The "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] in conspiracy with the Police Department and the National Security Forces have carried out excessive arrests of Falun Dafa practitioners since mid-April. As long as someone still practices Falun Gong, he or she will be arrested, and there is no due legal process whatsoever. During the May 1 holiday season, Falun Dafa practitioners who have been arrested from their homes without warrant include Wang Liyun (female), Jiang Shuling (female), Sun Shuzhi (female, 63 years old), Yan Chengyou, Gao Zhaofa, Qin Yuping (female, 63 years old), Qu Changhua (58 years old), Zhang Shuyun (female), senior ladies with last names of Wang, Zhang, and Song, Wang Fenglan (female), Li Guilan (female), and many others. Their homes were also illegally searched. So far, over one hundred people have been taken into custody.

Zhao Juan (female) is a teacher at the No. 1 Middle School of Shuangyashan City. She was abducted while teaching a class in late April. To protest the illegal custody, Zhao Juan went on a hunger strike for five days. She started to lose consciousness, and is being rescued in an oxygen cell in the hospital. It is hard to tell if she will survive.

As reported by reliable sources, among the Falun Gong practitioners illegally held in Xinxiang Female Prison in Henan Province, a female university student has been driven insane due to the persecution. Her name is not known. In order to cover up the crimes committed against her, the police have locked her up in isolation.

Last February, a Falun Gong practitioner from northeast China was unjustly held in the No. 3 Forced Labor Camp in Henan Province. He has not told the police his name. He went on a hunger strike for several days. The police ordered cellmates to force-feed him as a torture. Every day he was handcuffed to the bed. Even when going to the restroom, his wrist is handcuffed to another cellmate to prevent him from escaping.

Guan Yinghua (female) was deceived by the police into leaving her home in mid-April, and was then arrested.

Guan Yanping (female), Chen Chunlan (female), Ma Renlin, and Zong Yuejin were taken away separately by the following police officers: Sun, chief of the local police department, Hao, commissar of the police department, Fu Qiang and seven or eight other police officers.

It is not uncommon that people from the "610 Office" at Aoping Town of Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province, arrest and beat Falun Dafa practitioners at will. Some practitioners have been injured and some have even become physically impaired due to beatings received. There have been cases where family members who were non-practitioners were beaten to such an extent that they sustained injuries all over their bodies.

On the afternoon of April 15, 2002, without presenting any evidence or acquiring any legal paperwork, a group of people from the "610 Office" rushed into the home of a Falun Dafa practitioner in Yinfeng Town, Shifang City. At the time, only the 75-year-old elderly mother of the practitioner was at home. This group of vicious people didn't find the practitioner, nor did they heed the persuasion of the elderly lady. In the end, they violently beat the elderly lady, and illegally took away the book Zhuan Falun and the portrait of the Falun Gong founder.

Those who participated in this action include: Chen Liangzhong, Li Hua, Li Guoqi, and Bai Jiru.

There are five people who practice cultivation at the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Qin Yuping (female, 63 years old) in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. Throughout the three years of persecution, her two sons, one daughter-in-law and she herself had been abducted on separate occasions. One of her sons was sent to Suhua Forced Labor Camp at the end of last March, as he refused to give up practicing Falun Gong. Her other son, Pan Xingfu, was intercepted by the police while in the process of relocating. The police found Falun Dafa books and a personal computer in the moving truck. He has been illegally held in custody for over eight months. After two trials, in which neither of them had any evidence presented against him, Pan Xingfu was sentenced to five years in prison in March 2002. His wife Zhang Li was subsequently abducted from the home on April 15, 2002. Separated from both parents who have been illegally taken away, the 3-year-old son has to be taken care of by his grandma, Qin Yuping. During the May 1 holiday season, the police broke in without any reason and forcibly took away elderly Qin. The 3-year-old has thus become completely unattended.

In early April, the Director of the "610 Office" and Policemen Wang Wenwu and Deng Ying illegally searched Gong Xingchan's home and abducted her for clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa to others. Gong Xingchan is a Dafa disciple from Deyang City, Sichuan Province. At the time, her husband was recuperating from an operation for paranasal sinus cancer and care was required for him. However, the policemen insisted on sentencing Gong to two years of forced labor "reeducation" in the Nanmusi Female Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong City.

According to Sichuan Legality Journal on April 17^th, the local police captured Liang Junhua, a Falun Dafa disciple from Dabei Village, Huangdan Town, Muchuan County on December 28, 2001 for clarifying the truth. And on March 18, 2002, he (she) was sentenced to jail for over two years.

Recently, several Dafa disciples in Luojiang County of Deyang City have been sentenced to jail as well.

Both Yu Jianni and her sister are Falun Dafa disciples in Wuhan City. On April 26 this year, Huang Yahui and two people from the Security Section of the Cold Storage Transportation Company captured Yu Jianni and sent her to the Longchi Police Substation. When her sister and brother-in-law arrived at the police substation after hearing the news, Yu Jianni had been sent to the Shizishan Forced Labor Camp. When her sister asked for an explanation of her arrest, Yang Feng, the Director of the Longchi Police Substation said, "I didn't want to do it, either. I have to follow the order from the higher authority."

Since late April, police from Zhaoyuan County of Daqing City have launched a new round of searching for Falun Dafa disciples. Recently, the county authorities have illegally captured more than 20 Falun Dafa disciples, including Ma Yuying, etc.

Police in Daqing area brutally beat Dafa disciple Zhang Xinye. He cannot open his eyes and he is in critical condition. In Daqing area, Falun Dafa disciples are monitored whenever they leave home. Their basic rights are denied.

In order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief and cultivation practice, the Politics & Law Committee in Maoming City detain Dafa disciples for extended terms in the Politics & Law School for brainwashing. They collect 25 Yuan a day from each practitioner. When some police went to practitioners' home to collect the money, they demanded more than 30 Yuan a day. They keep the extra money for themselves. The living standard in Maoming area is very low due to people's low income. When some practitioners don't have enough money to pay the forced brainwashing class, the police would go to their home and forcibly take away some valuables such as electronic equipments, etc. Some policemen even extort money from the practitioners' family by threatening "We'll send him (her) to forced labor camp if you don't have money." Some practitioners were still forcibly sent to forced labor camp after their family members paid several thousand Yuan.

Falun Dafa disciple Sun Yanjun graduated from a medical university last year. He lost his job during the persecution. He made deliveries for Dafa material not long ago. After 6:00 p.m. on April 25^th, 2002, over 20 policemen from the National Security Bureau captured him at his home. The moment the police broke into his room, Sun Yanjun and his mother began to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa to them and tell them that "good will be awarded with good, and evil with evil." The policemen knew they were doing wrong deeds and were afraid to look at Sun and his mother's eyes.

On April 27^th, when Sun's mother went to see her son at the National Security Bureau in Harbin City, she wasn't allowed to meet him.

Fuyu County frenziedly persecutes Falun Dafa. Anyone "reporting" a Falun Dafa practitioner is awarded 1000 Yuan. Police arbitrarily search practitioners' homes and capture them. As long as Falun Dafa disciples say yes when asked about whether they are still practicing Falun Dafa, they will be detained and sent for brainwashing and be illegally sentenced to forced labor camp or jail.
