Falun Dafa Practitioners Bring Message of Hope and Appreciation to Maine Towns -- August 10-11

August 16, 2002 |

Dafa practitioners from all over New England are traveling up the coast of Maine, visiting twelve towns to express their appreciation to the United States House of Representatives for passing Resolution 188,áwhich condemns China's ongoing campaign of terror and persecution against Falun Dafa. They expressed personal thanks toáCongressmen Tom Allen and John Baldacci for sponsoring this resolution. Theyáalso thanked the American people for supporting the rights of people around the world for their freedom of choice and personal belief. During these visits to towns that had never seen a Dafa practitioner before, they spoke of how Dafa had improved the quality of their lives, and consequently the quality of life for theiráfamilies and communities.

á

They spoke to everyone about the suppression of Falun Dafa ináChina beginning in July of 1999 and howáthe Chinese governmentáthen proceeded to kidnap, imprison and torture to death men, women and children who believed in and lived by "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."

á

They clarified the truth about the situation of the Jiang regime's extension of its persecution toáthe United States and how the Chinese government, under the direction of its dictator Jiang has tried to threaten individuals in the United States who peacefully practice Falun Dafa. China has tried to intimidate city and state governments if they support Falun Dafa with threats of economic punishment. It has tried to limit Americans' right to travel to foreign countries by creating a blacklist. This list of names is to prevent people from traveling to countries where Jiang visits in order to conduct their peaceful appeals. á

á

The purpose of this trip is to show our appreciation for these kind-hearted people's support and to help share the deeper message of what Falun Gong is, and how it is helping to bring greater peace and understanding to many people's lives.
