Some Understandings on "Doing Well in Everything We Need to Do"

[Clearwisdom.net] Master said, "I know that you've all worked so hard. You have to work and you have to study, you have your family life and social activities, and at the same time you have to take care of your family, do a good job at work, and you have to study the Fa well and do the exercises well, and what's more, you have to clarify the truth. It is hard! It's pretty hard both time-wise and financially. It's hard, so your mighty virtue is displayed; it's hard, and so it's a good opportunity to establish your mighty virtue. Remarkable! Since you are cultivators, even though it's hard you should do even better."

When talking about the correct state of mind that practitioners should have during Fa-rectification, Master also said, "in addition to studying the Fa, it's about playing a Fa-validating role when evil persecutes the Fa ("'Serious Teaching" from Minghui editors"). Our beings came into existence for the sake of assisting Teacher to rectify the Fa and for the sake of saving countless sentient beings in the immense cosmic systems. "How to fulfill my own role in Fa-rectification to the maximum extent possible during this magnificent historical moment" and "what is the real difference between Fa-rectification cultivation and individual cultivation" are two questions that have puzzled me for a long period of time. I always felt that clarifying the truth to people in all kinds of environments, and passing out truth-clarifying flyers and eliminating my own attachments in the process are what Fa-rectification cultivation is about. If we understand Master's requirements of doing a good job at work and having family life and social activities as things that we are forced to do as a part of living in the human society, we might try to merely get by with our own jobs, families and personal lives. As a result, things around us might be messy, chaotic and sub-par, which result in negative consequences. Many of us have lost touch with our old classmates and friends, and have missed out many opportunities to clarify the truth to them. Certain practitioners mistakenly consider it as a part of letting go of attachments to matters of ordinary society and letting go of their sentimentalities. But in reality, while conforming to the principles of ordinary society (of course excluding those deviated principles), the more righteous that every single Dafa practitioner is in all of his words and actions, the more positive influence he brings to the society, and the more he shines with a pure and righteous radiance.

During the Fa-rectification period, which one thing is more important than others? When Master told us to do many things well, including working, studying and handling our family lives, does it have any important significance to our improvement and Fa-rectification? I have come to understand that the process of our Fa-rectification is the process of us breaking through and eliminating our human shells made up of deviated notions. There are two parts to Dafa disciples participating in Fa-rectification. The first part is to rectify ourselves. Since Master introduced Dafa to the public in 1992, we mainly use the Fa principles of the cosmos to rectify the parts of ourselves that have been deviated. The second part started in 1999 when we began to use the parts of ourselves that have been rectified to assist Teacher in Fa-rectification and eliminate all the evil in the Three Realms that have been damaging Dafa. At the same time, we also need to rectify the deeper parts of our beings that have not been rectified and gradually eliminate our own shells made up of human notions. If we as a whole can do well in everything that Master told us that we should do well, it will enable us to eliminate the human shells at the fastest speed. For example, while passing out flyers, we might be able to eliminate our attachments to fear and notions of fear. While clarifying the truth, we might be able to eliminate our own deviated notions. While doing house chores and keeping up good personal appearances, we might eliminate our laziness. There are many other examples. While validating the Fa in a deeper, more meticulous, more complete and more thorough manner, we are also giving ourselves more opportunities for searching inward and more complete understandings of the Fa. Master said, "Even each Dafa disciple's every move, every action, every word, and even the questions you ponder, none of it is that simple. In the future you'll see that everything was very carefully arranged. But it's not me who arranged this, it's the old forces who did."

My understanding is that while rectifying our own words and action in dealing with every single matter, we are also validating all the beautiful things that beings at higher realms possess. At the same time, everything of a being that penetrates from the highest level to the lowest level is also a unified body of his own internal thoughts and external appearances. Rectifying all these is also opposing and eliminating the arrangements of old forces.

I personally also believe that when Master told us to do things such as studying the Fa, doing the exercises, taking care of our own families and clarifying the truth well, he was only making a generalization and behind his words there are many things that we need to enlighten to on our own. Doing everything well and cultivating ourselves well in the process correspond to rectifying the cosmic system and saving sentient beings. That is because Master said, "So whichever realm you have cultivated to, the composition of your being at the microcosmic level is connected to that realm. When you cultivate to higher levels you will be connected to higher levels and will sever the connections to all levels below." When we eliminate every single deviated attachment, we are breaking through and cleansing layers after layers of boundless cosmic systems. But that can only be accomplished when our behaviors in the human world meet the requirement of being "responsible for all righteous elements in the cosmos."
