we cannot neglect Fa study, otherwise we would be putting the cart before the horse, and the result would not be good. Actually with regard to information on the international activities, reports of the persecution, etc, we can browse through them quickly according to the individual's circumstance, but for Fa discussions we may need to read it more attentively, and if necessary read them again.
