Discussion
My view of the Xinhua News Agency's criticism.
Recently, Xinhua published an anonymous article, which was almost laughable because of its "cultural revolution" style. However, from this article our fellow overseas Chinese people also learned something about Falun Gong's condition abroad, since this article completely recounted practitioners' appeal at the United Nations Human Rights meeting and the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, their "cat-chase-mouse" protest during Jiang's visit to the United States and Germany, their long-term protest activities in front of various Chinese consulates in New York, Los Angeles, Canada, Australia, and other locations, and the Western practitioners' magnificent feat of calling for an end to the persecution in Tiananmen Square.
People in China do not have much choice on what they can watch on television. Since July 1999, all the TV stations in China have been airing programs that slander Falun Gong. The audience doesn't even have the right to change channels and watch programs with a different point of view. Is that a violation of the audience's rights? If the "self-immolation" program broadcasted by CCTV was not a violation of the audience's rights, then why is the program made by Falun Gong practitioners, in which they only slowed down some scenes of the same program, a violation? The audience never had any right to choose what they can watch, then how could Falun Gong practitioners violate it?
A brief discussion about the end of Jiang's regime: Jiang is incompetent, wasteful, and corrupt. He is harming both the country and the people. Jiang came to power through suppressing and killing many innocent students who went to appeal in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989. He publicly clamors to eliminate "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance." He sold part of the country's land, allowed his son to steal from the country, trampled all over the Constitution and the law, and played a large part in allowing the rampant corruption. His crimes are numerous. His tyranny has brought about natural disasters like droughts, floods and sand storms. The people are unhappy and heaven is full of anger. The end of Jiang is close at hand.
