BERLIN, April 4 (Radio Free Asia)--German Prime Minister Schr der will bring up the issue of human rights with the Chinese President Jiang Zemin who is visiting Germany.
A senior official of the German government indicated on Friday that Schr der will bring up the issue of human rights when he meets with Jiang Zemin on Tuesday, April 9. The official reckoned that whereas the goal of the two countries is to dialogue over the long run rather than to openly criticize, the two governments don't need to confront to each other when discussing this issue. In addition, Schr der will also discuss the improvement of the reformation of the legal system in China. The official also said that Germany could only influence other countries through a careful exchange.
It is reported that Jiang will start his 6-day visit to Germany on Monday, April 8.
